In short scientists are nearly forced to publish regardless of any true significance. All about them numbers.. And yes you guys are also correct about this happening a lot. That YT video goes into a good amount of depth about it without being overly complicated.

I was taught in either elementary school or middle school that there's the chance that science can always be wrong, and that is why research always needs to be ongoing, That's not to say that science isn't right either, but it's not like math (which is always correct).
