Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you?
Feraligatr in Silver. It did take a good while as I specifically remember rematching the Elite Four multiple times to level up. I did the same with Ariados not too long after. |
Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you?
It must have been my Alakazam in Blue Version. I actually taught it Tri-Attack(which was of course a physical attack at the time), and thought it was good. xD |
Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you?
It was my female Swampert in Ruby, the only female starter I ever used in the main story of a Pokemon game because after I found out about the rarity, I was always cursed with getting the common male. She now sits on my Soul Silver, after I had to call her in to beat Blue. |
Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you?
Rayquaza. LeafGreen. Transferred it over from Emerald. Took until postgame. It is, to this day, the only Pokemon I got to level 100. |
Day 7: Do you organize your PC boxes? What kind of layout do you use?
Nope lol. I orginize my bank. Day 8: Who's your favorite NPC from the Pokémon games? Why? Lillie or Gladion. idk which Day 9: Do you use your Master Ball? If there's a roaming legendary, yes. If there isn't, sometimes. Day 10: What villainous team did you like the best? Team magma, they have great uniforms. Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you? Meganium in SS. Took me sooo long lol. |
Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you?
Empoleon in Pokemon Platinum. I don't remember too well, but it might've taken about a year. |
Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you?
It was Meganium in Gold. I don't remember how long it took. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
I prefer 2D graphics. One reason is for the nostalgia factor, and the other is that 3D models sometimes look bloated up and aren't as colour vibrant as sprites. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
I do not have a real preference. I like both for their own reasons. |
Day 10: What villainous team did you like the best?
Team Rocket because of gangster style, especially Giovanni. B-) Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you? Don't really remember about first lv100 pkm, but maybe typhlosion from Gold... Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why? Not really important, until plot is interesting. But still prefer 2d, because i don't have any real experience with 3d Gen. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
It doesn't matter to me as long as the story is excellent. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
2D right now mainly because of how much I enjoyed the artwork and sprites during that time, and obviously for nostalgia value. The 3D models are growing on me gradually, Sun & Moon were a step in the right direction from XY which were quite a poor version of 3D imo. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
2D, because as I said in the other thread, they seemed more vibrant and colorful. |
Day 10: What villainous team did you like the best? - Probably Team Rocket, they were just a general team of criminals who caused trouble throughout Kanto and Johto and tbh, I enjoyed the simplicity.
Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you? - It was my Swampert on my original save of Emerald, no idea how long it took me though, I really couldn't say. Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why? - I prefer the 2D graphics, so nostalgic and in Generation 3-4, they were really beautiful. |
Day 10: What villainous team did you like the best?
It's hard for me to argue against Team Rocket; being evil just for the sake of it is usually good enough for me. Though, I did like the Team Plasma split in BW2, where half the team actually believes what they were preaching in the past, and the other half is just like, "Screw it, we're just straight up bad guys, too!" Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you? Charizard in FireRed. I'm still not necessarily a big Charizard fan, but it was my highest leveled Pokemon at the time, and I'd never had a level 100 before, so I kept grinding until I got there just to get it out of the way. Can't say how long it took since I took a lengthy break from Pokemon for a while, but once I finally committed to leveling up Charizard, it only took a few days. Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why? I liked the charm of the DS game graphics, but now that we've moved into 3D, there's no turning back. I guess I like aspects of both, but I'm definitely excited to see where 3D graphics can take us as the games move on to better technology. |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Post-game plot and Battle Frontier are things I liked the most. |
Day 10: What villainous team did you like the best?
I think Team Skull it's just your typical troublemaker at smaller scale Day 11: What was your first Pokémon to reach level 100? How long did this take you? I hardly remember, probably took several high level battles a lot on ORAS Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why? It's actually depends how they done it, 2.5D it losing it's touch and some 2nd are not much detailed |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Breeding and training new Pokémon intended for battles against real people. |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Re-battle the Elite Four, train up my team and just revisit some of my favourite areas in the region. I do tend to try and fill up my Pokédex as best as possible too. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
Because I've never had a 3DS I will say 2d. Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game? Try to fill the dexas much as possible. |
Day 12: Do you prefer 3D or 2D graphics? Why?
really depends tbh. probably 3d Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game? Idk anything really |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game? - Any plot or exploration of new areas is a really good post-game for me, the Battle Frontier is really fun too!
|
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
What post game? There hasn't been a good post game since Black 2/White 2. I just ditch the game and go back to an older game. |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Exploring the extra new routes and battling the the Battle Frontier (RIP) have been my faovrite post game things to do. |
Day 1: Your favorite and least favorite Pokémon game?
Most: Crobat Least: Garbodor Woah, it seemed that both ends of my spectrum is filled with Poison-type! |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Basically some kind of new quest like (delta episode), But Battle frontier is great too... |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
I've enjoyed the post-game quests of recent games (ORAS + Sun/Moon) and hope we see more of those soon, but my real favorite thing to do post-game is waste time in the Battle Frontier when it's there. I'd wager 2/3rds of the time I spent on Emerald was in the Battle Frontier, and a significant amount of time dedicated to it in HeartGold, too. |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Training up different Pokemon, because sometimes I love experimenting to see what works as a team. That's pretty much been my way of playing the postgame in the three most recent main series games. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
Not really, I prefer keeping myself spoiler-free. Though I do have one for Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
Sure! I wore the covers and some pages off of my Gold and Silver strategy guide. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
I did, for Ruby & Sapphire back in the day. It was my first Pokemon game, so I knew I would have needed some helpful tips and tricks. These days I just look online if I need help. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
Yup, a few times actually. I still have my Diamond & Pearl strategy guide upstairs somewhere.. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game? - Only once or twice tbh, I remember using the Diamond and Pearl one though, that was pretty cool.
|
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
Yes, I used one for both 2nd and 3rd Gen. I didn't have easy access to the internet back then, so I used them mostly for breeding purposes. |
Day 2: Most recent Pokémon game you played? What were you doing?
Pokemon Moon. I'm grinding my monotype-grass team to take on Kiawe's trial. I'm severely hampered by the typing though. :( |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
No I haven't. If I play on an emulator I look up walkthroughs online. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
Fun fact, I actually do this a lot. |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
Can't speak out of a favourite, but the one I dislike the most are evolutions via trade. |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
Level up as they feel most natural to me. Least favourite is happiness due to how tedious it can potentially be. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
No, I don't think they're really necessary for Pokemon games. Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite? My favorite evolution method is leveling up because it's the most traditional way. My least favorite is happiness because of how long it takes to obtain max happiness. |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
Standard level evolutions are the best. Trade evolutions are the worst. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
Not really, because i Love's to play games? randomly without any proper thinking! ._. Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite? Evolution by leveling up is best because it's simple and lot easier than other methods, and for me trade evolution is worst part of game. |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
I'd go for the simplest one which is the natural level-up. The worst one for me is trade evolutions, since I'm usually never able to trade. Thank god none of the new 7th Gen Pokemon evolved like that. |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
Pretty simple answers here. My favourite is leveling up and my least favourite is trading with items. |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
Leveling is the preferred method unless it's ridiculously high like a lot of late game BW pokemon had. Stone evolutions are nice too. Yeah, trading pokemon is just too much of an inconvenience and easily my least favorite. |
Day 13: What's your favorite thing to do in the post-game?
Catching more pokemon, finish post-game stuff Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game? Nope, only for gym puzzles Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite? Stones, Levels and Flipping 3DS is my fav, my dislikes are only happiness or trading (need items/without items) |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite? - Probably levelling up, I actually like the evolutionary stones too though cause they allow me to evolve a Pokemon whenever I want. Least favourite is happiness, it's so tedious.
|
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
I keep a few around for reference, don't use em much Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite? Leveling, nice and simple. Least favorite is day/night stuff because my 3ds's clock is never right lol |
Day 3: What Pokémon game do you think had the best art style?
Sun and Moon for me had the best sprites tbh. |
Day 14: Did you ever use a strategy guide for a Pokemon game?
I can recall once or twice looking up something online to help me during a part of a game, but I've never actually played along with an actual strategy guide, no. I usually like going into Pokemon games as blind as possible, so I don't see myself using any strategy guides in the near future either. Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite? There's nothing wrong with plain old evolution at a certain level, though I do prefer evolutionary stones to that. To be honest, I always wished more Pokemon would evolve via evolutionary stones, even those that evolve otherwise. Like, say you wanted to evolve a Magikarp at level 10- use a Water Stone, and boom! Gyarados. Worst evolution method is trading plus having certain conditions met. The trading part is frustrating enough at times, but I don't want to attach an item or only trade for a specific Pokemon to get an evolution. |
Since I will be gone for four days, might as well answer four days now.
Day 4: Do you battle competitively? Why or why not? When I feel like it and on showdown. I usually don't have net connections so there's it. Day 5: How were you introduced to the Pokémon games? Borrowed Gold from my cousin and played it. Had a bunch of anime CDs before that though. Day 6: If you could bring back one feature from the older Pokémon games, what would it be? Walking with pokemon. Day 7: Do you organize your PC boxes? What kind of layout do you use? nope. I play monotype now. I don't have enough pokemon to have pokemon in boxes lol |
Day 15: What's your favorite evolution method? How about your least favorite?
Favourite is evolution stones. Least is trading. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
HGSS! I love how they made everything so easy and accessible, especially for the Running Shoes. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
I'd say the 6th Gen games X/Y and OR/AS. Features like PSS, Super Training and Pokemon Amie were all easily accessible and I hear loads of praise at the PSS being the bottom screen at its best. OR/AS's extra features like DexNav made it even better. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
Heartgold and Soulsilver, they added the menu and other quick access items down there. |
Day 1: Your favorite and least favorite Pokémon game? X is my favourite, Black&White are my least favourite.
|
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
Hard to say... I'd go for X&Y on this one. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
Pokémon Bank actually. It's much easier having boxes on both screens when you're moving large numbers of creatures. I only wish this were possible in the main games. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
I liked both HG/SS and X/Y/OR/AS. Platinum was also nice. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
I think Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. A constant map, or even the DexNav, both great things. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
If I remember Gen4 have those poketech apps that utilizing very much some function, the DexNav is also added to this mentoning. Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula? NO HMs, just hoping use ride pokemon for such things |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
I only played Black on my DS. Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula? Won't miss HMs, I am interested in changing up the gym circuit. |
Day 2: Most recent Pokémon game you played? What were you doing? Sun. And as you can probably guess, I wss trading :P
|
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
HGSS became UI of menu is good and simple, also multiple options! Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula? Yeeees, I would love to see them back in future Pokémon games... |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula?
All of the above, yes. I was really surprised to discover that there was no bike shop in Alola, and would love to see it return in the Ultra versions. As for HM's, I'd prefer a middle ground between what we had before and what we had now, ie. requiring them for side quests but not the main story. |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula?
Gyms, yes, but in a different way from how we know it. HMs, no. Good riddance. Bikes, I don't know. Frankly I did nit miss it that much in SM and rarely used one in X&Y. Not that I really mis it a lot either. |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula?
I do want to see gyms and biking return, but HMs can stay far far away. |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula?
I'm definitely fine with Gyms and the bicycle, but please keep the HMs far away from me. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen? - I actually loved the Poketch in DPP but HGSS, XY and ORAS all had really good uses for the bottom screen too, so it would have to be between one of them three - I can't decide :/
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula? - Gyms and bikes are fine by me, but please don't bring HMs back, PokeRide is a million times better. |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula?
Gyms? Yes. Trials were fun, but I can't deny how much I love the format of Gyms and to me it kinda feels like something is really missing when they aren't present in a game. HMS and the Bicycle on the other hand, I'm indifferent. I'll take them or leave them. |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula.
I want gyms back if they return to giving the leaders some personality. Bikes I like, but I kinda preferred skates to be honest. And HMs can remain as far away as possible. |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula.
I would like to see Gyms and biking return, but not HMs (That's been a flawed system for years.) |
Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula.
Eh, anything works I guess? Gyms and biking would be nice. |
Day 16: Which game found the best use for the bottom screen?
Gotta be honest, even though there has been some useful stuff on the bottom screen since it's introduction, I largely ignore it where possible, which is why I loved that HG/SS just made it the menu. The AreaNav in ORAS was pretty handy though, and probably the most I made use out of the bottom screen in recent games. Day 17: Would you like to see Gyms/HMs/biking return in the future, or are you hoping for more breaks from the traditional Pokémon formula? After the introduction of Ride Pokemon, I really don't see a need for us to go back to HMs. I'm interested to see if they retcon them in future remakes, or if we'll be saddle with them again (or maybe they'll find some other workaround for them). I definitely would like to see Gyms back again at some point, and I'd be okay if they brought the bike/rollerskates back, but I could always live without them. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
I'd say Cynthia from DPP. The beat and rhythm fits so well with the tough battle she provides. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Does Tapu Koko count as a character? =P |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Wally's Theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvwL7Kyevbg |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Zinnia. I'll never get over how awesome her encounter and battle themes are. |
Day 3: What Pokémon game do you think had the best art style? HGSS. Environment were so beautiful!
|
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Pretty much a close tie between N and Ghetsis. I loved how the mood of the music went very dark with each subsequent battle with N. Ghetsis on the other hand has that "DENNIS" chord that always gives me chills to this day. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme? - Probably Zinnia as well, her theme is so cool.
|
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
There's a lot of good ones but my favorite is still Hugh's theme. In particular the version that played during that one trailer was awesome. I can definitely sense his rage when his hearing his theme. :) |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Blue. Or whatever name you want to give him. Dun dun dun dundundun. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Zinnia's theme or Red/Blue's battle theme from S/M. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
I don't truly know!, because mostly I'm silent player (mean playing games while music off) :-! But, love that trainer Red/Blue theme from Sun and Moon ;-) |
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
S.S Aqua from GSC/HGSS. I find it to be a really fun and upbeat track which is fitting since you first hear it when you're traveling to the next region. |
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
Either Viridian Forest or Driftveil City. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
Red from HGS/SS I guess Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack? Driftve or Castelle City |
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
I'd probably say Opelucid City in BW/B2W2 because it has two different variants based on the version, which also fit with its different appearance between versions. |
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
Too difficult to name one. The Pokémon OST has so many cool tracks I can't pick a favorite. |
Day 4: Do you battle competitively? Why or why not? I don't. Back in Gen 4 my whole team got annihilated by one single Weavile. I've been satly at comp since.
|
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
My favorite soundtrack is Sinnoh Route 216/217. The song has a calm start, then goes to a cheery tune. |
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
Route 10 from B/W :p |
Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack?
The small area before heading up N's castle, lol. The area last like a few seconds, but I remember just staying there to listen to the song. N's bridge is what I think it's referred to. |
Day 20: Have you tried any challenge runs? If so, how did they go?
I've tried a few nuzlockes. Failed them all or just gave up because I forgot to nickname a Pokemon. |
Day 20: Have you tried any challenge runs? If so, how did they go?
I tried a Nuzlocke or Wedlocke, but I just don't have the heart to permanently let go of a team member. |
Day 20: Have you tried any challenge runs? If so, how did they go?
I tried a monotype, and my brother lost the game cartridge :P |
Day 20: Have you tried any challenge runs? If so, how did they go?
I did a solo Pokemon run on White (Serperior), which I successfully finished. I also have a Diamond nuzlocke that's going well, but it's paused because I got bored of the game. |
Day 18: Which character has the coolest battle theme?
I can't think of any right now. Day 19: Which area has the coolest soundtrack? Victory road, Ruby/Sapphire. Day 20: Have you tried any challenge runs? If so, how did they go? Not tried any yet. |
Day 20: Have you tried any challenge runs? If so, how did they go?
I attempted two nuzlocke runs of Platinum and failed miserably. First time I reached the Galactic HQ place in Eterna City and got k.oed by Jupiter, second time I reached Eterna City once again but got k.oed by Gardenia. |
