ROE is probably my least favourite nighttime show at WDW so I wont be too upset when it leaves. The interim show does look interesting at least.

I've been to both and yeah I agree

bobandbill January 7th, 2019 2:11 PM

Been to a disney place twice. Once was one in California back when I was a young kid, so I don't remember everything. Second time was maybe 5-6 years back with a bunch of friends in Disneyland Tokyo.

baire January 7th, 2019 5:45 PM

my mom was one of the landscape architects who worked on a Universal Studios resort so since I have a vested interest in the discussion I hope people won't mind when I correct them and explain to them that, objectively speaking, universal >>> disney = ^)

colours January 7th, 2019 7:11 PM

no one's saying disney is better

except for scenery reasons and that much is subjective. :P

noa January 7th, 2019 7:39 PM

I have a question to ask this chat, but it might be a little personal.... Do I have the chat's permission to go ahead?

baire January 7th, 2019 7:45 PM

I was joking, I don't care which park people like more

but even then I'm not sure that scenery is as subjective as people make it out to be, Disney theme parks are generally recognised by design experts to be at or near the top, with universal studios being close. iirc some of disney's rides cost up to $200 million to make because of how design intensive they are. at any rate I know a lot of it is confidential because that's just how the industry works but design firms like Forrec are regularly hired for consulting roles on projects by universal studios/legoland/six flags/etc but not for Disney projects, they don't seem to trust a whole lot of people to manage their stuff; their quality of production is just impressive, probably better than universal studios, and not by an insignificant margin

alisaie January 7th, 2019 8:14 PM

I like the music that plays during illuminations so ill try to see it once more before it goes hahah. I know ill be going there at least once within the next few months.

Its honestly been too long that ive been to universal to really remember the scenery. All i remember is mostly the rides.

Applying sexuality terms to myself feels nauseating and off-mark. It's like what Pete Burns from Dead or Alive said:

Quote:

"[People] always want to know – am I gay, bi, trans or what? I say, forget all that. There's got to be a completely different terminology and I'm not aware if it's been invented yet. I'm just Pete."
I'm just me. That means an extensive appreciation for both sexes which is rarely consistent and sometimes approaches the asexual. Pigeonholing some people is a waste of time because they're like this globule of ectoplasm that keeps gaining new definitions.

But 'grats to the people who are secure in that respect. Like, they can call themselves something and it applies 100% per cent. I don't think I have that at all.

Does anyone else feel two-sided in every way?

Welp if Bi with very strong preferences counts as gay, I guess so.

I'm not gay, I'm European

Honestly I don't care for sexuality labels either...or even gender labels. Or any labels designed to strip me of my individuality and make me easier to understand for people who will never understand me. Just let me be me.

ive never been to disney and kinda doubt i ever will. just not my cup of tea. i've been to other amusement parks and the whole standing in line for hours thing isn't really worth it

alisaie January 8th, 2019 9:11 AM

I think i stood in an hr long line maybe.... twice since i started going to disney frequently. Both for new rides when their wait time wasnt 3 hrs long. Normally we just do our fastpasses and any rides that have a small wait time if we feel like it.

That said getting the chance to go on expedition everest at least five times within an hr is always fun lmaoo.

professor plum January 8th, 2019 7:23 PM

i will say that i really enjoyed the wizarding world of harry potter @ universal. holy shet, it was so fantastic. the level of detail was pretty phenomenal.
