I wonder how many legacy devices are going to be supported with this release. Hopefully LineageOS picks it up quickly and will have a build ready for my two devices.

Meanwhile, LG didn't release Android 7.0 yet for the LG G4, good job. Excited to see what new features it will bring though. :)

Again, this right here is a case of where I'd go with a custom ROM just to continue receiving Android's updates.

I would believe me, but I'm really scared to do that. D:

It's not that hard to really do it. have you never done it?

So that certain leak is correct about Android O's announcement date, then? I hope the next version of Android will be a good one. And I'm curious on the new powers and features the Android O will have, as well.

I've been speculating that Android O would be Oreo since the release of Nougat. Pumped to try this out :D

Not many drastic changes to get me excited over anything. I've read that Android O will allow you to choose the codec used for bluetooth so if you have a aptx compatible headphone then you can choose it within settings.

Will have to see for myself when it comes out on custom Roms

LG is a special case, keep in mind. A lot of their recent devices have OEM locks that can only be removed with a special code. Those codes are only distributed for European models, rendering American models unmoddable. I think they're the only company that actively prevents users from rooting their devices.

If you're using a G4, and it's an American models, double check which carrier it's from, I think Verizon variants can be unlocked as well, otherwise you're SOL.

How are LG devices hardware-wise? If they aren't too-notch, then that would be a sure fire reason for me to avoid them, even if they were affordable.

Also, hopefully they don't stuff their devices with useless bloatware either.

LG devices are pretty good hardware wise, the LG G4 for example is equipped with a Snapdragon 808 with 6 cores and 3 gigabytes of RAM. Also there was almost no bloatware, something which I really appreciated.

Ooh, so it seems that Android O's full name is revealed, folks!

Spoiler:

I'm digging into the introduction video, taking advantages of solar eclipse and all (and something delish too ;)). I'll look forward to see it in the next Android phones, and I hope it will be more secure just like what's said in the video.
