i guess i could've done that :thonk: What are you planning on doing with your days off?!

i just had some delicious tacos, and I'm also planning things to do while we're in Miami in a few weeks. I'm excited to just relax at the beach.

yeah I went into today feeling like absolute garbage because my confidence was just destroyed (thanks to my QA who was providing harsh feedback at the time). but after letting my boss know that I'm The Sensitive Type and would rather not have people be so direct, she understood my position and where I was coming from and assured me that I wasn't in any way sucking or anything lol

it's just a huge relief to have off my back

Taemin June 18th, 2019 8:40 PM

That's good! I know I always feel bad giving harsh feedback to people at my job also, and I'm likewise with being a little sensitive with receiving it.

I hope things there continue to only go up!

Alexander Nicholi June 18th, 2019 9:50 PM

DCCs have lagged for years. Probably something got tinkered with back in the days Audy worked on the server side, and it was never discerned and solved. Version control would’ve been a quick save back then, I guess!

Dragging days are the worst. I really hope everyone's day passes quicker and easier than you're expecting.

I'm at home but I've got grass to cut. The big problem is that our garden is (and I'm not exaggerating) the size of a field. I'll still be getting beat up by the lawnmower this time tomorrow :(

Is it a pushmower or a riding mower? Either way, that sounds too much to maintain. I'm grateful our backyard isn't that bad. I...am not a fan of yardwork lmao

Yeah, my plan for the evening is to do a bit of prepping for other meals. Going to make some breakfast bites in bulk to freeze and heat up later.

this is why i hate the summer months. x.x

Taemin June 19th, 2019 10:36 AM

I love summer, I'm way more active! But.. I have no AC in my car, so that's a downer when I'm out and about. I like walking much better. x__x

professor plum June 19th, 2019 10:42 AM

i love cooler weather, but i'm not a fan of the lack of sunlight that comes with it. i'd also be better with warmer weather without humidity. down here in the swamp, it's usually a muggy gross heat.

Thats understandable too! Plenty of people like the cold better. lol
I think I have seasonal depression in winter months tho. x_x I used to like winter but oh well!

Warmth is good for Pokemon Go too LOL

colours June 19th, 2019 10:44 AM

It's also because I live in Florida so it's pretty much unbearable to go outside for any extended periods of time on the summer. :x

... For me, at least.

Palamon June 19th, 2019 10:55 AM

I literally can't feel heat, so I can go out in the summer with a jacket and I'll be fine.

Taemin June 19th, 2019 11:04 AM

Tsutarja June 19th, 2019 11:15 AM

Skip the sauna. Just go to Florida y'all

professor plum June 19th, 2019 11:22 AM

do any of y'all have any plans for the upcoming weekend? personally, i think i'm just going to be doing some yard work (weather permitting) and preparing for my boyfriend's surprise party i'm planning for the following weekend.

blue June 19th, 2019 11:28 AM

i've been florida smack in the middle of summer and lmao that shits unbearable

polymorphism June 19th, 2019 3:23 PM

The farthest south I've ever been (actually it was pretty far) was Galveston, TX and I absolutely hated it. I can't imagine how a more humid and hot climate like Florida would make me feel. Honestly the farther north the better for me.

As for what I'm going to be doing on the weekend I have a shift on Sat and Sun so I'll just be working. I've been thinking about getting a gym membership though and trying to spend time there when I am just doing nothing and sitting at home (like I currently am).

colours June 19th, 2019 3:33 PM

I would love to exercise except I do enough exercising walking 30 mins to work everyday (and sometimes 30 mins back).

One day when I have more free time I'll think more about jogging downtown hopefully to get some more cause I really want to try to get in shape these days. :c

polymorphism June 19th, 2019 3:39 PM

I've been thinking about optimizing my health by either walking to work (and home) every day since it's like 15 minutes by foot or investing an a bike (although idk where I'd put it at work).

colours June 19th, 2019 3:45 PM

I seriously gave some thought to getting a bike at some point but I'm actually terrified of crashing with a bike (that and I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid) so... probably not worth it.

polymorphism June 19th, 2019 3:46 PM

Is this you?

alisaie June 19th, 2019 4:10 PM

i was outside for like twenty minutes having to change something on my menuboard and after that the truck came and i was ecstatic because i had a reason to stand in the freezer for ten minutes to cool down

i love living in florida yall

polymorphism June 19th, 2019 4:18 PM

I've been extremely fortunate to be gifted a car by my grandparents (it's not perfect and it's 22 years old) but it's a mode of transportation and it has been mostly redone besides a rust problem on the roof.

I like the aesthetics that cities can have but generally I find life more pleasant outside of them.

Also somehow I have managed to not crash even once.

Fairy June 19th, 2019 6:13 PM

I especially hate driving at the moment. My fiance got into a head on collision at 80mph ten days ago and everything's just been so fucked up since then. Feels like I'm going to be thrown into a panic whenever I'm in a car - and it could be a while before we even find out if there's any lasting affects of the accident on my better half. Breaks my damn heart to think about it. :(

Ah, thank you!

An intoxicated 60 year old man crossed the double yellow lines directly into head on traffic on a busy highway. He was arrested for DUI, had an open bottle of wine, and over 100 prescription sleeping pills in the car. My fiance was cleared of any involvement in the incident, and our only saving grace is that this dude was insured. Apparently he lives in Florida, was driving a car registered in Kentucky, and ended up in New Jersey to pile drive us. The police report theorizes he was actually attempting suicide. :(

My fiance was pretty beat up. Not enough to be hospitalized long term, but enough that it's a problem and could present more in the future. Right now we're worried about and monitoring for nerve damage. All things considered though, he fuckin' walked away from that wreck and that's a blessing on its own. <33

Speaking of transportation thinking about using my own 2 feet in order to relieve some excess weight from my body tomorrow morning and for many mornings to come. I usually wake up pretty early anyway so I'm thinking I have nothing to lose.

I highly recommend walking for weight loss. Last year I dropped like 20lbs by just walking and it gave me the stamina / self esteem to be able to actually start going to a gym!
