Sami July 16th, 2019 10:06 AM

that's still very cool I know very few who's 1st language isn't Dutch that can understand the language :p

Circuit July 16th, 2019 10:11 AM

It's nice to meet someone else who can speak German haha, I don't meet many people online who can tbh ^^

Dutch gibberish is only gibberish if it's gibberish, else it's not gibberish. You know?

Nyuutaipu July 16th, 2019 10:14 AM

Yeah I remember the Dutch claim German is gibberish, while the Germans claim Dutch is gibberish.

Sami July 16th, 2019 10:17 AM

everything not Dutch is gibberish :mfw:

Noblejanobii July 16th, 2019 12:48 PM

Pretty sure it's the other way around

Kitty July 16th, 2019 1:22 PM

Definitely the other way around :thonk:

Sami July 16th, 2019 1:23 PM

wow bullies :dansad:

Circuit July 16th, 2019 1:32 PM

So everything Dutch is gibberish :thonk:

Yue Han July 17th, 2019 4:09 AM

A Dutch friend of mine says that Flemish is like old fashioned sounding Dutch. Like how she expected her grandparents to speak back in their younger days or something like that.

Also add me to the 'never learnt to ride a bike club'. It's moved very far up the list though since I'm going to be spending most of my time outside November onward.

Noblejanobii July 17th, 2019 5:22 AM

I learned how to ride a bike then didn't for like a decade. Took me about a day to relearn how to ride a bike. It's true what they say about never forgetting.

colours July 17th, 2019 5:31 AM

I would never ride a bike around these parts because a) I don't trust myself to and b) I most definitely don't trust a lot of the drivers here lol

Sami July 17th, 2019 5:31 AM

Riding a bike is mandatory here... If you don't do it they'll throw you out the country into a Belgian Supermarket

colours July 17th, 2019 5:34 AM

A lot of the people who ride bikes still take the bus anyway because for whatever reason things are that spread out here. 🙃

Tsutarja July 17th, 2019 6:54 AM

I wish I lived in a city where you wouldn't need a car to get around from place to place, really.

Caite-chan July 17th, 2019 7:07 AM

I wouldn't mind doing more bike riding but there's to many asshole drivers around and not enough sidewalks to ride on.

Yue Han July 17th, 2019 7:13 AM

I've been so spoiled with transport living in a city with a very extensive (and very affordable) metro system that connects to two high speed railways stations and another normal long distance railway station plus the airport which is a big international one. When/if I settle down which, if I choose to live in a city, I will settle for nothing less again!

Nyuutaipu July 17th, 2019 1:32 PM

Heh I only recently ever rode with a metro, most my life was normal train travel or bus travel so it was a fun new experience ^^

colours July 17th, 2019 3:30 PM

I've never been on a train before tbh.

... never really needed to. The train here is more if you're going to a different county altogether, so there was never really a need for me to travel that far.

Sorvete July 17th, 2019 3:51 PM

I haven't either. There aren't trains around my region anyway, but it's something I'd like to experience someday.

colours July 17th, 2019 3:54 PM

I'd like to experience getting on a plane at some point, too! Truth be told a part of me will always be afraid of flying because of heights reasons, but I've always wanted to travel around so I feel like I have to deal with it sooner or later. ._.

It can be terrifying but speaking from my experiences, I've only really been scared when we've hit turbulence. Perhaps not sitting in a window seat or not looking out the window would help with your fear of heights.

Nyuutaipu July 17th, 2019 4:36 PM

Yeah I talked about it with other people before, when I need to go to another country I usually take the train. Because comfy and stations everywhere, but was already thinking about where my first plane travel should go to. Due to family it may be Tokyo-Narita airport in 2020 or 2021 ^^

colours July 17th, 2019 4:38 PM

Aisle seat is really the only viable option when flying because sitting in the middle seat is awful because then whenever you have to use the restroom you have to scoot past whoever is in the aisle seat and back and ughhhhhhhh. And then if they're larger (I mean genuinely no offense to big people but this is an issue given how cramped seats are) it's even more embarrassing to keep doing this, so honestly if I'm ever flying I'm only sticking with aisle seats.

With online check-in or when you check in at the desk get a seat on the row next to the emergency exit doors if one is available. More leg room.

I do agree about aisle seat in general though, and when others need to go to the toilet it's a good excuse to stand up for a while to have a stretch.

Something I always do too is wait to be one of the last people to board so I don't have to sit for ages on the plane when everyone is up and down and up and down again.

Yeah, definitely considering this. Back when I worked as a travel agent, I found out that exit row seats are basically mandatory for really tall people cause they can barely fit in any of the other seats otherwise.

... this is actually really smart tbh I never thought of this. gonna do this too. xD

Ivysaur July 17th, 2019 11:24 PM

I did that last time in my flight from Stockholm to Madrid and the cabin got full of hand lugagge so I had to hand mine over to be put into the cargo, which meant waiting the usual 35 minutes for it to come out later after arriving. So waiting is not a guaranteed win, either.

Sami July 17th, 2019 11:57 PM

I only had a backpack during my flight so I could just stuff it under the chair in front of me

Tsutarja July 18th, 2019 4:57 AM

I flew for the first time in my life earlier this year and the one thing I do actually regret is not having my Switch out on me while on the plane. That, and I didn't have any music on my phone at the time. :why:

Sheep July 18th, 2019 5:12 AM

flying terrifies me, I've been on planes over 20 total times now and it doesn't get better
thanks anxiety/brain chemical imbalance

Sami July 18th, 2019 5:14 AM

the only thing that terrifies me when flying is missing the connection so you're royally screwed

why does this always happen to me

colours July 18th, 2019 5:21 AM

being in a car would terrify me more than being in a plane

see, i dont trust myself behind the wheel but at least there are experienced people with thousands of flight hours in the cockpit of a plane

Noblejanobii July 18th, 2019 6:00 AM

I get very car sick whereas I don't get air sick as much so I'd take a plane over a car any day.

professor plum July 18th, 2019 9:03 AM

hewwo everyone how are our thursdays going

Same here, when I went to the zoo with the family in a 1,5 hour car trip I felt awful for 1 hour and even felt it at the zoo itself

meanwhile with the airplane it's all a-ok...

professor plum July 18th, 2019 9:56 AM

ty how did your interview go?

our seats for our flight on sat are going to be random, but i hope i get an aisle seat lmao

Sami July 18th, 2019 10:00 AM

it went pretty smooth, though dunno yet if i get the job, might hear more about that next week

and in that very same week i got another job interview

alisaie July 18th, 2019 12:26 PM

hope things work out for you ty!

hello yes hi i am testing something bc tyler asked me to

Nyuutaipu July 18th, 2019 12:34 PM

Oh job interview? :0 I hope it all goes well, I dread job interviews had to do a mock one for an internship when I was like 16 ^^; I pretty much just winged it.

Sami July 18th, 2019 12:45 PM

Thank you thank you thank you all

im scared

colours July 18th, 2019 12:51 PM

I hope you get the job, TY!!

ngl speaking of job interviews I feel like I'm so used to them at this point (because... I've had a lot of jobs over the years + interviewed for more) that my anxiety when it comes to them is pretty much almost zero.

except for when the recruiters pop the whole "tell me about a time when..." questions. .__.

Nyuutaipu July 18th, 2019 12:56 PM

Oh by this point I feel like I can do them too, here we are consistently told the problem is not being better than anyone else, because my country wants a new generation of trained workers so you do get a job easily here if you try, they just want to sort out the uninterested from the interested in the job ^^ so with this mindset job interviews became easier for me

Sami July 18th, 2019 1:07 PM

Im very used to them aswell to the point I blabber more than I did when I first applied for jobs where I was just scared shitless

Nyuutaipu July 18th, 2019 1:21 PM

That's good, then the interviews should just go fine c:

Sami July 18th, 2019 1:27 PM

they do go fine, im just afraid it will be another case of "we're going through with someone else" which necked me almost every single time T_T

colours July 18th, 2019 1:29 PM

my life got flipped and turned upside down
and id like to take a minute just sit down there
i'll tell you all about my shovel issues everywhere

Nyuutaipu July 18th, 2019 1:54 PM

I have many weird tales, but they are all neatly locked away in my mind vault :p

Sami July 18th, 2019 2:07 PM

i tried locking them but like my bases in Terraria, they always blow up

Nyuutaipu July 18th, 2019 2:14 PM

That's bad on your part then, make it more secure :p

Sami July 18th, 2019 2:21 PM

what do you mean its a fortress i cant help it my mad tales have the firepower of an worldwide army

Nyuutaipu July 18th, 2019 2:25 PM

Tsk, you are truly confident in the ability of your mad tales it seems. Well then just built the strongest fortress known to man.

Sami July 18th, 2019 3:03 PM

but my mad tales are amazing

alisaie July 18th, 2019 3:47 PM

keep in mind ty builds his houses with tnt for ~aesthetic~

and then complains when they get blown up

Sami July 18th, 2019 3:54 PM

Blatant lies I bet Jake told u that

alisaie July 18th, 2019 4:03 PM

Did you try taking your sunglasses off? ;)

I hope everyone is well.

I'm trying to get myself excited for seeing The Lion King remake tomorrow night but in all honesty I have a feeling it's going to be dreadful.

Cubeth July 18th, 2019 7:55 PM

I don't know, personally I think it looks pretty good, it's one of the few live actions movies I think look promising compared to the original. And after actually liking Aladdin, which I thought would be horribly awful, I'm in to watch this one.

I'm still sick. ;_; Want to go eat lunch since I had a very small breakfast but don't want to sit next to people at the cafeteria (we're at a hotel atm for a trip) because I'm too unwell, and don't want to order service directly to my room because it's not free (vs. the free food if I were to go out). kinda stressful day in general, it stinks to get sick when you're out enjoying new sights

I hope Lion King's live action adaptation will be good, really really don't want it to be a letdown :<

colours July 19th, 2019 3:54 AM

not to like brag but thank goodness I get sick maybe like once a year if even that

maybe I just don't go outside enough to get sick or hang around other people enough, but still

Sheep July 19th, 2019 7:47 AM

lucky duck I get sick often enough it seems, it sucks

colours July 19th, 2019 8:16 AM

Sami July 19th, 2019 8:36 AM

when i get sick it gets really bad but its very rare

Nyuutaipu July 19th, 2019 10:23 AM

I get sick every now and then, had a sickness once that had me out for like 4-5 weeks was bad times.

Caite-chan July 19th, 2019 11:44 AM

Noblejanobii July 19th, 2019 2:21 PM

Ye I just don't want to study for my final. Chemistry is so boring for me.

Tsutarja July 19th, 2019 3:08 PM

Chemistry was fun....not

although what's interesting is that when I was in high school chemistry, I used to be scared of lighting bunsen burners, but in college chemistry I was more than comfortable. It's weird how a fear of fire can just go away like that

Nyuutaipu July 19th, 2019 3:38 PM

I didn't have anything chemistry or physics related since secondary school, which I am a bit sad about but eh, pursuing other fields of education and chemistry is not really needed.

Sami July 19th, 2019 3:43 PM

As soon as I got the chance I ditched Biology and chemistry in favor of Economics and maths

Best Choice Ever

Nyuutaipu July 19th, 2019 3:50 PM

Ew maths, I never got behind maths but economics was always fun.

Sami July 19th, 2019 3:52 PM

Maths was way too easy for me so it would be a silly choice not to go through with maths

I know what the numbers mean

Caite-chan July 19th, 2019 3:52 PM

I'll take Geometry and that's about it.

Nyuutaipu July 19th, 2019 5:34 PM

Geometry was also never mine, I always was good with languages though

alisaie July 19th, 2019 6:13 PM

The only math class that I liked past algebra was statistics lmao

Cubeth July 19th, 2019 6:19 PM

Don't talk shit about maths like that please

Caite-chan July 19th, 2019 6:28 PM

I hated it all other than Geometry. Took me 3 years to pass Algebra.

alisaie July 19th, 2019 6:39 PM

My geometry teacher was the absolute worst so I can't say the same lol

colours July 19th, 2019 6:52 PM

I've never really cared much for math. I've been ok at it, but not great. This is likely due to the fact that my math teachers throughout grade school were pretty hit and miss (mostly miss), so whenever I got a math teacher that didn't do a great job at teaching the subject matter, I would just doze off and not pay attention and barely put in the effort to do the work. The math teachers that cared and had passion for what they were doing, on the other hand, I was far more invested in.

As a whole though, I just don't like dealing with math all that much if given the option. ._.

Bay July 19th, 2019 9:06 PM

I think the only math teacher I really disliked was my Pre-Calculus teacher in my senior year of high school. Something about her teaching style me and several of her students didn't like. The only other Pre-Calculus teacher we have teaches it 0 period, which is basically before regular school hours oof.

Sami July 19th, 2019 10:37 PM

I don't remember any teachers oof

colours July 20th, 2019 2:21 AM

my sixth grade math teacher was awful and i hope to not have another person like him ever

Sorvete July 20th, 2019 2:23 AM

lol Yeah pretty much all of my math teachers were awful. There must've be one or two that were at least decent.

Sami July 20th, 2019 5:45 AM

as a matter of fact i barely remember any teacher I had before my IT course

Nyuutaipu July 20th, 2019 6:43 AM

It's weird when I really sucked in math, (7th grade of secondary school) is when I had my best math teacher. My music class teacher was also always awesome really liked learning with her ^^ Otherwise we had some cool teachers here and there

Sami July 20th, 2019 6:47 AM

I do remember going from maths to basic calculating which to me felt like a downgrade even though I took higher education

teacher made a big fuzz about the exam and I sat there like "im finishing this in 5 mins and ill ace it too while im at it
which is exactly what I did and everyone else took 2 hours over it

Sheep July 20th, 2019 8:28 AM

math is one of my worst subjects lol, no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to be good at it @[email protected] will just stick to the arts than science/maths

Nyuutaipu July 20th, 2019 1:34 PM

I don't have many classes I hated, but I had some I absolutely loved like English, History, and Economics because either they were fun or interesting, or even both! So I always loved doing them, so don't have many bad stories about classes or teachers

Sami July 20th, 2019 1:44 PM

I hated art classes, ended up with a 1/10 average cause of being forced to draw things I despised

Nyuutaipu July 20th, 2019 1:48 PM

But everyone loves a suffering artist! I had art classes too, always average grades

Sami July 20th, 2019 1:49 PM

that wasnt suffering that was pure torture

if i didnt knew any better back then I'd have crusaded against schools too!
