ive contributed to the negativity, but its definitely something we should turn around

Yeahh, I've noticed this a bit, too. Lots of threads being made that can easily spiral into negativity while still being on-topic. It's fine to do, but it should be balanced out with more positive (and not just light-hearted but self-positivity) threads.

Off-topic coup?

Off-topic coup?

I think people are noticing the negativity and I think recently there have been some more positive threads, but its still an issue for sure.

I'm trying to be less negative myself too, because if you think negative then negative things will happen.

negativity is gross

noa October 29th, 2017 9:58 PM

I don't think negativity is inherently gross. What's gross is how people respond to negativity. When I'm negative I either talk it out with someone close to me, or with myself. A lot of people bottle it up and it seeps out and affects the people around them.

pkmin3033 October 29th, 2017 10:03 PM

I don't honestly think I have a negative self-perception. It just is what it is.

Tsutarja October 30th, 2017 5:48 AM

I can't stand the thought of negativity and if it comes around to me, all I just do is separate myself from the world until it's gone.

pkmin3033 October 30th, 2017 6:41 AM

I did that for a while, but things didn't really go away. So I just learned to live with it.

Sawsbuck October 30th, 2017 7:01 AM

I had been feeling pretty negative so I stop using Adderall which I was taking for my focus problems and things have improved greatly

moon October 30th, 2017 7:12 AM

o god can we change the topic to something less dreary already

TY October 30th, 2017 7:14 AM

I just had the day of my life, school being cancelled today, internship interview gone amazingly 8)

as someone with Negativity Disorder (depression), it's just gross for me because i cannot stand my own negative thoughts which plague me constantly. it is rather exhausting to put up with and which is mostly why, for the most part, i've tried putting on a face of optimism.

i suppose if you deal with your negativity positively by venting it to others it can be beneficial, but the thought still lingers in my mind that im being a burden on others by unloading my own pain on them, thus im generally unlikely to do so.

it'd be about the best job opportunity i will have, considering my whole resume is just shitty retail and customer service. this job will actually have something to do with what I want to do in the future, which is tech stuff.

sure, it's a help desk role, but it's a start. and it's relevant stuff i can put on my resume to further my tech career, to boot!

A start is always good! And if it helps on the resume it's even better! Hope you land it c:

pkmin3033 October 30th, 2017 7:40 AM

Desk roles aren't so bad, really. At least you don't have to move about too much.

string555 October 30th, 2017 9:13 AM

That's good, I wish I could be doing almost anything working with a computer. I like my job, but I would much rather have that kind of job. One day! :D

Sawsbuck October 30th, 2017 9:38 AM

I get way too distracted when I'm supposed to use a computer lol

Tsutarja October 30th, 2017 12:03 PM

A desk job isn't so bad if your boss is lenient and you're allowed to visit your sites when not overly busy, such as what I can do at both of my jobs.

noa October 30th, 2017 1:08 PM

I would do anything for a desk job. I love computers and my retail job is literally slowly destroying my body. I think the best job is a mixture of the two though.

pkmin3033 October 30th, 2017 1:19 PM

As long as the job has variety, I think it's a lot better than it could be. Doing the same thing all day, every day is a nightmare. Especially if it's something like scanning or photocopying...or dealing with rude and inconsiderate customers.

noa October 30th, 2017 1:28 PM

I actually once had a gig photocopying/scanning for several hours a day. I actually didn't mind at all since I could listen to music/play game in between scanning lol

Tsutarja October 30th, 2017 1:36 PM

Sometimes I have to deal with students who can be problematic but for the most part the students who come into interaction with me are the ones who do care about their education

string555 October 30th, 2017 1:44 PM

Oh yeah, doing factory style work is not so bad when you get to do different stuff every day, but if it was the same thing day in and day out, I would lose it. (@[email protected])

Okay, correction, I would lose it even more than normal. :P

Sothis October 30th, 2017 1:54 PM

Yeah I'd hate factory line work, I need variety
