Spiders
Earlier today I looked over and about three inches from my face was a big creepy hairy spider
I hate spiders. What are your opinions and stories on them? |
I destroy them
|
No spider escapes death once it's sighted.

I just ignore them, I likely have at least 100 in my room...somewhere
|
I don't mess with spiders. I am absolutely terrified of them and I cannot even be in the same room with them without panicking.
|
i have a severe fear of spiders to the point where its a major problem. if there is a spider web on my car door or side mirror i either climb to the drivers seat via other places in the car or i just say fuck it and walk away. today i was trying to take the garbage bin to the curb and it had spiders all over it. i sat there staring at the spiders for maybe twenty minutes trying to get the guts to brush maybe one off.
don't get me wrong, i don't hate spiders. i can't hate them when they eat annoying bugs like flies and mosquitos. i just don't want them near me, blocking my everyday routine. i feel bad about killing spiders too so i get someone else to do it for me or i just leave them be. |
I'll will leave them alone unless trapped in the bath then I'll put an towel hang down from the d=side so it can climb out.
|
I don't mind spiders as long as they aren't crawling on me so I don't go out of my way to kill them. Though just a few days ago I had a large spider on my hat and just put him on the ground to run away. I don't get the creeps from spiders, instead I over-react when I see a cockroach or wasp.
|
I'm only scared of large spider. I'll roll the newspaper and *splat*. Die.
|
I love spiders. Just like having a cat is a good way to keep mice away, keeping spiders around ensures that the annoying insect(ie. flies, mosquitoes, and even wasps if the web is strong enough) populations are reduced,
|
Spiders are adorable. :3
That being said, I wouldn't want to live somewhere were they have a lot of the big-sized ones. :O As long as they're small and don't look poisonous, I have no problem with them crawling on me. |
Quote:
Zero percent of the spiders in my part of the world are poisonous, so I'm a little more at ease sharing my space with them. Otherwise I'd be more than a little concerned if I saw a species I didn't recognize. |
I really don't mind spiders at all, infact if anything I feel a bit sorry for them, they get such a bad rep.
Same with moths, no idea why people are so afraid of them. |

Now, if some mad scientist combined moths with tarantulas, a big, winged, hairy spider, that would be scary. :O
|
Little ones I tend to leave alone.
Bigger ones I might leave alone, especially if they keep their distance. Big ones? ....No guarantee of anything. I can't say anything about my cat leaving them alone, though. :P Though thankfully most of the bigger ones here tend to stay outside (my windows are at ground level here, so it's easy enough for spiders and other things to crawl in), and all I've seen recently are little tiny ones that I don't even bother with. Oh, and if they decide to hang from the ceiling and say hi (that has happened to me once), they're probably getting squashed if I can find them again. Assuming I haven't already run away from the spot and refused to go back there at all. There was much flailing that night on my end. |

Evacuate my house, and proceed to burn it to the ground.
On a more serious note, I remember when there was this huge jumping spider in the middle of my kitchen, and I had just gotten up for school and headed to the dryer for some clothes. I kept throwing shit at it, and of course, I kept missing. Lets say... I didn't go to school that day :P |
in the apartment we rented for the last year of uni, we had a spider roommate that was almost as big as my hand! i'm absolutely terrified of large spiders but thankfully said spider never actually bothered us until we were packing up to leave. i'm guessing it didn't want us to leave :(
|
OMG OMG OMG KILL IT WITH FIRE!
Joking aside, as long as the little critters stay OUT of my personal space and bubble, I ignore them. If they crawl at me or try to hunt my space, I'M GONNA HUNT THE LITTLE BUGGER DOWN AND SMACK AND SQUISH IT! Seriously spiderbro, your life is forfeit if I see you too close to me. I don't have time to find out if you're cute and harmless or mean and venomous. |
Seeing a spider in my room is almost guaranteed to give me a sudden adrenaline rush because I think I still have a slight fear of them. It's especially bad when the spider is running on the wall close to my bed - I don't want any unwanted guests in my sleeping environment (or anywhere else either really)!
Also last night I had a dream where I peeked into a sewer and instead of a clown there was this huge hairy spider just staring back at me with all its eight eyes. |
As a kid I absolutely hated spiders. Nowadays I can easily pick them up and throw them out (The small ones that is)

i hate spiders and seeing them irl and even seeing pictures of them freaks me out. i usually have my mom or sister kill them for me

I hate spiders I kill them if possible they bother me.

I don't mind spiders all that much really. I can't say I'm overly keen on having larger ones in my personal space, but I'm not scared of them or anything.
Now, craneflies...THOSE need to be killed on sight. They exist solely to fly into your face. Little bastards. |
Spiders are icky and yuck.
Still hate on the one that bit me all those years ago. No spidey powers either. lol I don't see how anyone can put up with them. |

Especially that one time I found in my hair... death immediately. |
I can't stand spiders. If there's a spider around, or even if the spider has been killed... I swear, I won't go into the room it was killed in for a while. I don't know why. They just creep me out so badly that I feel like I want to scream bloody murder. :| I do like Jumping Spiders. They are so cute... I mean how can you not find this adorable:

The rest are pure evil. |
I like spiders. I have some bathroom spiders in my basement that I leave alone because their webs show that they're getting other bugs down there. At work I've escorted many spiders out the building lol
|
They're huge at times.
|
I personally really like spiders. I used to be afraid of them, but after watching videos about some of them, they kinda grown on me a bit. Personal favorite kind would be the Jumping spiders, namely the Green, Metallic Green, and Daring species of them. I would even like to hold one and have one as a pet. Only ones I'm not a fan of are the very venomous like the Brazilian Wandering Spider or the very aggressive ones like the Sydney Funnel Web Spider.
|
I don't consider myself a squeamish person at all, but I guess I have a bit of a phobia of spiders and insects since I really can't deal with them myself and I always have to get someone else to kill/remove them for me.
In the past, my dad has tried to "train" me to not be afraid of them by leaving their carcasses near me or just shoving them in my face, which is kind of funny now that I think about it, but even the sight of the dead bodies kind of freak me out so I guess that didn't work, lol |
Hate them. Always have, always will.
I remember an ex-boyfriend decided to take advantage of that fact by killing one and then chasing me around with it until I was curled up fetal position in the corner of a bathroom ;-; |
I'm cool with tarantulas as pets, and sometimes I see a tiny ant-sized bb spider that I think is adorable, but I will definitely kill any other spider I see in my house. They don't particularly scare me, but the idea of a spider roaming free in my house makes me uncomfortable, and I usually don't want to spend the time trapping it/putting it outside.
I always apologize to the spider before killing it, though. |

I'm afraid of spiders....
But I never leave a chance to flatten them on the wall or the floor :p |
Spiders are cool. The old house I lived at was infested, and the spiders loved hanging out in the shower. I would always watch them hang above me. Last week, while I was chasing a tennis ball, I ran through a web and got bitten. It wasn't painful like I thought a spider bite would be.
|
Spiders make me nervous. However, I'm more afraid/ bothered by Wasps than any of the other creepy crawlies. When one gets in my room, it has to be removed or killed no matter what. I sometimes even flee my room at least once upon seeing them flying around or in my window. It probably doesn't help that I was attacked and stung by at least a couple of them as a kid, at the same time.
