Charizard_Fire_God June 2nd, 2005 1:12 PM

Allstories June 2nd, 2005 1:19 PM

Not only is this the wrong forum, these are completely different types of gaming systems and are difficult to compare.

You are wrong, this is the right forum. Voting polls, duh!

Claire June 2nd, 2005 1:33 PM

Deathscape, this was the wrong area.
If you look at the main rules:

therefore this belongs in Other Games.

BlackCharizard June 2nd, 2005 1:57 PM

Wrong area, true. PSP is the best anyway!

Casual Billy June 2nd, 2005 2:15 PM

I don't know if it's a fair comparison. I mean, you wouldn't say "Hey which do you like better: cell phones or home phones?"

The Fallen June 2nd, 2005 2:26 PM

I have both the PS2 and PSP, right now PSP is my favorite cause it's new and I haven't played it as much. All around though the PSP is better cause of the music, movies, wireless interenet. Im sure the PS3 is gonna rule though.

Casual Billy June 2nd, 2005 2:35 PM

It's apples and oranges people! You wouldn't ask someone "hey, which do you like better: home boom box or walkman?"

Consoles and portables = apples and oranges.

Consoles and portables = zebras and kangaroos.

Consoles and portables = elephants and dolphins.

Consoles and portables = whales and turtles.

Consoles and portables = robins and jay-birds.

Dark Sora June 2nd, 2005 2:44 PM

Dude, you dont have to keep posting the same thing over and over again. That's just spamming,

Anyways...

It's an easy pick, now, cause the PSP is very new and not much is out for it. So that makes PS2 better. But just wait a while and PSP will catch up very fast. Also, PS2 is better cause it has Kingdom Hearts XD

Dark Penguin June 2nd, 2005 4:02 PM

The PSP is a PS2 that is portable but has a smaller screen. And the games are very similar to PS2 games, but [so far] are not as good. If you want portability, go with PSP. If you want a good console, go with PS2. Other than that, they are pretty much the same thing.

Let's say of the first 2 months PSP and PS2 were out, which one was better, only counting the games, not the music and movie watchers.

BladeForever June 2nd, 2005 4:15 PM

As mentioned already, I'm going for PS2 for the games it already has. I'd easily pick PSP if it had the exact games as the PS2 currently. My reasons on liking it better.

Well I never base my answers of the PSP on the music and movie feature. I dont really like it that much. The music feature is good, but the movie feature is just over doing it. I hate how people always talk about the music and movie feature, when they say they like the PSP. It's never about the games. I'm guessing not many people pay any attention to the games for it.

I'm not (probably some olgygist with some word in front of it.) but I think most people like music and movies better than games. Just because games are kind of new. Not many adults like games.

yeah its pretty sad - i know three guys at school that have PSP's and dont have a single game. and your right - the movie thing isn't that great - i like the song better too.

Brittany June 2nd, 2005 6:32 PM

It depends. PS2 is $150, is a tad bit better graphically, and is played on a large screen. PSP is $250, has other media features, and is portable.

Lemme debate with myself...
...$100 savings
Screen size...
...larger storage space
Multimedia features...
...all of the buttons
KH2... or Crisis Core?...

And my opinion... I guess I like PS2 better at the moment. It has KH2 and FF12 coming for it, and at the moment has a larger library of games. I might change my mind because of future add-ons and devices, especially when PS3 comes out.

thepenguinkidwhorule June 3rd, 2005 2:49 AM

can I choose neither?????????????????????????????????

Eon-Rider June 3rd, 2005 2:52 AM

Then you shouldn't have an opinon on either.

Crystal Clair June 3rd, 2005 6:15 AM

Despite I pretty much despise the PSP, I did at one time want to get PS2 because there was this really good game that my best friend had. So I vote PS2 b/c I actually like it.
And besides I'm currently the owner of the original PS.

kohei June 4th, 2005 4:54 AM

I say PS2... graphic wise anyway. But I'll never buy a PSP after all the doing of the GateKeepers of Sony *rants on about GK*

Tsugaru June 4th, 2005 9:20 AM

I also say ps2..better graphics..ect..way better

For the PSP's screensize, I would say the graphics may be equal or possibly even better than PS2's. Seriously, try playing a PS2 game on a screen that size and see if they're comparable. Not only that, but 111Mhz is unused by the PSP at the moment, probably for power conservation. When that gets unlocked, graphics may have a jump in the future.

bgt June 4th, 2005 10:05 AM

i don't wanna this to turn into another... this is better than that and that is better than this thread... oi...

yea, currently the processor is running at 222Mhz which is stated as variable... well, the PSP already has horrible battery life but has precautions that help to keep bat life... and if they did unlock it with just the batteries they have now... running at full 333... err... you'd be lucky if you got 2 hours out of the system... but still... unlock the full speed... and your talking PS2 or better quality...

hmm, well, psp & ps2 are very similar in architectures, etc. I mean, they are almost identical in hardware besides for a few things. As for me... im not a big fan of ps2 myself, not many games that turned me on... well, FF VII, VIII, & IX i liked, but thats PSX anyways. I am a fan of PSP though just because of what I can do... haha, now who doesnt want to listen to poke mp3's, manga, & advanced generation video... lol. Eh, well, I'm more towards PSP and I truly believe that if someone develops their game right, they can equal or surpass PS2's graphics... but maybe im just irrelevant... you know.

P.S.: I put bold tags on the first statement for a reason...
