What's your phone?

So tell me forum, what kind of phone do you use? What do you like and/or dislike about it, and would you want to go with something else?

I have the Lenovo A10. A cheap phone that can hold me while I save up for a better phone hahahaha. I like it because it performs up to par with my basic phone needs (messaging, browsing, watching etc.) even though its cheap. I don't like that its fixed on Android 5.1 (will probably root it :P). If I have the money, I would buy something different like OnePlus and Samsung. But its enough for me now.

I have an LG G4 and I'm quite satisfied with it. Enough space, good performance, 3GB of RAM, beautiful camera... the only downside I noticed is that sometimes it gets hot but that aside it's a good phone.

My next phone could be a Samsung: they got better in terms of performance, especially with that TouchWiz UI which was laggy some time ago.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. Other than having some dodgy charge percentage bugs with it recently, I've had no huge problems with it in the past 18 months.

Google Pixel XL. I like that it comes with stock Android and is very stable. I also like actually getting updates to Android when they roll out.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S5. It's a good phone that rarely gives out too much trouble. I'm waiting for when updates stop pushing in to root it, which should be soon.

iPhone 6S. Bought it in the U.S. back when British money was worth something so I saved about £300 despite getting the 64GB model.

The first one I had was one of those that had battery issues, eventually took it into the Apple Store a few months ago and rather than replacing the battery and returning my scratched phone, they just gave me an entire new unit which was cool. I doubt it was a coincidence that Tim Cook was in there meeting all the employees and giving me a new phone was faster for them :P

I really like it - "Force Touch" or "3D Touch" or whatever its called is occasionally useful, it almost never crashes, the camera is great and it even recovered from being dropped in a toilet (Rice actually works at sucking moisture out the main camera) then left in its case with water trapped in there for over 12 hours whilst I was hungover, which is impressive.

I was intrigued by the Pixel as it seems to obviously counteract the main issues of Android whilst also being a pretty good phone but otherwise I'm sticking with this until they stop updating its software, and perhaps after that given how they removed the headphone jack. I love how it works with my Macbook Air, but given the user-hostile changes to their refreshes of Macbooks and iPhones I'm at a bit of an awkward situation in terms of needing to upgrade in the near future with no good options. I just don't trust Google as much with all my data as I do Apple, whether that's right or not I don't know.

iPhone SE 64 gig. I originally had the 16 gig option but after downloading a lot of shit onto it and such i had no space. Now i have room for my roms, music, texts, and pictures. Gotta get around to jailbreaking it again maybe

I currently own a Galaxy S6 = It's a decent phone but as a former flashaholic back when i owned the S4 I was disappointed that due to not having a Qalcomm chip, custom ROMs are rather limited so I'm looking at getting a different phone in the future with better 3rd party ROM support.

Huawei P8, almost two years, very reliable, can do most stuff on it, very good quality camera.

Maki-Nishikino May 11th, 2017 10:59 AM

LG stylo 2 plus
its a decent phone almost had it one year and this was the first phone ive cracked a screen on but has been replaced ill never buy a cheap case again though i wish i could afford a flagship device

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which was my brother's old phone. Whenever he gets a new one off his contract I get his old model, which is nice because free phone and he takes care of them well - they're always in like-new condition.

My only complaint about this phone is the edge. :P It's easy to touch the sides with your palm when you're typing and that's a bit annoying sometimes, but all in all I do really like this phone.

tokyodrift May 11th, 2017 1:05 PM

iPhone 6S Plus 128GB model. I really do love my iPhone, 3D Touch is especially useful. I just wish it was a bit more customizable. I'd like to be able to place my apps anywhere on the screen, not just in rows.

Qibli May 11th, 2017 3:01 PM

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, It still an OK chinese branded phone and the memory is great in fact it runs on octocore processor and I dislike how weak the LCD screen is when I want to use my frustration on it, I wish it easier to root without needing flashing

Bay May 11th, 2017 5:10 PM

iPhone 6, probably 6S actually. It's 16GB, which isn't all that much space these days. I didn't download too many apps so I'm good for now, though more space is always good incase of music and pictures heh.

Tsutarja May 11th, 2017 7:01 PM

For me, it's the iPhone 6 Plus. Even though it's a few years old at this point, it still runs great and is still far superior compared to my Moto G.

Lucario May 11th, 2017 8:46 PM

Nokia 7250.
I got it for free from a friend and I only ever use it to receve 2 factor authentication messages. Previously I hade a nexus 5 that I liked a lot but then I realised I didn't need a phone anyway.

Cordeline May 12th, 2017 5:20 PM

Nexus 6P. It was a gift of my dad last birthday and I love it. I don't like it only has 32GB of storage because I have to offload my photos somewhere else all the time.

Does the phone have expandable storage capability through an SD card?

Nopey. Which kinda sucks, because that same birthday my mom gave me a 128 GB microSD that I can't use anywhere.

For me, it's Samsung Galaxy J5. It's still doing quite good these days despite being used for years already c:

Reyzadren May 13th, 2017 6:52 PM

My smartphone brand/model is HTC Desire 610.

For someone who doesn't use smartphones often, it's alright, except that it lacks a physical home button and it doesn't have its own default file explorer!

LG Nexus 4. Oh, my lovely, faulty device. This thing has so many issues I could write an essay on it. I was confronted with some heavy bugs within the first week of using, now almost 3 years ago, but I liked the smoothness of the device and its OS so much that I was willing to navigate through and around the issues. Even now it can still run 500 programs on the background and function properly. Last year I finally rooted it and only flashed a different kernel because there's almost nothing I'd change about pure Android 5.1. I got all the extra configurations I wanted through Xposed modules. I love the size, OS and feel enough to overlook its - sometimes fatal - mistakes such as not turning on again, disastrous and buggy camera, bad battery life, and discontinued support. Unfortunately I also cannot run it on stock kernel anymore because the battery wouldn't survive that.

I would like to buy a new device but I have no idea what a good successor would be. I basically would like a second Nexus 4, haha.

The cell phone I have is a Motorola Droid Maxx. I have had this phone since 2014.

Banz May 16th, 2017 6:57 AM

I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. It's alright, nothing special. Can make calls, send messages, browse the web, download/stream porn, run a few applications. Specs aren't anything special and it hangs every now and then.
