Looks good, glad to see you back in the comic biz. It’s original, which gets bonus points from me. Hope to see more XD. Well I can’t say to much at first glance, I’ll be able to add more after a see a few more.

Thanks for the comments Dec and BH, I will release this soon. And BH I'd like to see you try, if it's not a hassle. Anyway, do you guys like the new speech bubbles?

[NovaPirate] October 23rd, 2006 6:08 AM

you've peeked my curiosity. The end of Oct. eh? It's all most about that time then. I await its arrival.

Im going to have a go at the past People who used to come to this section of PC, and ask, 'Where have the droves gone?' There used to be floods of people in the Sprite comic section, and now? The odd person visiting from the Pixel Art place.

To the Droves... 'Why?' Why leave? did they loose interest? was the not being allowed to be a charachter in a comic that bad? Did it stop you enjoying the storylines, the humour? Sorry if im having a rant, but i have to get it off my chest.

With the great comics abandoning PC and joining forces with other forums and freshly created ones to oppose PC, No-one knew anyone. People all lost interest. Noobs ran wild. I tried to claw back something to produce a good comic. No-one wanted to know. They all just wanted their second rate comics to be the best. The Sprite comic section had abandoned the creators, the audiences and followers flocked, but this time, away. This time with the authors.

I just want to ask all of you returning authors this question. What happened to drive away the fans? What is your opinion. What can we do to make us noticed, as a unit once more?

[NovaPirate] October 23rd, 2006 3:01 PM

Get new authors to create comics. Find people and get them back. Find new people.

Domin-8 October 23rd, 2006 4:13 PM

Guys and Gals please pay attention here.
I am bringing back Destiny Arrived for all to see once more. I am not sure if I will continue it, I will also bring back my google comic and this one will not be finished, and lastly I will show you all a new comic, expect this soemtime in late october early november when I get some time off work, maybe wednesday I can start gathering it all.

Alright you may avert your attention else where, or comment if you wish.

No offense, but for someone complaining about driving back the fans, you sure aren't noticing some of the comics coming back, buddy. : )

I think PC died off pretty much because of the many shut downs it had. SC did the same.

Well the stories and the humour did get worse, or no better than before

I know I personally left because everybody else did and after the April Fools joke that killed some off

I think the fans will come sooner or later with the proper advertisement of something like that

What i think is in bold.
Strong argument there Chiz and i agree with KB a bit too.

And Astral Maelstrom, yeah i got the bubbles from Spriter's Resource.
@ Milosh: Thanks for the kind words.

Chizzy October 23rd, 2006 11:58 PM

TPH, I know, Im just bitter after them all going in the first place.

It seems we are recovering, but i just needed to kick out in frustration.

And nice comic too Matt, I like it all, but the speech bubbles look a little 'not right'. They just kinda don't match.

Desgardes October 25th, 2006 7:29 PM

0.

its sucks, your grammar sucks, you have mixed sprite styles and have just randomly thrown us characters with no intro at all.

[NovaPirate] November 1st, 2006 1:28 PM

(-100)

I agree with Esupio, mixed styles, but what I found bad was the fact that Oak's replacement says absolutel nothing in the lab, 'cept 'pick one'. Also, you repeated text, as in one of the last panels where they say "Go Poke'mon." And the breaking ball, grammar. I had no idea what the Rocket said, or what the girls were saying. Spell out PKMN if your going to use large bubbles I (nice attempt) suggest you use the space. Also, no character edits, you just used regular characters (the better the characters, the better it makes the comic look), Oaks face you can't see, and why would he be wearing a sleeveless shirt, Proffessors do not wear sleeveless shirts.

doesn't matter November 4th, 2006 3:19 AM

Umm, I dunno how many of you still read Bob and George, but I'm sure we all did at one point.

Anywho, David Anez (the author) just announced on his site that the strip is gonna end soon, probably in the next six months or so.

So yeah.

Chizzy November 9th, 2006 1:04 PM

Massive Comment you all need to know!!!

Noooooooooooooo!!! Im done. Did he say why?

And yeah. My Longest ever comic, 'Poke-mon', will return within two weeks, as Im looking to continue it using the new material and experience I have.

Most of you enjoyed the small success It had, and so, expect to see all your favourite characters back, Including Dan, Orby, The 3 Homeless Kids, Gold, and the rest. The comic ended on episode 11, (First Episode of Chapter 2) and I hope to get to 5 Chapters at least.

Esupio November 14th, 2006 10:01 AM

Yeah, cover for a new comic I'm working on.
Not giving anything away, except the characters

doesn't matter November 14th, 2006 8:39 PM

Well if you're planning on using Joshr's sprites throughout the comic, then you're limited by the amount of sheets he has completed.

You should have just stuck with MD sprites, or otherwise you'll find yourself stuck in an unfortunate position where the story will lack progression due to a lack of resources ... unless you plan on making more by yourself.

@ Chizzy: Just check out his site, it'll tell you there.

Also, 1000th post! Woot! :P

I'm not going for anything big, so I only need several sheets, and theres still several I can use for extra's
and I can always employ ditto transforming into a pokemon if i have to.

I hate MD sprites.

Well, they are even more lacking. We only got sprites for the first 125 pokemon. And who says he won't sprite any more sprites himself?

What's the problem with MD sprites? I think that they would be fine for your purpose, more or less. But you'll obviously have to do some customising.

Ummm, I'm confused as to how 125 is more lacking than 14, cause 125>14. Also, consider that it is more than likely that all of the pokemon will be ripped from MD, but Joshr may not finish them all for his own reason.

Well, Uzumaki didn't say that he would ... as you should have noted from the post above yours.

But if you do make them yourself Uzumaki, good luck to you, since the style is pretty sweet.

Platforming comic. The Mysterious Dungeon sprites are from a top down angle. Emotion is more challenging to capture in RPG sprites. With a side scrolling comic, you'll most likely get to capture more emotion, which is big since Joe's comic is a more serious one.
And, there are NO tilesets ripped for Mysterious Dungeon. Not a problem for me, since I got the rom to GET the backgrounds. but others wouldn't be able to use them to their full compasity. Joe here is one who doesn't really stick to one comic. So it matters not what sprites he uses, since it'll probably end soon anyway.
