HI ZERIA long time no see!!

what's up?

pkmin3033 August 21st, 2019 5:33 AM

Hey. On holiday at the moment, so I finally get a little time to relax ^^

How have things been for you?

colours August 21st, 2019 6:04 AM

applying for jobs :s this whole year has been sucking so far lol

glad to hear you're doing well, though!!

pkmin3033 August 21st, 2019 6:09 AM

idk if I'd say "well" exactly but...yeah, this is my welcome reprieve from work, home, drama, and doctor's appointments. The first break I've had since January...partly my fault for not booking any holiday until now I guess, but I don't get much time and I need my birthday, the last week of December, and the first week of January, so...yeah. Long haul.

...next week I spiral back down into the pit of misery I've been in for months, probably. But at least there are some good video games on the horizon!

Job hunting is a soul-crushing, tiring experience and I hope you manage to find something soon >.<

First day of classes today. Wooooo!

Neon Pink August 21st, 2019 4:48 PM

So anyway, some members of the school band (which of course includes me) are going to another state for a band competition during the Labor Day weekend. Band practice was so annoying today. It was so loud I couldn't hear myself play. And then one of the teachers was messing with my sound wth (I play keyboard btw).

Say if any of you were in school band or part of the marching arts in general, answer me this question...was there a keyboard player in your band? I need to know! Or is it just me....

colours August 21st, 2019 5:19 PM

I wish I can start classes again, but life has been really crappy this year, so I have to weather out the rest of this year first before even thinking about going back. x.x

I'd love to go back to school...I can't believe it's been 6 years already.

Guys the Amazon is burning :c

colours August 22nd, 2019 9:41 AM

ngl it stresses me out thinking about it, especially fearing that the future is going to get worse from here on out and people just aren't caring enough to do something to save our own planet. meanwhile im just one person so im unable to make much of a difference, if at all.

it just sucks.

Sami August 23rd, 2019 6:25 AM

it's a sad sight to see really and it sucks even more that I can't do much from over here :c

the_fast_reader August 23rd, 2019 7:13 AM

I had this whole mini-essay typed out as an answer but then I accidentally missclicked and it all got erased...
So I'm doing a short summary

Yes the amazon burning is a big deal, for a multitude of reasons:
- The obvious one: it's bad. Duh.
- The less obvious one: It technically happens every year to make room for cattle. It's suddenly big news only now because of the current political scene in Brazil and because Climate Change news are the hot topic right now that gets views/clicks.

That's good. I hope this trend continues, we need a lot of news about this, the ice caps, what every country is doing(or not doing),how bad things are in general, to get the message to as many people as possible. Please don't let it be just a fad that will stop as soon as 2019 ends.

That said, it's okay to take a break from time to time. The constant bombardment of bad news is bad for your mental health.
It's just makes you feel frustrated and powerless. I've had a rough couple of months dealing with this.
I used to wake up with this feeling of dread and fear of how bad things would get in the next X years.
I honestly felt like somebody had told me "You've got X years left to live, enjoy them".
The fault was mostly some very sensationalized article that, once I digged a bit more in depth, pretty much took the very worst-case scenario that assumed that we not only do nothing but pretty much increase emissions, and even then was still statistically improbable, as an absolute certainty. Cue all the "We're gonna day in X years" articles.

Then I slowly realized I couldn't go on like this.
Yes things are bad. Yes every time I read some news about another X kilometers of ice lost or forest burned or species that are going to go exctint I feel a stab of that same anxiety and dread.
But... I'm alive. Now. I'm lucky enough that things are still good here. Now.
I can't waste this present that I have right now in fear of how bad things are going to become in the next 10,30 or 100 years.
I could always get hit by a bus crossing the road tomorrow and then all that time spent paralyzed by fear would have been good for nothing.

It's important to keep informed, to be aware of what's happening so we can not actively make the situation a tiny bit worse.
But it's also important to step back and take some time for yourself and your life, and what you can do at "your" scale of things.

Thanks for this, the_fast_reader. I sometimes sink into despair reading all of the bad news, and how our planet is a ticking time bomb and we're just refusing to defuse it. But, today is where we are. We need to make the most out of it. It's counterintuitive to lose sleep over what will happen in the future. Just breathe, be in the moment, stay informed, and be the good you want others to be.

i havent encountered that heathen just yet, if i had i'd send him to the worst location known to mankind

a train producing facility

Cid August 24th, 2019 8:38 AM

I'm gonna go on a tangent here but the mention of trains reminded me of a scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

I hope Tom Holland still gets to play the character. FFH was such a good movie, too.

correction, being trapped in the shovel department of a supermarket located right next to railway tracks where a train passes by every 15 minutes

Sami August 24th, 2019 9:39 AM

Sorvete August 24th, 2019 10:27 AM

Pickles ❤️

addicted to dates lately though they’re so good in Africa

Cubeth August 25th, 2019 3:09 PM

Pickles are awful if you eat them alone tbh

pkmin3033 August 25th, 2019 9:10 PM

Pickles are one of those godawful substances that should never be consumed but is for some reason. Like so-called "seafood" although nothing that comes from the sea is edible either >.>

the_fast_reader August 26th, 2019 12:42 AM

Oooh that sounds good! Was it delicious! My weekend was okay, I've not been feeling so well so I mainly chilled for most of the weekend; however, last night I went to my parents' house to celebrate my mom's birthday. Unforunately, she didn't get there until an hour after everyone else left. But I stuck around so I could see her~

It was some spicy octopus dish, it was great but... too spicy for my taste and I even asked for it not to be that spicy...
Are you feeling better now, btw? How was everything at your mom's bday?

Cid August 26th, 2019 10:05 PM

You know octopus is good when the texture is just right. The worst ones are the rubbery ones.

Belated happy birthday to your mom, Tyler! Hope you are doing well! And whoever is reading this, too!

Neon Pink August 28th, 2019 5:53 PM

Hey guys...I have temporary access to an iPad. I will have full access to a laptop before the end of October...hopefully.

Edit: Man, there’s so much I want to vent on here. I am going to a band competition tomorrow morning for the Labor Day weekend. Fun I guess. But lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about my depressive addiction to feeling...numb inside. I like feeling sad and as cringy as it sounds...is emo the word? I wouldn’t do anything extreme. Just the feeling internally. Seriously, is there something wrong with me?

And then Is also wanting to switch instruments for band in 2020 and wanting to make a Pokémon comic for YouTube. You can tell my thoughts are all over the place. Hopefully there will be computers at the hotel so maybe I’ll reorganize my thoughts on the ride to the other state.

As for myself I got a job interview that I need to do well in, I need a job more than ever. Plus my dad being in a 24/7 state of coughing even though doctors say there's nothing wrong with him got me in such a stressful mood

Hiroshi Sotomura September 1st, 2019 9:03 PM

Good luck!

Being a uni student (again) who can’t commit to a full-time job, and having a casual job that isn’t the most ideal (being a waiter in a restaurant has its days), I’m now proud to say I am now a bartender. Still a casual job, but it pays well!

Hope the job interview goes well for you Ty.

Congrats on the bartender job Laslow.

The trip was an interesting trip. I am home now. The details of the trip is something I refuse to get into. Don’t ask please. Uh...happy Labor Day I guess. Just wanted to let you know that I’m home.

Caite-chan September 3rd, 2019 6:48 AM

I feel like I haven't been around here in forever. I had to suffer with work yesterday but I just hope that everything at work can go back to about as normal as possible. How was everyone's holiday weekend?

moon September 3rd, 2019 7:25 AM

It wasn't a holiday for me but I spent 3 days with 3 different friend groups anyways. It was lovely! I'm happy I can stay in contact with my favorite friends even if our careers take different paths and we move to different cities.

Caite-chan September 3rd, 2019 7:33 AM

I had to work for Labor Day and during the day it was just crazy but by the time I was getting ready to leave to was pretty much dead.

Witch September 3rd, 2019 12:28 PM

Unfortunately I had to work as well. It was heavily busy which annoyed me a bit, but oh well

Caite-chan September 3rd, 2019 12:31 PM

The only good thing about working holiday is getting holiday pay. Although I refuse to work Christmas because that is family time for me.

moon September 3rd, 2019 12:36 PM

I never get extra pay for any kind of work. It's a standard salary I get every month, but that's also kind of nice and reassuring. I know there'll always be money coming in every month unless I totally screw up and get fired, which isn't easy to do as there's 34985 laws in place to protect even mean/stupid workers d:

Caite-chan September 3rd, 2019 12:40 PM

Sami September 4th, 2019 6:18 AM

I barely go outside and I got sick, no one is truly safe

Neon Pink September 4th, 2019 8:16 AM

Flu season already? Not looking forward to the colder season as I hate...the cold.

Anyway, since the trip, i've been growing more irritable lately, but I haven't been feeling so called "numb." I'd rather have the flu over extreme anger but that's just me. I miss numb. I really do but don't fight me.

Plans for today after classes/school: Start my Pokemon Comic, and watch the new Nintendo Direct. Let's hope I follow through with those plans today.

Flowerchild September 4th, 2019 8:49 AM

Witch September 4th, 2019 12:51 PM

Customers and kids are coming in here sick. I'm trying valiantly to avoid them :x I really can't afford to be sick

Caite-chan September 5th, 2019 5:46 AM

I'm tired of being sick but I'm just glad I have insurance to go to the doctors now. I'm so tired of people not watching their own kids and taking better care of them. Don't take them out if they are getting sick.

Neon Pink September 5th, 2019 8:44 AM

Hey Rainbow. The comic is just about the Pokemon I kept in my Crystal games (not transferred to Ultra Moon), and their stupid misadventures in the Johto Region. IDK really. I only kept six in Crystal. I didn't even put a dent in this comic/project last night. But I watched like 75% of the Direct before the internet buffered up. :(

Yue Han September 5th, 2019 11:47 AM

I got a yellow fever vaccination the other day which may give me flu like symptoms over a 10 day period while my body "absorbs" it. So far so good though...

EmTheGhost September 6th, 2019 2:16 AM

Hey, guess what just happened? I was walking across my room with the lights off, and I stepped on some sort of electronics charger! Prongs up, of course!
