Defeating Mew/Mewtwo team...

Okay, to defeat a team of 5 Mewtwo and 1 Mew, what pokemons should I use?
Only weakness I can find in Psychic (Mind this is Red/Blue/Yellow/Stadium :P) is bug attacks...Though, then only pokemon that can win is Beedrill, as I can see...
Please help :)

choice banded deoxys with shadowball should end it quite easily.

Bleep he said it was Red, Blue, Yellow, and Stadium, which means he can't Choice Band, much less get a Deoxys.:\

use a team of six mewtwos? lol

seriously though, snorlax should be a good pokemon.. awesome sp.def and nice att.

btw, you might want to try out the newer games. r/b/y is kinda old.

Snorlax works awesomely. This is a case where Hyper Beam is good. Also a Trode with Explosion and T/Wave helps.

I think Body Slam is better than Hyper Beam
Let see.....
Hyper Beam only attack every 2 turns, so
150 power/2 = 75 only, and Body Slam attack is 85
Every 2 turns....
Hyper beam attack once only, total power= 150
Body Slam attack twice, total power= 170

Body Slam will cause parlysis too
Which will u choose?

Only if you're desperate. After all, correct me if I'm wrong, but in the RBY series, aren't you barred from using items during a player-to-player battle? (It's been a long time since I've battled using games from that series.) If so, then you're pretty much screwed if you use Explosion, especially if there's not really a guarantee that the strategy will OHKO the entire team. (Mew's a most likely. It's the Mewtwo you have to worry about.)

That said, if someone seriously loaded a team full of Mewtwo (and Mew), then chances are you could probably get away with just blasting the suckers with a high-powered move (e.g. Earthquake). After all, no offense to your opponent, but five Mewtwo and a Mew make me think someone's a bit lacking in the experience department, so you won't necessarily have to worry about strategy (unless I'm underestimating him or her).

Anyways, if I recall correctly, Mewtwo's main weakness is its Defense. It's still a bit on the stellar side, but it's still an opening that I highly recommend you use to your advantage.

Really, I'll have to agree in saying if you've got a Snorlax, you're pretty much set to go. You might benefit from a nice Chansey as well. (Light Screen and Softboiled alone will drive your opponent freaking nuts. Add in Bide, and you've got a Chansey that can actually take a few hits and deal some damage too. Granted, Chansey's not much of an attacker, but let's face it. Five Mewtwo at once means the basic rules are pretty much null. Not to mention it doesn't matter with Bide anyways.)

starmie and eggy will help a bunch as will chansey

All the Mewtwo's know Recover, one of them Strength, Swift and Psychic. The Mew knows Subtitute, Softboiled...Don't remember the two other attacks
But, can Snorelax learn some Recover/Softboiled etc moves?

And c_dog, my friend won't start with the new games, so I have to beat him with RBY rules...Where Psychic Pokemons lack weaknesses...It had been so much easier with some Dark Pokemons -.-"

Kaiyori June 25th, 2005 4:42 AM

I'd say deoxys with shadowball too

Da Schwarz June 25th, 2005 7:11 AM

gahhhh... its for red/blue/yellow not the new games

er, of course snorlax learns recover moves. it's called "rest" it's one of snorlax's signature attacks, imo. i think you can just earthquake his entire team to death with the 2 snorlax that you catch. using some other pokemon that are resistant to psychic helps also.. it's just those pokemon may not be able to do much damage against mewtwo with its high special defense. but definitely you can use jynx or executtor with lovely kiss and hypnosis to put a couple of them to sleep... or maybe give your tanks(snorlax chansey) toxic or something. i dunno, it shouldn't be hard -_-

Doomhanger June 25th, 2005 4:58 PM

Use this, it works

[email protected]/Focus Band

-Mirror Coat
-Rest
-Surf
-Barrier

You probably wouldnt need barrier, since there will be no physical attacks. Replace with toxic is necessary. The usual strategy would be to pad defence, then use Mirror Coat and Surf at the right time.

=/ its too bad he's up against 6 psychic pokemon
