Microscope, Telescope, Beaker, Ammeter.....

Title says it all....What kind of tools you have used in a science lab? Or got any at home? like Telescope! I've a galvanometer and a multimeter :p
So, share guys! xD

I've used a microscope in my school lab and I have a telescope at home, but I don't use it that often since it's not very powerful but I like using it to look at the full moon.
Amazing. <3

I've used a microscope a few times back in biology class. I liked the thing, but I would've much preferred to use a telescope. I wanna go stargazing with a telescope sometime.

Which type of telescope you have, Raffy?! One of my friend had a 76mm tabletop Dobsonian scope.....she never let me touch that xD

Well, it's an optical telescope but I don't remember the size of the lens since it has various ones that you can swap out at your liking.

we've used a microscope for observing cells and infrared spectrometer used for studying small molecules in recent science classes. both were for different projects in biology and chemistry but super interesting for sure!

I have used tools outside of the science lab! Proton precession magnetometers, gravimeters, gradiometers, ERT electrodes and geophones.

X-ray diffractometer and oscilloscopes are neat stuff too.

Oo! X-ray diffractometer :p We got one in Uni but it's not on my course !_!

So, you have seen X-ray diffractometer working or just like seen it?

@Blue: Yup! They're totally interesting. I'm not much of bio guy xD We used AgCl sample cell for infrared spectometery. What kind of sample cell you guys used?

I don't think I can list all of them. I use, uh, a lot. One of the coolest is a rheometer. Rheology is exciting stuff!

Yea, I've seen an X-ray diffractometer working. It's like watching an oversized oven shining to produce peak plots lol

Desinishon May 20th, 2017 7:02 AM

Haha I've seen videos of working X-ray diffractometer in YouTube but I was just curious to know how it feels to be there :p

@Rika: I never used a rheometer but I've read about it :p Yeh! Rheology is exciting stuff! ( most of which was over my head :p )

Tsutarja May 20th, 2017 8:14 AM

Surprised nobody here has mentioned a centrifuge yet..

gimmepie May 20th, 2017 9:48 AM

I've got a thermometer. Am I cool too?

Jotting down to what temperature your formula starts to boil is important!
