WHITE RUN FINAL UPDATE!
Spoiler:
HOWDY!! so i pretty much annihilated the elite four. grimsley was kinda annoying since i didn't really have anything effective against dark, but whatever. i caught zekrom really easily? in like my third ball so? cool! N was pretty easy actually. i DID white out at Ghetsis but i came back and sent the stinky man to the moon. i have so much love for gen 5. even though i prefer bw2 i still adore the first iterations. this was a fun challenge! id like to discuss my team a little

Lassie was at his most useful early-mid game. he kinda fell out later but he was still a good dog.
Boots was more useful mid-late game. did burn Ghetsis's Bisharp so that was lit.
Fillyjonk was fairly useful throughout the entire game. im kinda stupid for not realising Munna evolved with Moon Stone. i just sat there wondering why it took so long for Munna to evolve.
Tinkers was pretty useful with her status moves. Leech Seed + Sleep Powder is a super good combo!
Astrid didn't do much until late game. honestly, she mostly sat in the back. but she pretty much tore through most things when she needed too.
Alph did more than Astrid, but still not super much. he was the mvp in the elite four!

i dont think i will do another run in white. its a super slow game, and id rather do them in black 2 or later games.

FINAL TEAM ITERATION!

Final Update on Platinum Run

Plot
Spoiler:
I was stuck in Victory Road for 9 months, but I finally escaped and it’s time to take on the Pokémon League! Okay, jokes aside, back in April I was starting to get burned out on Pokémon so I took a bit of a break. With the release of Sword and Shield, I’ve felt refreshed and ready to go! I decided to go ahead and finish this one off since I’d like to continue working towards being an Ultimate Champion. And... I’m still terrified of Cynthia.

I spent a few hours on a long car trip grinding to get everyone to at least Level 50 (key word at least, because Katie ended up much higher...). I happened to discover an unused heart scale in my bag, so I used it to give Wobble Ice Punch in order to deal with Garchomp. Let’s begin!

vs Aaron
For the most part, this battle wasn’t too bad. Heracross was quite annoying because with Stone Edge, it’s very risky to send Celeste out. Luckily, she was able to live with 12 HP and one shot with Air Slash because Heracross is very weak to flying.

vs Bertha
So... this is an interesting one. In the last battle, I had Wobble in front to get rid of Aaron’s Yanmega with Rock Slide (which was obviously successful if I’m even getting to battle Bertha). I intended to lead with Hibiscus to get rid of Whiscash without risking Katie taking a hit... but completely forgot to switch the two. So I was at a disadvantage from the start. I didn’t want to risk an underleveled Roserade getting one shot on a switch in, so I just had to do the best I could. But, that meant Medicham took a bit of damage and wouldn’t have had a chance to do anything against Gliscor. Nobody else had an Ice type move, though, so it was necessary to keep Wobble healthy. Unfortunately, that meant sacrificing Maddie since she wouldn’t really be able to do much against a ground type trainer. Basically, the entire battle I was behind schedule, but found a way to prevail.

vs Flint
After what happened against Bertha, I was extra careful to make sure the right Pokémon was in front. Coincidentally... it’s Wobble again because STAB Force Palm plus Pure Power against a Houndoom works very well. The issue with fire types, though, is that on this team, my best weapon against Fire types is also weak to Fire, so it’s always a risk to use Katie against them.

vs Lucian
I wish I could say this was the calm before the storm, but... it was far from calm. Mr. Mime set up Reflect, and considering most of my team is made up of Physical attackers, it was tough to damage them much until that time had passed. Fortunately, we also did pretty well defensively in this battle and once the screen was down, I was able to finish things off.

vs Cynthia
Oh my GOSH this is the most intense battle I’ve ever had. I’ve battled Cynthia before and as a result am absolutely terrified of her, but none of those were this close (or lucky).

To start with, everyone except Katie was around 6 levels lower than Cynthia's team, if not more. Because of this, I figured status effects and battle hazards were going to be necessary to even give myself a chance. Hibiscus did outspeed Spiritomb, so I was able to get one layer of toxic spikes up. I expected to get one shot, but Roserade survived and got the second layer of toxic spikes up, which came in clutch later. After being knocked out on the second turn, I decided to bring Katie in to set up Stealth Rocks. Although she’s weak to Silver Wind, she’s also pretty bulky, and it isn’t STAB for Spiritomb, so I wasn’t too worried. Cynthia actually decided to withdraw Spiritomb and put in Togekiss, so on the next turn I switched as well.

Putting Wobble in was a bit dangerous- her most important role in this battle is to take out Garchomp, and taking any damage before then will really hurt my chances. Here’s where the luck really starts: I go for Ice Punch, and get the Freeze on Togekiss. I fully expected her to use a full restore after this, but she didn’t and Togekiss fell with absolutely no damage on Wobble.

Next she brought in Lucario, which was easy. It’s Aura Sphere hardly did anything to Katie, and she got a critical hit Earthquake to OHKO. Not sure if it mattered, but it’s always nice to have one less turn to worry about.

Next was Milotic. I decided to switch in Celeste because I really needed Katie later on. This is where the Toxic Spikes really helped out- even though she could’ve gone for an Ice Beam, she kept using Mirror Coat and with a combination of Toxic damage and Air Slashes, I was able to knock it out, somehow without triggering a Full Restore.

And now... the single most important moment of the entire playthrough. Garchomp. I’m absolutely terrified of this thing, and aside from Katie, I’m not sure anyone can take a hit from it. With Wobble’s high speed, though, I can outspeed and knock it out with Ice Punch, right? Hopefully? Maybe? Please?

Nope. I knew it was fast, but didn’t realize it was that fast. It goes for Dragon Rush... and misses! Looking back, it’s 70% accurate (during the battle, I assumed it was 95%) but it’s still a lucky roll to dodge it. So, it all relies on how strong Ice Punch is. It’s not STAB, but it’s Physical on a Pokémon with Pure Power, and I also gave Wobble the Never Melt Ice that was sitting around in my bag just for this situation. Fingers crossed and... it didn’t matter. Another critical hit! Fainting her Garchomp with a Pokémon 8 levels lower is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, considering how strong we all know it is.

Now that that’s over, she still has one Pokémon left: Roserade. When it came in, it cleared the Toxic Spikes... so my question to Cynthia, is why didn’t you do that earlier? You could’ve saved your Milotic and made things a lot tougher in general... I’m not complaining though, because Katie was able to take out Roserade very easily, meaning I’m the new champion of the Sinnoh Region, and I’ve also completed the second part of my Ultimate Random challenge!

Like I've said above, I haven't played either of the Ultra games, but I did check Pokemon locations so I think you will be fine getting these Pokemon. Let me know though if you need a re-roll.

So its been a long long time coming, a whole 6 months in fact! I believe I started my final leg of the ultimate run in July, but I finally completed it..only to find that I now have a new final leg to conquer, sword or shield. So when Christmas comes I plan on getting Shield, once I do a normal run of it I'll probably end up doing a run from here. But to celebrate my completion of X finally, I have set up an ultimate hall of fame of all my past teams that I had throughout this run that has taken me at least a year and a half. I've lost motivation for it a lot, but I finally pulled through in the end to get it done. and when I get to shield, I'll do the same for that, but here it is, my hall of fame.
Note: MVP by each pokemon means the pokemon that was my strongest through the specific run with the team.

Update #1 on Ultra Moon run

Plot
Spoiler:

School and other real life stuff delayed me a bit, but I’m happy to have finally gotten started with the third part of my ultimate random challenge! The beginning of this game is actually really hard without other Pokemon... the trainer school was an absolute nightmare with just my starter, and there are a few trainers that are not friendly to you when you have nothing but a Cutiefly. Still, I was able to get through Ilima and Hala’s trials, so we’re off to Akala Island!

So I'm in the middle of my shield playthrough. So for the future I thought I'd ask so I can just do my last leg whenever.

Update #2 on Ultra Moon run

Plot
Spoiler:

I expected Totem Araquanid to be hard, but oh my ARCEUS that thing was tough. I failed the first attempt, and ended up having to grind Bella up to level 22 to even have a remote chance to win (and I hate level grinding...). Then, it took an X Special Defense to be able to live for more than 1 turn. I typically don’t use X items, but this time it definitely saved me. Once I got it to where Araquanid plus Dewpider’s bubbles were doing less than half, I was able to paralyze the totem and stall it out with Draining Kiss. I would’ve preferred to use Silver Wind and get stat boosts, but I really needed to get health back because there was a damage range of 2 HP for each of the totem's bubbles, and those extra points I gain can be the difference between living and fainting. Yeah, it was that close. Not to mention, I was deathly afraid of crits, because a single one from EITHER Araquanid or Dewpider would be the end. So it took a mix of luck and stalling, and a battle style I’m not particularly proud of, but it got the job done.

Once that was over with, I was able to head back to Melemele Island and catch Frostbite the Shellder, so now I have two good options for the fire trial!

Hey guys. Just thought I'd do a monotype challenge run of Pokemon Moon. Please leave suggestions for a team I should use.

Restrictions: All Pokemon must have the same type in common. Other then that, you are free to suggest whatever you want.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I got you Flying monotype with this team. Let me know, if there are any problems with this team:

Also there is a Monotype thread if you would rather post your updates there or you can even make your own thread in Challenge Logs.

Update #3 on Ultra Moon run

Plot
Spoiler:

After quite the though battle with Totem Araquanid, the next two were much less stressful. Totem Marowak was a bit tougher than expected, mostly due to its SOS partner in Salazzle, but I was still able to beat it. Despite having serious issues with it in my previous playthroughs, Totem Lurantis was actually very easy, because I nearly one shot it with Frostbite (Icicle Spear is essentially a base 125 power move with Skill Link, which is VERY useful) and was able to finish it off with a couple of Pollen Puffs from Bella (it kept healing just enough to survive with Synthesis, but once the sunlight faded it was easy to take out).

After that, I made my way to Hano Grand resort to catch my Sandygast and... it was blocked. See, I used a Palossand in one playthrough of Sun and remember it taking an annoyingly long time to unlock the area it can be caught considering it’s in the first city on the island, but I didn’t realize that it took THIS long. My plan was to kill Olivia's rock types with a new Ground type member of the team, but I guess that won’t be happening, which makes this battle a lot more stressful. Ugh... at least once I finish this battle, I’m pretty confident about the rest of the trials.

On 25th of December 2018 I requested random team for Soul Silver. On 25th of June 2019, I started the save and caught Ledyba. On 30th of December 2019 I beat first Gym and hatched Togepi. And on 11st of January 2020 I beat Red.

It was a long journey and throughout the whole time, I had this run on the back of my mind, still thinking about beating it. The hardest part was probably getting up early in the morning and catching Ledyba. And then actually training it to beat Falkner. But then I pretty much speedrun the whole game. I was so fast that I didn't even catch Chansey, one of the rolled Pokémon. I just couldn't wait for it to be available in Safari Zone and didn't realize I can catch it in Kanto. But then, I found out I couldn't even be able to use it, since I needed few HMs to get to Red, so I made decision to use only 5 Pokémon for the whole game. I hope this decision is okay with everyone.

Overall, this was pretty interesting run, even though I don't think I've used other Pokémon than Heracross and Xatu in Kanto. Well, I used them as fodder against Red when I had to heal my MVPs.

And here's few screenshots as proofs:
