What's your Internet Provider?

What's your internet provider, and how fast is it? Are you happy with it?

EC August 13th, 2017 12:46 PM

Spectrum, formerly known as Time Warner Cable. Never had any problems. Ever.

Starry Windy August 13th, 2017 8:57 PM

Currently I'm using the net from Telkom Indonesia. I like how it's pretty fast nowadays. Most of the time I use it without any problems. If there's some occasion when I can't connect to the net at times, I think it's more like some hiccups on the network department and they got it fixed hours later.

Sawsbuck August 13th, 2017 9:16 PM

Mine is Wow not particularly great but the best option we have right now
Used to have Scamcast up until 7 years ago

I have Telecom Italia, it holds almost all the fiber and landlines we got in the coutry. Not the cheapest ISP, I feel that the monthly fee could be a bit lower, but at least it's good.

Tsutarja August 16th, 2017 8:37 AM

Frontier FiOS. We were taken over by Frontier Communications from Verizon last year, and while there was hardly any change in service, I don't like that we won't be getting gigabit anytime in the near future, because Frontier is several billion in debt, while Verizon started building up a gigabit network last year after the sale of my geographical area to Frontier.

AT&T. Some of my old buddies back when I was only on the discord remember that it was a dumpster fire, but after 5 or so visits from AT&T, they finally actually fixed the problem. It's now hella fast, and plays like an absolute dream.
Edit... excuse me wtf is that formatting?

I think it's a known problem now where certain characters (like ampersands) are not rendering properly on the forum. Hopefully it's fixed soon!

We have Mediacom for our provider. They are pretty good with things, and I like them. It’s way better than being stuck with century link. A lot of people said they are awful. So, we went with Mediacom.

Eastlink, it's the biggest one in atlantic canada

Radiating November 11th, 2017 7:54 PM

Comcast cable, one of the biggest ISP in the United States. My Wifi has pretty fast speeds, although there has been times where it randomly slows down for no reason.

Desox November 11th, 2017 8:04 PM

Antel, aka the state, aka the best one available. It's real good! The price is not expensive, and the speed rates are fantastic. 60/10 plus cheaper Netflix plus Spotify, wow.

WiFi is not an accurate way to measure speed accuracy at all. As for why it can slow down at times, it may be due to interference from your neighbors' WiFi access points transmitting on the same (or neighboring) channel as yours.

I too have Spectrum atm. Internet connection drops on occasion but easily fixable, and the speed is fine for me.

AT&T

god help me, but they're the least shitty ISP to choose from in my area.

TY November 12th, 2017 1:49 AM

Ziggo NL

from time to time it's godawful with some things they do, at least wireless. On the cable everything is smooth and great internet speeds too.

I love hearing my parents whine about the internet being awful when I have 200 mb/s down and no issues :>

God bless Eastlink. Have it out here in Western Canada and it's the fastest ISP by far in our city, they even offer gigabit and it's pretty steep but it's worth it. We started with a 40Mbps package, and were upped twice to 150 (As far as I know) Mbps so far. It could be faster now but I don't know if our hardware is able to keep up or not. The upload is rather dismal though - a mere 10 Mbps.

Yeah it's pretty good and reasonable prices! Plus is not capped when you get a package. We're thinkin on getting phone and internet in our apartment when we move.
Mm, I don't really upload much so I don't care there haha

Sothis November 12th, 2017 10:59 AM

Yeah it could be different, but who would even use a TB

Kikaito plush November 12th, 2017 12:39 PM

my provider is Virgin media the one you can get it the UK

Arsenic November 12th, 2017 5:48 PM

I have Time War- Wait... Spectrum, I mean!!

I pay good money extra for half the speed of the base bundle package on the other side of the country with Cox (at least from what the radio ad says)

The Xfinity my grandmother has is way cheaper and way better too.

Spectrum sucks. Even if they have Star Citizen stuff in their business commercial.

I honestly feel bad for new customers who sign up for Spectrum in areas where Time Warner Cable (and Bright House Networks) used to serve. Before the takeover, both Time Warner and Bright House had many more speed options to choose from, whereas with Spectrum you only have two: Base and Ultra.

Base is either 60/6 or 100/10 depending on where you live, whereas Ultra is either 100/10 or 300/20, and ordering and/or upgrading to Ultra from Base requires a $199 fee as well. It's purely stupid to have to pay $199 just to have your modem reprovisioned, and Spectrum gets away with it.

Oh, need I mention that they have no plans to roll out DOCSIS 3.1 in the near future, whereas companies like Comcast already have?

Mmmm... I think they let us keep our current plan, which was 50mbps or something for $40-50 extra on the base plan.
