The white boxes really kill it, and "blazidos" should be "BLAZIDOS", beacuse its the name of the species of pokemon.

mewtwo-EX May 31st, 2006 8:03 PM

Harley+: Nice card design. I'm busy running my own shop, so I can't go in with you. Keep up the designing tho.

GentlemanJ: It really looks like a real card. If you have the time to make them, go ahead and open a shop. It looks like it'd take quite a bit of time for each one tho...you may want to come up with a way to automate it.

SETH_xd001: What program did you use? GS135790 is right, the text boxes (white boxes) really detract from the overall look of the design. When making the text boxes, make sure they are small enough to fit the space. Also, the font should actually be the R/S font from the game. I think I posted this somewhere...[ Link ]. The Blaziken-Zapdos fusion is cool...did you make that yourself? If not, make sure to credit the creator.

My first attempt at a Trainer card:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h308/eevachu/eevachu_tcard.png

It technically isn't finished since I need to create the sprite fusions for the Dragonite, Arcanine, Furret & Charizard.

The background (which is a cropped & resized version of this wallpaper), the trainer sprite, the red pokeball, the Pikachu and Eevee sprites are all custom by me (I used bases for the Pokemon/Pokeball sprites though).

And 45566 is in fact my Pokemon Crystal ID.

Gary, the Magic Fairy June 3rd, 2006 8:33 PM

Even if it wasn't a first try, its still the best one I've ever seen. Ever. I can't wait to see it finished.

♥RanaRocket!☆ June 4th, 2006 12:00 AM

wow O_o.....
i like the colour scheme, it really bright, and the custom sprites you made look awesome! i cant wait ta see it finished!~

makes mine look baaaaaaaaaaad (ones in my siggy.....)

ze_gobou June 4th, 2006 1:31 AM

the trainer sprite is great !
I can't wait to see it finished !

mewtwo-EX June 4th, 2006 8:08 AM

Very nice. One of the best "standard" designs I've seen yet. When you finish the fusions it will look even better. Keep it up!

Tha Pkmn Prodigy June 5th, 2006 9:04 AM

my card looks gangsta huh?

mewtwo-EX June 5th, 2006 6:24 PM

Well...you could say that I suppose, but it could use some touchups. The background you chose overpowers your trainer sprite: I'd suggest changing that. Also you may think about making the pokemon's background transparent. Just my thoughts...take them or leave them.

Conman June 5th, 2006 11:44 PM

I know I already made a thread for my Trainer Card, but I forgot I could put it here. So tell me what you think about my Trainer Card.http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/1711/trainercard8hb.png
Also tell me what you think about my brand new and first Pokemon Info Card. I am going to make one for my other pokemon too.

They're really good. Do you have an animating program? If you did, you could do your whole team on one animation. STEALING THIS POST.

Pokemon Shaped Cards v3 - Open

Card Shape:
Pokemon:
Name:
Info:
Background:
Trainer:

Avg. Time: 30 Min.
Size: Variable.
Priority: 3 - 4

These are my most popular cards, the pokemon shaped cards. They can be shaped like any pokemon that exists... or even ones that don't exist, if you provide me with a transparent image of it. They aren't limited to just pokemon, either. They can be pretty much any shape you want. These cards are extremely customizable, and no two are ever exactly the same. I can do almost anything to these you can imagine, so if you have something you want on it, just ask!

pikachulover306 June 7th, 2006 3:17 PM

like i made my trainer card with ms paint and i put it on photobucket but it won't load on to my profile pc

mewtwo-EX June 7th, 2006 3:34 PM

I don't like photobucket...it tends to be unreliable. I have a FAQ of how to get cards in your sig. It's linked below. It has worked for everyone so far.

Gary, the Magic Fairy June 7th, 2006 7:58 PM

Did you copy the image code into your signature or profile?

♥RanaRocket!☆ June 9th, 2006 11:42 PM

hey, what do people think of my trianers card ?(in my sig) its sorta standerd and cliche.... but thats what i like, just wanted other peoples opinions. =D

mewtwo-EX June 10th, 2006 7:17 AM

It's actually fairly good. The standard design varies greatly depending on skill, and your's appears to be done very well. Keep it up, but maybe you could create your own spinoff of that design :)

♥RanaRocket!☆ June 11th, 2006 5:35 AM

the bg i sota took, but i used the colours from it to recolour the surrounding bits... so its sorta alreday like that... n_n'''''''
thankyews! n_n

Hello everyone. >.< I'm really sorry for bothering all of you, but I have a question. >.< Umm... I made my TC at ATCM, but when I go to that thread, all it has is 1 layout... does anyone have the link to the currently updated version? I didn't save the page. >.< Sorry again.

icycatelf June 13th, 2006 7:04 PM

It seems like too many ppl edit pre-made Trainer cards; or if that's not it... they make them look TOO much like them. Be creative, people. Origionallity is a great thing. Get on paint and make your very own style. The TC and the boxes dont need to be any certain size. The words "Trainer Card" do not always have to be written in the same font. I hardly consider cards that just have their backgrounds edited custom cards. I can see when someone starts out to use pre-made TCs, but later, get more original... Check out my TCs in the Supplies section.
I'm currently working on a new template:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a168/kougawolf/CuneTC.gif
I think the color needs to contrast a bit more... Any ideas?
P.S. There will be 9 different colors (Being for the types from the TCG)

mewtwo-EX June 13th, 2006 7:47 PM

Yay! Someone who agrees with me! Excellent!

Hmm...You have lots of good points there, but the example you are showing looks a lot like all the other designs out there. I see you changed the font and added a cool glow around the pokemon, but it still looks standard IMO.

Also, for anyone who is sick of cropping tons of sprites by hand for use in pin-up boxes, I have a solution. Presenting the "Pin-up Sprite Maker", a small program that takes a GIF containing all the sprites to be edited, and spits out ready-to-be-used Pin-up sprites! All you do is place the program and the GIF (called "sprite.gif") in a folder, run the program, and read the directions. Extremely simple! I suggest Right Clicking on the sprite, hitting Move, then using the Spacebar to save and advance through the images. Makes the process take about 3 seconds.

Two versions are attached. The first produces bordered sprites at 50x34 and the second produces unbordered at 48x32.

Here's some more cards I made

http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/7773/pokecard7vi.pnghttp://img150.imageshack.us/img150/9040/small5pu.png
How can I make these better(Ignore the badge behind the icon, I just stuck it there)?

Conman June 14th, 2006 1:03 AM

I finished all the cards for my Leaf Green team. They're right here v

I animated them in my sig too. Tell my what you think about them. I also was considering to make a request thread for them. Do you think I shoud?

mewtwo-EX June 14th, 2006 7:50 AM

Conman: Nice designs with good formatting. One problem I see is that there isn't enough contrast between the text and the bubble (No, Type, OT, IDNo, NATURE) especially in the Snorlax one. You may want to either darken the text bubbles or darken the text itself. You do have enough color schemes to make a thread, so if you feel up to it, go ahead. It does take quite a bit of time to keep it running tho.

GS135790: Nifty. For the large one you may want to try to squeeze in a box for the trainer name. The small one is ok as it is.

~Yes, some of the members here do like origionallity~
I know my example TC looks kinda standard. I'm trying to fix it up, but I don't have any fresh ideas. That's the reason I asked for suggestions...
