by the way I need a roll too if you check the post above :3

edit: whoops, you aleady did! Thanks.

You're welcome, and I'll take Electrike but will evolve it to Manectric seeing as I am not using NFEs. Confirming my team of
Blazekin
Azumarril
Manectric
Sandslash
Xatu
Zangoose

Also, you can take Toxicroak over Miltank

thanks. I'm not really trying to be picky and I don't really want to make you reroll a lot but my team seems kinda boring and I was hoping the last reroll would be some kind of saving grace. I think I'd take a whole reroll now. My apologies! (toxicroak is pretty cool but still the rest... oof. I'd like more new pokemon introduced in gen 6)

It's okay take
Talonflame
Barbaracle
Gogoat
Florges
Garchomp
Scolipede

Then the other two if you want you can take the Exeggutor and Bannette (instead of Hippowdon)

Alpha Sapphire Update 1:
Spoiler:
So after a small break from my Crystal run I began this run. And so far it's waaaay better than before. I got my first team member on the first route, Tsundere the Zigzagoon. After a grind session I soloed against Roxanne with them. After getting the Devon Parts I moved onto the next gym in Dewford. But not before catching and grinding my second member, Lil Lass the Makuhita! She was Adamant and holding a Black Belt. Which is insaaaaaane! I got a feeling she's gonna go far. Using both of them I beat Brawly and saved. :laugh-squinted:

Can I get a reroll for Delcatty or Slaking, both Slaking and Delcatty are normal type only and I don't want 2 Pokemon of same type in my team. Reroll for any of the two will do.

Plot
Okay a for real spoiler on this one, though I’m assuming we’ve all played the Kalos games and knows what happens. But if not... don’t click this spoiler box.
Spoiler:
Team Flare is no more! I defeated both the Anistar Gym and Team Flare so I’m ready to challenge the 8th gym. I’ve always wondered though- what happened to Lysandre? He’s supposedly immortal, but he also got caught in that massive explosion, and I’ve heard other theories that he killed himself... but anyway, now I’m really starting to work towards finalizing my league movesets before heading to Snowbelle and Victory Road.

Update #6 on X Run

Plot
Spoiler:
The team has arrived at the Pokemon League! Unfortunately I didn’t realize until I was halfway through Victory Road that you need strength to get through it, so my Carbink got basically no training, but whatever lol. I also forgot to buy revives so the last Trainer in the cave was slightly scary, but it was nothing Joseph couldn’t handle.

ALPHA SAPPHIRE Update 2
Spoiler:
So I made my way through trainers, evolving both my two mons into powerhouses. Beating through Wattson with both. At Fiery Cave I got me my next member, World the Torkoal. I beat Team Aqua and made my way through the Fire Gym, beating Flannery with a very powerful team.

I'm gonna need 1, maybe 2 rerolled. Stunky and Skuntank can't be found in Platinum. As for Rotom, you need a special event item to be able to change its form, and I’m unable to hack. I’m happy to use a regular Rotom, or just reroll it if that’s better for the rules. The other 4 are good. Thanks!

Final Update on X Run

Plot
Spoiler:
We've done it! I've (re)claimed my spot as the Champion of Kalos! Let's go through the battles in detail...

vs Malva
This battle is the entire reason I put Stealth Rock on Crystal. They made it so much easier, especially with Talonflame. Unfortunately her Pyroar burned me with Flamethrower which ruined my strategy of Toxic stalling literally the entire battle, but I was still able to KO most of her team without much thought.

vs Siebold
STAB Thunderbolt with what I consider to be the MVP of this team (Bolt the Heliolisk) is really all I have to say about this battle. None of his Pokemon outsped Bolt or lived a hit.

vs Drasna
While K.J. certainly isn't the fastest Pokemon ever, his incredible bulk and Sp. Atk. boosting nature led to another easy victory.

vs Wikstrom
Definitely the hardest of the Elite Four (for me anyways), but still an easy win simply because X and Y are so hand-holdy.

vs Diantha
Somehow my Aurorus survived a 4x effective Focus Blast from her Goodra, allowing me to get an Ice Beam off before switching. Other than that, hardly no damage was taken.

vs AZ
Okay, tbh I really don't get why this battle was included. Like... AZ's storyline is such a rushed mess. Anyways... easy win and completion of my first Random Team challenge!

This run went pretty nice for most of the game , the first gym leader destroyed me
tho because i only had a Dustox and a Whismur at that time and Whismur basically
coudn't even damage Roxanne's mons but Dustox ended up learning confusion and that
basically carried me early game.

The rest of the game went pretty well , Dustox ended up being really frail so i coudn't
really use him for anything..

Manectric and Exploud became my unstoppable duo , and i basically used Exploud for
any battle making him stack up with Howl and one shotting everybody except Phoebe
which was a TOTAL pain because of Dusclops bulkiness. Also Walrein hitting 3 Sheer Colds in a row , ffs..

4. Pokemon on this list are banned: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Battle_Tree#Restrictions

Ho-Oh is on that list so is therefor banned from the challenge, regardless of if jdthebud is happy to use it.

Sorry to be a spoilsport.

I would not have used Ho-oh anyway, haha, so I'll confirm Lopunny, Marowak, Arbok, and Beautifly to start but would like a reroll on Claydol and Slaking, as I've just used them recently, and I need a mon who learns Surf anyway.

This is gonna be a bit of a challenge no matter who else I get though, I'm looking forward to it.

Kimbo's Lets Go Eevee update

STORY
Defeated Sabrina mainly using Splashy's Shadow Ball, and Special Bulk. Surfed around the region to do the Power Plant and Seafoam Islands, as well as get a Aloalan version of everything I had not got one of yet. At some point in this section Smoggyevolved into Weezing. Then did Cinnabar Mansion, more training. Then took on the Cinnabar Gym, where Blade took his time to shine, resisting everything and hitting back with strong Waterfall's and Aqua Jets of his own. Finally went to Viridian City, did the whole back and forth between Viridian and Pallet, to resolve the gym. Took on Viridian gym where Smoggy shone, tanking and stalling out Giovanni.

Next: The final update, becoming Champion in the Pokemon League.

TEAM
https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/nidoking.gif
Lawler The Nidoking
Level 59/Hardy/Male
Poison Jab/Earthquake/Ice Punch/Thunder Punch
Thoughts: The real MVP of the save. Nidokings versatility, lack of reliance on its ability and great mixed stats made it the star. One of the two I had been given in a random challenge previously and it shone in this save.

https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/ninetales.gif
Kurama The Ninetales
Level 59/Docile/Female
Flamethrower/Dark Pulse/Quick Attack/Will-O-Wisp
Thoughts: Did not get to show off in the Elite 4 and was outclassed come the end game in damage and bulk by Vaporeon and Marowak. A spell mid run where it was by far my best pokemon. a first time Ninetails user and I would argue it is the worst of the 5 fire type options available. 6th in MVP runnings

http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/marowak-alola.gif
Wilfred The Alolan Marowak
Level 61/Impish/Male
Flare Blitz/Shadow Ball/Earthquake/Thunder Punch
Thoughts: Wish it was not a traded pokemon as it ran ahead experience wise. Also missed having a physical ghost STAB (Shadow Punch would of done). Became a glass cannon due to its typing however Flame Blitz and Earthquake punched holes in most pokemon. First Time use. Would not mind using it in Aloala where it has its Ghost Club move. 5th in MVP Runnings

https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/vaporeon.gif
Splashy The Vaporeon
Level 59/Lonely/Male
Scald/Shadow Ball/Ice Beam/Toxic
Thoughts: The other pokemon I have used before. Like Nidoking, minus the versatility but with added bulk. Impressed once it caught up and was integral against Lance. A strong 3rd place. Its usefulness was somewhat hit by having another water type.

https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/kabutops.gif
Blade The Kabutops
Level 58/Sassy/Male
Rock Slide/Waterfall/Aqua Jet/Leech Life
Thoughts: A late comer who made a move for the MVP prize. Great revenge killer, enough physical bulk it tanks pokemon who cannot hit it super effectively and the buff Leech Life received, in this guys hands, was destructive. First time user, would highly recommend. Runner up to Nidoking for MVP.

https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/weezing.gif
Smoggy The Weezing
Level 57/Serious/Female
Sludge Bomb/Thunderbolt/Toxic/Flamethrower
Thoughts: I hated this guy. Until I realised I was trying to use him as a Special Attacker. I then started to use him like a physical tank. And he did so well. Took on Bruno single handed, as well as negating other physical threats I struggled with (EVERY GYARADOS EVER). Pushed this guy from dead last to 4th, due to an impressive pokemon league showing.

You can just change the clock on your 3ds.

Update #1 on Renegade Platinum!

Name: Jd
Starter: Chimchar
Rival: Dray
  • Started with Chimmy the Chimchar, and after the beginning stuff, I battled my way to Jubilife City.
  • Grabbed the egg from the Cowgirl in the Trainer School, and after quite a few resets, out hatched Toon the Mime Jr.!
  • Grabbed the Old Rod and fished up Kraken the Magikarp as well.
  • After quite a bit of grinding, I was able to defeat Barry and get access to Route 203, where I caught Skully the Cubone!
  • Continued on through the Oreburgh Gate to Oreburgh City, training Skully up along the way.
  • Went into the mine to find Roark, then took on the gym.
  • Roark wasn't too difficult to defeat with Skully's Bone Club and Bonemerang, though I did have to heal a couple times.
  • Backtracked to Jubilife City and Route 204, where I caught Flutter the Wurmple.
  • Went through Ravaged Path and Route 204 North to Florama Town, where I got a Thick Club for Skully.
  • Along the way, Flutter evolved into Silcoon, then again into Beautifly!
  • Battled Team Galactic at the Florama Meadow and the Valley Windworks, where I took down Mars, mostly with Skully.
  • Moved north through Route 205, and saved at the entrance to Eterna Forest.

POKEMON ULTRA MOON UPDATE 1: ISLAND 1

Spoiler:
Started new game, selected Poplio as my starter. Did all the early game shenanigans, including Trainers school and Hau’oli City. Finally hit Route 2 and caught NapNap the Drowzee. Grinded up to take on Ilima’s challenge. Ended up needing Poplio to take down Totem Raticate. Healed, took down route 3, training NapNap as much as possible along the way.

Returned to Iki Town, to take on Kahuna Hala. NapNap took out both Crabrawler and Machop with Confusion, sacrificed a pokemon to heal up, then took out Makuhita with some more Confusions.

Alrighty. You get a team of:
Linoone
Mightyena
Gardevoir
Crobat
Minun
Armaldo

Good luck. But if you wanted only one for the first gym, you can pick one and I can re-roll the rest of the pre first gym Pokemon.

Update 1 -
So, I chose Mudkip as my starter, and I also beat Brendan.
I caught a Poochyena, a Zigzagoon, which took a bit longer to get but got there in the end, and a Ralts, which took FOREVER! It will be worth it though :)
I helped Wally with his encounter, and Ralts was his FIRST encounter, and I wanna know WHY he has this luck
Someone stopped me on my journey to call me a rookie. I seriously doubt that I am one.
I went through Petalburg Woods and defeated the gym. There is where I stopped.

Pokemon Ultra Moon Update 2
Akala Island Part 1.

Spoiler:
Did a lap of Melemele island, collecting items, etc. Reached Akala Island. Headed out to route 4. Started Lana’s Trial. Fainted, so went to catch team member #2 back on Melemele Island. Whilst hunting, NapNap evolved into Hypno.
After hunting for a bit, caught Grace the Seel. Added straight to the party. Returned to Akala, and back to that pesky Totem pokemon. Gonna be honest, these first 2 totem pokemon have ruined me. At least Hala was easy in the middle. Finally won the challenge with NapNap’s Psybeam.
Headed back out, got a couple of Totem Stickers, worked on grinding Grace up to par. After a short time, got to Kiawe’s Trial. Defeated Totem Marowak easily thanks to Grace’s Water Pulse.

Update #3 for Platinum

I normally don’t write anything before my plot and team updates but I just have to say, this gym battle was one of the funniest battle I’ve ever fought... it’s worth a read IMO.

Plot
Spoiler:
Fantina was far from the best gym battle I’ve ever fought... and potentially one of the worst I’ve won. I expected it to be really easy with Katie using Bite. Every battle I expect to be easy in Sinnoh never goes to plan, though. Duskull was no problem, but Mismagius would’ve been a 3-hit KO. I say would’ve been, because when I went to use a Super Potion, it turned out that I’d forgotten to stop by the PokeMart ahead of time, and Katie fainted. Still, as long as I can take a hit, Hibiscus can take care of it, right? I didn’t realize Mismagius has Psybeam, though, and after getting it down to red health, she fainted. Wobble fainted almost instantly, and while Celeste was able to knock out Mismagius with peck, she was easily killed with a Sucker Punch from Haunter. At this point I thought I was done, because at this point Maddie and Shadow have no coverage... but then I noticed, Maddie has foresight. If I can take a few Sucker Punches and power though the annoyance of confusion and sleep, I can quick attack it to death. So somehow, I knocked out a Pokemon several levels ahead of me with a Normal Type move that normally wouldn’t hit it. I’m pretty excited.

Thanks! Just realized the earliest one I'd be able to get is Spearow though, which would be well after the first gym. (Unless I'm wrong, but I believe I'd need headbutt to get it on earlier routes.) Any way you could re roll one of them to have one available before the first gym?

ElectricN February 9th, 2019 7:14 PM

Starting my trip soon. If i could get a reroll on one of them to be available before the first gym, I'll go by that! If not, I'll just sub Pidgeot for Fearow since I can get pidgey immediately.

Confirmed!

ElectricN February 10th, 2019 7:06 AM

First update!

I'll start off by saying this will not be an easy team to acquire lol. Pidgey and Paras were simple enough, but it took me 20 Odd Eggs to get a Magby, Tauros is rare and only in the morning, and Laura's only appears on fridays.

But, been interesting so far. Pidgeotto has been a tank, in the early game, but paras has been underwhelming with its move pool.

Current team:

Pidgeotto Lvl 23
Tackle
Sand Attack
gust
quick attack

Paras Lvl 12
Scratch
Stun Spore

Magby Lvl 5
Ember
Leer
Dizzy Punch

Haven't done a challenge in a while, looking for a good excuse to run through 1st-4th gen.

Username: thenickel09
Game: Ruby
Number of Pokemon: 4
National Dex: Yes
Exclude NFEs: Yes
Restrictions: I'll be playing on an emulator so no trade evos, unless I am allowed to just hack in an evolutionary item and change the method in which it evolves (i.e. using a king's rock instead of trading w/ one)

I usually change trade evo via randomizer, but I don't hack in the evolutionary items unless they can't be obtained during normal playthrough. So here's your team. Enjoy and let me know if you need to re-roll something:

Pokemon Ultra Moon Update 4
Ula’ula Island Part 1

Spoiler:
Went to the resort on Akala, met Faba from Aether Paradise and was offered a tour. Met Lusamine, an Ultra Beast, then was sent to Ula’ula Island.
After healing Hau decided he wanted a battle. I legitimately think his USUM team is the most threatening a rival has been since Red/Blue/Yellow. Won, headed to met Kukui, then to catch team mate number 4 & 5. But first I explored, took on the Kantonian gym. On my way to Trial 5, Grace evolved into Dewgong, Reached the Observatory, headed down the mountain, caught Starboy the Cleffa and Slurpee the Minior. Team complete, for this island atleast. Took on Sophocle’s Trial, I…HATE…TOTEM…POKEMON. Lost, went away, added some experience, won atlast thanks to Grace’s Brine.
Went back to Kukui, encountered and beat your boy Guzma. Headed out to route 11, then 12, evolved Starboy into Clefairy. Thank you Arceus. Not long after, found a Moon Stone, and evolved Starboy again into Clefable. Took on Acerola’s trial and won using Lei’s Petal Dance on Mimikyu.

Second update! (Am doing these from my phone so I apologize for the lack of spoiled and sprites)

Just made it to Olivine! My team is shaping up pretty well, though I'm finding the move pool for them disappointing in Gen 2. Magmar has become my go to simply because he has more moves that aren't Normal.

Taurus is pretty sturdy so leveling him up is easy, Pidgeotto has lost its advantage that it had early on, but I expect it to return when it evolves, and Parasect is kinda challenging to use. It just had a lot of weaknesses, and it's best move is still scratch.

Excited to get Umbreon! Just need to go get my eevee, then sadly have to wait until Friday for Lapras (Gen 2 reaaaallly went crazy with the different times of day/day, I feel like every other mon is only available at some random portion of the week)

Current team:

Current team:

Pidgeotto Lvl 26 (F)
Tackle
Whirlwind
Gust
Quick attack

Parasect Lvl 25 (F)

Poison Powder

Ember

Tauros Lvl 20 (M)

Pokemon Ultra Moon Update 5
Ula’ula Island Part 2/Aether Paradise

Spoiler:
Went and won Plumeira again. Received a ‘invite’ to Po Town. Got Sharpedo Smash, reached route 16. Went through Ula’Ula Meadow. Got into Po Town. Defeated Guzma in Po Town. Nanu’s dialogue with Acerola here spoke to me on an emotional level. True MVP of this game.

Went back to Aether Building, story, fought Gladion and won. Went with Gladion , fought my idol Nanu, won using Slurpee’s Acrobatics on Sableye, and NapNap’s Brick Break against Krookodile and Persian. Wait, that was my Ula’Ula Grand Trial? Seriously ?!...I might as well do some more.

Arrived at Aether paradise for more story. Hau amused me. Aether guys fight you now… Yay ☹. Teamed with Gladion and Hau to face multiple employees and Faba. Twice. Then up came your boy Guzma…Again?! Why is he tougher than he was 5 minutes ago? Beat him, with some difficulty. Now the Ultra Recon Squad! Is this potential villain central?! Took out Soliera easily. She then provided a very positive message…Story. Hau pushing Nanu real close for favourite character right now. After some plot, Lusamine decides it’s time to battle. She won. She & Guzma wander off. Cut scene with Ultra Recon Squad. We get healed. And that is where I’ll end this update.

Update #4 on Platinum

Plot
Spoiler:
My battle against Maylene was easier than I expected. Even though Celeste was well under leveled, Katie and Hibiscus had no trouble getting through the battle. Before Wake, I figured it was time to get caught up on leveling as over half of my team was barely above twenty. So, after a very long and tedious grinding session, everyone got up to Level 30. With two grass types and Hidden Power Electric, the Pastoria Gym was no challenge and I got my 5th gym badge.
