How fast is your internet?

Back by popular demand! not really

So PC, what are your internet speeds like? Do you wish they were faster, or maybe slower? Are you satisfied as is with your current connection?

Anyways, let's head on over to speedtest.net and test away! 8)

Here's my latest result!

You don't want to know what it was before Monday, trust me. The download speed is usually a bit faster, and I'm not in the same room either so the signal is weaker. But even so. I love my new internet <3

Considering that 5 months ago I had a radio antenna on my roof which offered me only 4 Mbps in download and 256 Kbps in upload, this is really good.

Radio antenna? Do you not have a traditional internet connection with fiber and/or copper going to your home?

I have fiber now, it finally arrived here last August, but I subscribed only this January because I was still bonded to my Radio ISP whose antenna looked something like this:

Even before that I had a practically non-existent ADSL (traditional copper) connection which was supposed to go up to 7 Mbps, but the usual speeds were lower (3/4 Mbps) and it also suffered from severe and frequent slowdowns:

Luckily, it all ended well and I now have a pretty decent Internet connection and I'm happy with it. {:3}

Hmm, as for me, I have (mostly) no changes from previous threads, but all in all, I'm satisfied with this speed for now.

It would be so much better if I didn't have the world's worst WiFi card.

I'm on a 50Mb plan but can get up to 60Mb on a good day. Finally on fibre after years of ADSL.

Sothis May 29th, 2017 4:44 AM

We have fibre here but it's only offered by bell which is the worst provider in the history of the internet.
My dad has a cable hookup, it's faster there D:

I miss Verizon as my ISP :( although we still have "FiOS," Frontier's customer service is terrible compared to Verizon's.

I hope I don't have to move away from them when they raise my bill next year.

Just did another test, over WiFi like last time. Not much different, but I am really impressed.

my internet speed is horrible :( i can't even watch my favorite anime T_T

Sawsbuck August 4th, 2017 12:10 PM

Faster than when we had Comcast
12.3 mbps download
5.43 mbps upload
I used a different speed test because the other one seemed to be way off (it doesn't help that it used a different service provider)

Lusus August 7th, 2017 6:42 AM

My current one is one of those 1Gb bandwith a day then 50kbp every other second connections atm. I hate it.

Can't wait for proper internet to be set up sometime next month, we are going to have 21mbps connection which is decent.

Cersei Lannister August 7th, 2017 5:17 PM

Pretty fast. I'll be linking because I'm pretty sure you guys don't want to have a huge screen (on mobile).

At least thankful that moving to a new city didn't at all hinder my internet.
