Hmm...

Odd, I think I've only posted here two times since October. Now that I stand on summer's bittersweet doorstep, I've found the time to look upon the place again. I supposed I would just let PC self-destruct without my futile presence...all that remained was to see whether it would be reborn or not. I'm not completely sure what to ask here or what to say--I see that a lot of the old guard is gone, as if PC has been passed on to a new generation. I don't expect any of you to remember me or even care about this post; the momentary musings of a former member are inconsequential in a PC many times larger than I had previously noticed. All that is noteworthy that has happened since I have left I know fully; the few friends from here who I still speak with are reliable suppliers of information. I suppose all I want to ask is if everything is alright here, and if malice has retreated to the dark corners of PC. Then again, I have not read any posts here in a very long time, and I have always refused to enter that most accursed dome, so the chaos may be alive and well, and every member may be at each others' throats, with all the needless invective and vitriol and mindless flamethrowing of any internet war of opinions, but all invisible to me. Which is it? How is my old haunt of PC? Does her heart still beat, or is she dead, and merely a colony for maggots? Does anything of the old order still exist? Is there goodness?

...Kindness?

...Civility?

...Peace?

Ryoutarou May 25th, 2005 10:11 AM

Well, the dome is gone so you don't have to worry about that. Still, without actually posting around for yourself and just holding onto memories of the past you're not going to be able to move on. Sure at times PC was better in the past, but it was also bad at times too. Things change, people change, but you won't be able to see any of that without trying it out for yourself. You can't just hold onto the past and hope everything will stay the same, you have to take the good and the bad and learn from that.

PC will never be the same as it was back then, but even now it's still great. If PC never changed, it would be boring, a lot of times people shun new members and somehow think they're eating away at PC. But the truth is, people move on with life, older members stay and leave all the time. Nothing can be done about it, but you don't have to be bitter or anything about it. You let them live their lifes as you make your own choices, based on what you wanna do, not what others do. Either way, thinking in such a negative matter won't ever help because someone or something isn't going the exact way you want it. See, the dome has been gone for a while and you still thought members were at each other, you won't ever learn without looking at things on your own.

Annnnnyways, done with that rant. Glad to see you again XD

Shiney May 25th, 2005 10:20 AM

Mihara is right about that. Things change, there are good times, and bad, no matter what the situation is. PC is still great, but in my opinion, if there's any major problem, it's that a sizeable ammount of the members aren't interested in making friends, but the majority of people on PC are still civil, and kind. As for peace, if you mean flame wars, I certainly haven't seen much as of late.

I certainly rmember you, and I hope you're here to stay. ^_^

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 10:23 AM

Hmm...you reason things out well, Mihara. No doubt you make a good praetor.

It's not so much a matter of holding on to the past as worrying about the state of the present. When I was here, I was always very welcoming to new people (I abhorred the term n00b and things of that nature), and I'm glad to see that there is still life here. Regarding the gigantic influx of new people since my time, I'm by no means upset about it. I'm just hoping that this generation will treat PC and each other like mine did (that is, until my generation tore it apart.)

I can't help but miss the way things were at times, but I do try to be an optomist, and I would my no means condemn PC for any changes. I did condemn it in the past, but that time is gone. The point of this post was just to get a pulse of PC, to attract a cross-section of its inhabitants into replying and, thus, summing up today's PC for me. I'm actually just curious right now. But, Mihara, thanks for replying. I just hope that I've now cleared up that I wasn't trying to sound bitter. ^_^

Ah, well it's normal for people to miss how things were. Even I do at times, but I'm able to accept that things have to grow, no reason you have to forget how times were though, I still think back about that stuff a lot, I know you weren't trying to sound bitter or anything, but you have to take the things you've learned and use them to make the current state of things better.

And, why do I get the felling you don't remember me?XD

Forest Grovyle May 25th, 2005 10:33 AM

Hi! ^_^ I remember you! I still really love PC :D I don't think it's degenerated at all, and there are loads of newer members who are really great and who are really good friends of mine! :) But there are still a lot of the older members here, so there's a good balance. Some of the older members may have left, but I still love the atmosphere here. ^_^

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 10:33 AM

Believe me, I wish I could be a force for good here, but my chance to be something ended long ago here XP

I might not remember you because you've apparently changed your name from something I did know ^^;

Yep, I totally agree with you.

And Adam...Who else would use an all blue layout?XD

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 10:38 AM

Ah, Forest Grovyle, the resident artist. It's good to see that you're still here and cheerful about it all. ^___^

I have a feeling that this is going to turn into an episode of "This is your life" XP

*~Ashley~* May 25th, 2005 10:42 AM

*coughit'sJorgecough* XD

Does this mean you've actually come back? ^^ And of course I remember you... afterall, you did come back just to wish me a happy birthday... a day late, but it was still really sweet!

And yeah, I agree about all that stuff about how it used to be... that's why I only lurked for about half a year. Now I've found a way to fit in with everyone again. I still think it was better a year ago... but it's not all bad today either. Times change. <_<;

Claire May 25th, 2005 10:42 AM

..but what about the pink cute bunny layout you once used, blue?...oh, was i not meant to mention that?...XD

Ya, don't worry about PC ^0^ it's only continuing to grow and evolve
And yesh, i remember your name X3 mine was df dadragonz

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 10:48 AM

Ashley! *tackle-hugs* It's good to see that you've managed to come back as well. If you can do it, I suppose I can find a way. I really need to talk with you on MSN sometime...I have this terrible habit of taking month-long absences from MSN (not intentionally, of course!) And I did get your greeting to you a day late, which I'm sorry for--the whole 3-18 connection didn't come into my mind until the morning of 3-19 x_x

Jorge, you're a praetor now? They couldn't have picked a better guy!!!!!! I had an inkling it was you, but I didn't want to mess up and guess that it be someone entirely different XP I'm so proud of you, man, you're finally on top!

And Claire, I most certainly remember you when you were df dadragonz.

So glad to see you all survived!

~CK

Phoenix Riley May 25th, 2005 12:32 PM

Now that that you are back does that mean Sillent tattsu will come back?

You see Im Phoenix Boy's (or James's) Cousion and he really misses her (does that make sense to you?)

Kyogre-chan May 25th, 2005 12:49 PM

Kaga! Good to see you back! ^_^; Even though we really didn't know one another very much at all, you were still one of my most favoured members. Anyway...

PC has changed a lot since you left. A lot of new staff were hired; some to replace those who were fired, and others to replace the staff who moved on. Members followed too. We've been shafting from server to server for the last few months too, amongst many other things. But hey, such is life.

Oddly enough, I was thinking yesterday about how I really wish the older members would return. o.o;

Uh... not really. :P

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 2:04 PM

Aww, thanks for the compliment, Kyogre-chan. I certainly remember you from the old days too...it's good to see that you still go here ^^

And I don't really think Tatt will ever be back, Mudkip ._.; I talk to her on MSN from time to time, and I think she's moved on with her life. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ;_;

No, no, I most certainly remember you! We had a couple of nice chats on AIM from time to time, among other things on the forums. I have a halfway-decent memory in most circumstances XP

I certainly do. ^^ I've grown so attached to PC over the eight (certainly doesn't feel that way) or so months that I've remained active.

Sorano May 25th, 2005 2:18 PM

Omfgwtf! O_O I remember you! You're that...weird guy. X3 You probably dont remember little ol' Legendary_Pokegirl do ya//~? XD Well if ya dont, thats alright I guess. X3 Its a thrill to have ya back! =] *clings*

~Karli

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 2:25 PM

You bet I was the weird guy...my policy is either stand out from the very beginning or be doomed to obscurity. And of course I remember you, Karli! You were everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. It was almost like you were omnipresent and could be everywhere at PC at once XP Good times.

Come to think of it, since summer's coming up, I'm really considering coming back! o_o;

Kyogre-chan May 25th, 2005 2:34 PM

Omnipresent? Sounds like me. XP

You're certainly welcome to return if you wish. ^^ I'd like that... but, I guess it's your choice.

Ryoutarou May 25th, 2005 2:34 PM

That would be SOOOOOOO cool if you could come back. I call dibs on starting a fanclub! XD

Sorano May 25th, 2005 2:36 PM

Meh, I dont think I was magical enough to be everywhere on PC at once. XD

Oh yes, please consider coming back to PC this summer~! ^___^ That would be wonderfully wonderful! =3

Chairman Kaga May 25th, 2005 2:37 PM

Alright then, you've got dibs Jorge XP Expect me to being regular posting on sunday...that's graduation day which means I'm going to be fresh out of friends (all my friends are seniors ._______. )
