"I only want one thing."

Most of us have an extensive wishlist for what we'd like to see - and wouldn't like to see - in USUM. So, if you had the power to add any one thing - be it a gameplay feature, a Pokemon, a character, a story event; whatever - OR to prevent one thing from being in the games, what would it be, and why?

No limits on this, this is pure wish-fulfilment fantasy. Open your heart and let your imagination run wild.

Alexander18 July 27th, 2017 12:23 AM

Good story and good post game. That is what i ask. I am confident that this would happen.

BlazingCobaltX July 27th, 2017 12:41 AM

VS Seeker or some kind of trainer rebattle feature, please GameFreak.

(Or even more unrealistic: a revamp of the Battle Tree á la Battle Frontier.)

LilyGardy July 27th, 2017 5:54 AM

Realistically all Mega Stones available from the start. Mega Altaria is STILL not available in Gen 7. Having half the Mega Stones as more or less event items was one of the worst ideas this Gen and there is no reason they should not all be available in USUM.

Less realistically USUM needs to stop with the Gen 1 pandering. I play SM to see the new Pokemon not catch Pinsir or Fearow.

I'm gonna be boring and say following Pokemon to return, it's pretty cliche but I'd love to see it on the 3D engine.

riddlemeree July 27th, 2017 11:05 AM

A really good story. If that's too vague, difficulty modes, with the highest setting actually being genuinely hard. Please GameFreak!

I don't have many hopes right now due to the lack of news, so I'm just going to also agree in that a great postgame should be a thing. Considering this game is like B2/W2, Platinum and Emerald, I have a feeling that will happen.

B2/W2 are more sequels than third versions though, Platinum and Emerald are nearly the same as the original pair of games. Right now US/UM seems like they'll just be paired third versions types which would be disappointing and excessive. I'm hoping though US/UM are more like B2/W2 instead of two, third versions games, but I doubt it.

I knew that, but B2/W2 still do the typical third version extra features such as Move Tutors. I'm pretty sure that US/UM will have a completely different story, similar to B2/W2.

megas, alolan forms, whatever they are going to add- to pokemon other then gen 1 pokemon

pixelani July 29th, 2017 6:26 PM

A big, shiny, brand new Battle Frontier as a part of the post game content. That's literally all I care about - they could be identical to Sun and Moon and add a Frontier and I'd declare them the holy grail of gaming.

More returning characters, like Lucy and Dahlia, are welcomed and absolutely encouraged, but I also want a brand new set of Frontier Brains.

Alexander18 July 29th, 2017 6:31 PM

I am not expecting a battle frontier since that feature is dead. GF shut that down when ORAS confirmed that the BF is not returning.

I like to see some dragon users to appear in USUM. Maybe some well known ones?

I doubt it's totally dead. After all, those of us who wanted it were loud enough they were forced to make a comment!

On that note about Dragon specialists, though, I agree - and Ice-type specialists need to show up as well, since Unova is the first region without a notable one, despite introducing two beautiful dual-type Ice Alola forms.

Well you are welcome to wish for a battle frontier. I just don't see it in USUM or DP remakes for that matter.

Ice types do need some attention. So users of that type is fine.

You were meant to say Alola. But yes, I do agree in that it was weird we didn't have a notable Ice-type specialist in S/M, though I guess Sina could be considered an Ice specialist (while Dexio was a Psychic specialist) as the battles against her showed.

I actually forgot about Sina completely, I only battled her the one required time! It would be nice to either have Alola's own Alola-native charater introduced, or have a post-game match with Sina at far higher levels, much like we had with Dexio.

Thank you for catching the brain fart I had there, lots of regions on my mind right now.

Exactly!
I want '3D' rental battles.

Lets hope GF will reconsider, as many seem to still ask for a BF.

Alexander18 July 31st, 2017 12:19 AM

I wouldn't count on GF reconsider bringing back the BF. Gen 5 & 6 never had it. I don't think gen 7 would either.

I like for the island guardians to be available during the story. I like to be able to get them without waiting for post game.

i really want there to be pokemon following you around, becuase its so nostalgic. i recently replayed soul silver, and it was so fun. in my opinion, johto is better than kanto, and johto pokemon deserve more. kanto has been in the limelight for long enough. i never played emerald, so i dont know about the battle frontier, but if its competitive battling, then i dont want it. i dont mind things like that, but for someone who likes an ingame challenge, instead of a competitive play. we had enough of those, with many games the 6th gen almost completely concentrating on competitive play, except for a few features. the looker event and the delta episode were short, but atleast in oras, i loved it. i want something the the white tree hollow, but with a more interactive and rewarding prize. i also want the oras snek feature to return. i dont even know why.it just feels soooooo good. but yeah. more post game. plus, if gyms could return as a post game thing, then that would rock. and also, a non-competitive version of PWT. i dont know why poeple dont want this. maybe because of nostalgia for the battle frontier, but as unova being one of my most nostalgic regions, i really want a non competitive pwt, where you can battle older gym leaders, kahunas, trail captains, random trainers, champions, Red, if posiible, Gold, the sun from Sun and Moon, and other heroes in other games. this would be awesome, becuase it would be mtsilver all over again. battling YOURSELF, even if the trainer has different pkms. it would be rewarding as heck. i really want his, and a dope story, with less annoying characters, with doper designs. lillie didnt have a bad design, but she was pissing off. Hapu, i just wanted to kill. Her design looks like a child, but thats not the annoying part. its her attitude. THE ENNNNNNNNNND. whatever. i probably wont get these anyways.

Alexander18 July 31st, 2017 2:30 AM

Thankfully i think it is safe to say that following pokemon will not be featured in USUM. HGSS basically owns that feature and i hope it keeps it.

I want to see a Dragon trial captain that is battlable doing story and postgame.

pixelani July 31st, 2017 7:58 AM

Gen 6 might have been lacking in a Frontier-style post game experience, but Gen 5 had the Pokémon World Tournament in its place as an entirely different project with ultimately similar scale. So really, Gen 6 is the first fully completed generation since Gen 2 to only have one Battle Tower style facility and nothing else; it's pretty likely that USUM will have something more extensive than just an upgraded Battle Tree. That's what a lot of the dev work really goes toward in third versions and sequels, the post-game experience; it's also something that is likely planned out during the first outlines of the generation, and reserved for later games due to the work that goes into it. A year is enough time for them to come up with something. Heck, even ORAS, which were just remakes, had an entire significant plot arc developed for the post-game.

As for walking Pokémon, that's another feature I'd really like to see - as I've discussed in another thread before, the animations are all there, and overworld Pokémon don't take too much processing power. It's really just a question of implementation. I hope it's optional if it's included, though - I know I'm not going to want to use it the whole time.

Foreigner55 July 31st, 2017 9:45 AM

Only one thing eh? Than I want the ability to add three more things! In all seriousness I would like the main character to be a bit more expressive. Lusamine literally revealed herself to be a terrible abusive parent and the MC is just standing there... Smiling. Sun and moon was probably one of the darkest Pokemon games ever and all the MC does is stand there... And smile.

SaniOKh July 31st, 2017 9:50 AM

A more extensive world, that's all I ask.

Make all the islands accessible from one another via Surf, and put in new small islands with caves and forests in between. I want to explore this world at my own rythm. As much as I liked SM, I felt that "railroaded" didn't even begin to describe it.

thedestinedblade July 31st, 2017 8:49 PM

If you're gonna make the first island into one long-winded tutorial again then at least give us the option to skip scenes!

Phyrrhic July 31st, 2017 9:02 PM

Return of Gyms.

Less focus on story/more focus on gameplay.
