Disney's prices just went up today.
|
not surprised in the slightest there all things considered
|
as a general rule if you're a florida native you should buy annual passes anyway assuming you make a habit of going to theme parks. rising ticket prices is one of the many reasons why and it's really just kind of cost-effective in the long run.
|
if i lived in florida or even in a florida adjacent state to where i could justify going regularly i would buy passes
as is, i've only been to disney world once when i was about 6 and I really want to go again! |

idk i guess personally the magic doesn't really wear off everytime i go there. it's really hard to get bored animal kingdom was amazing though and i daresay it was slightly above magic kingdom itself as far as enjoyable experiences go |

but we had fun at universal so..... |
i feel like if it was between disney v universal i'd just choose universal, that is if we're comparing just magic kingdom to universal and islands of adventure. plus i mean... i can't argue with butterbeer.
there seems like a lot more to do at universal compared to disney which is kind of an interesting take but i gotta be honest the only rides that interested me personally was space mountain and i think riding go karts the last time i went to disney. i also went on it's a small world but that's because the last time i've been on it, i was three years old so going on it 20 years later was just mindblowing. most other things are geared towards kids yes and i think where disney shines for the most part is the parades which are really enjoyable to see but it can be tough to get a good view. restaurants are also pretty decent but they are absurdly overpriced. assuming your wallet can handle the pain, the experience actually isn't bad. but personally i feel like you get more bang from your buck at universal, but maybe that's just me. actually one of my goals is either to visit blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon which are both disney water parks! i've always felt like i wouldn't be a huge fan of water parks but at the same time i feel like i haven't given them a proper chance so i really want to this time around. |
If I made a 'bucket list' I think going to every Disney theme park in the world would probably be on there. I've done Florida and Paris and I hope I can get Hong Kong done in the next 7 months, I've finally found someone else interested in going!
|
I'd just like to go to Rome this year...I'll worry about what comes after, after. xD;

If I didn't live on the other side of the atlantic, I'd be there all the time! |
There's a lot I want to do in this country before I even consider traveling abroad! :o Like I wanna visit NYC again (because doing it at age 14 you kinda forget stuff)

As long as I need as much medication as I do, I don't think I would ever want to leave the UK...I shudder to imagine the cost of healthcare in the US for someone like me. There's also the weather. I am actually thinking of moving to Scotland if I can just to get away from the warmer temperatures down south. If we have another summer this year like the one last year I will break down and cry...

When I was over for a short stint in summer it was noticeably hotter than the last time I spent a summer there, I think now is finally time we should embrace AC. |
Quote:
AC costs a fortune in the UK, but if summers keep getting hotter and drier we're going to need it...6 weeks without rain is not okay. |

(yeets past healthcare discussion) I’ve never been to Disneyworld, and honestly, I don’t know that I ever will. I hear horror stories about ridiculous wait times and huge crowds constantly. Plus, spending a whole day in the heat surrounded by screaming children just doesn’t sound fun at all.
|
Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain were the most popular rides at the time I went. Other than that, wait times weren't too bad.
Fastpass though |
The theory is that they keep raising the prices each year to combat the crowd issues, but nothing stops the crowds!
|
I wish I'd gone to Disneyworld when Disney was actually good, and not the shitshow it is now. They ruined Marvel, they ruined Star Wars...sigh...
|
Its... still good? Disneyworld i mean. Sure theyre starting to add marvel and star wars into the parks but honestly as of right now the only two major changes are Pandora (which is reaally pretty asthetically i love walking through pandora) and toy story land which is also rly cute and fun! Yes there is a star wars ride at hollywood studios but its been there for a long as i can remember lol.
I mean ig there is also the star wars thing that goes on at hollywood studios too but ehh. Easily you can ignore and if you want a show better off seeing fantasmic anyways When sis and i were debating getting universal over disney again we chose disney bc of the asthetic. Sometimes just walking around the parks is enough for us and we feel its not the same for universal thats more about the rides. |
yeah if you're the type of person that's more about the rides, then universal is better. disney is better for scenery and all that.
|
It's a goal of mine to go to Disneyworld or Disneyland someday, because I've never been to either one, but I know everyone says you should go at least once!

even though i see you exist on twitter LOL Quote:

I panic so when I fly I have to keep my face in a book and read the whole time |
Also, if you have the chance, go to EPCOT this year before Summer hits and they begin to replace Illuminations with IP-driven shows.
|
I've only been to a few themeparks during my life, really. A severe exaggeration, seeing as how they weren't themed. At all. But they had the usual activities, and like every other child I was rich in naivety and bravado, and inevitably I went on a ride I wasn't prepared for. Screamed. A lot. Consolation presented itself in the form of a giant dog toy that I won and still have, but I'm pretty sure the attendant thought I cheated. I want to track her down and shake her by the shoulders and shout 'I didn't bloody cheat! I had the numbers! I had the friggin' numbers!' but its a lot of effort.
Wouldn't mind going to Disneyland or some such place. Could be fun. |
