I need advice for my Sapphire team

Ok, here's my recently assembled Sapphire team. I need some advice for it, cause I'm not quite sure about the movesets.

[email protected] Band
Brick Break
Earthquake
Rock Slide
HP Ghost

[email protected]
Acid Armor
Amnesia
Flamethrower
HP Grass

[email protected] or Salac?
Synthesis
Solarbeam
HP Fire
Sunny Day

[email protected]
HP Ground
Ice Beam
Surf
Aerial Ace

[email protected]
Ice Beam
Crunch
HP Psychic
Explosion
or
Explosion
Spikes/Block
Toxic
Hail

[email protected]
HP Water (I couldn't get HP Grass)
Thunder/bolt
Rain Dance
Bite (what to replace this to? BP won't work without Sub/Agility/Wish/etc.)

Any advice?

I'm a little in the dark on the HP, I'm guessing its Hidden Power but I could be wrong. Now for some ideas. I've worked with all of these Pokemon exept for Armaldo, Glalie & Jolteon. But I'm kind of good with Lightening types, so I'll try with Jolteon.

Armaldo: I like the moves, Earthquake and Rock Slide. That keeps it close to home with its Bug/Rock types. Thats good. Like I said I can't help out with the HP part, I'm sorry about that. Brick Break seems good since it destroys those pesky moves that the Psychics put up. Like Light Screen and Reflect. I'd keep him the way he is.

Magcargo: I never really was crazy about raising the Special Attack and Defence of a Pokemon. Unless I was using Overheat and it still didn't work for my Torkoal. Acid Armor raises Evasion, which is a good thing. Evasion is one of those things that can make your opponet mad because they barely can hit you. So thats a good thing. Flamethrower keeps it close to home with its Rock/Fire type and thats good too. When I used Slugma/Magcargo on my first game of Ruby, I used its Rock Throw. But Armaldo makes up for that with its Rock Slide though. Overall it looks good.

Tropius: First off, I put my Swellow in the my PC Box and started to use Tropius. Why? I needed a Grass Type and I started with Mudkip and I didn't want to use Lotad mainly because I already had a Water Type. But besides that, I looked over your move list for Tropius and it looks solid as it is. Healing from Lefties and Synthesis should keep your Tropius in good shape. Sunny Day should help out the HP Fire and Solarbeam is a good attack. Overall it looks good.

Pelipper: When I used my Pelipper, I didn't evolved it until it knew Hydro Pump. But your stratigy looks good as it is. Surf is a good attack and needed for the game to get around. Ice Beam is another good attack, mainly for the fact that it can Freeze your opponet's Pokemon. Aerial Ace can't be dodged and it attack, to my knowlage, that right there gives it a good advantage over your opponet's Pokemon. It looks better than the Pelipper that I was using in Ruby and thats a good thing.

Glalie: An Ice Type, something I've barely, if any at all, used before. I've already mentioned that Ice Beam is a good move so it would work ok with an Ice Type like Glalie. Crunch, now that move I liked better than Bite. But it was hard to find for me. I don't know why though. In Silver my Pokemon felt it by the Houndoom in the E4 and I can tell from that its a good move to have. Expecially if you're fighting those pesky Psychic Types. Like the Special Attack and Defence thing, I wasn't really a big fan of Explosion/Self Destruct. It puts reason to the saying 'If I go down, you're coming with me', but then again I wanted to have the Pokemon around to get the Experiance. But I can see it could help out if you're fighting a very strong Pokemon. It could faint it with the attack though. Hail's like Wrap or Fire Spin, attacks every turn and hurts both Pokemon, unless its of that same Type. I'm not for sure on this move though. Toxic, it hurts more than a normal Poison attack. Which is a good thing in a Trainer battle, you'll have to watch the HP of the Wild Pokemon in a Wild Battle if you use this. Spikes is like Hail in my case, I don't know much about it. Its not the best advise for Glalie, but I'm trying to help out.

Jolteon: Try Agility, the Speed boost that Jolteon should get from it should give it a sharp enough edge to stop your opponet's Pokemon. Thunder/Bolt, both moves are my favorites and either one would work good for Jolteon. Shock Wave would be a good third oppion, but Thunder/Bolt would probly be better. Rain Dance helps the HP Water (again, I don't know what the HP stands for, unless its Hidden Power) so that seems helpful for that. Overall, Jolteon looks to be in good shape.

With Leftovers on your Pokemon, they should be ok in the HP department. Unless you get hit by a Horn Drill or Fissure, but that can't be helped unless your Pokemon has the ability to stop those attacks. Note that these are my thoughts and ideas. Just thought I would try and help out.

Yes, HP stands for Hidden Power (TM10).

Amnesia only boosts Sp.defense and Acid Armor boosts defense. It works well as a tank for me because the opponent can't do a good damage to him because of these moves. HP Grass is better because it gets rid of Water, Ground and Rock types which he is weak to. He gets STAB by Falmethrower anyway.

Agility won't work because Rain Dance is needed to both power up HP Water and to boost Thunder's accuracy. Jolteon has a good speed already, so giving it Agility would only work with Baton Pass but those would take up 2 slots unfortunately :( .

Well anyway, thank you for taking your time and trying to give me some advice for my team.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was wondering about that.

That was something I was wondering about Amnesia. I've played the Pokemon games since about '97 and I really only used Amnesia not even a handful of times. Thats why I had no knowlage about it, but thanks for clearing that up. Acid Armor's one of those moves that I want to use, but its on the Pokemon that I don't use, like Muk and Vaporion. I don't think I got far enough with Magcargo to have him learn it though.

Ack, now I didn't know that. I really need to start using more moves like Rain Dance. I'll try to see if I can get that on my Manelectric on Emerald. Thanks again man.

No problem man, actually you've helpped me out too with your reasons for the moves. I didn't know about Amnesia and Rain Dance until today. I always thought Rain Dance was just to power up Water Type attacks only. Thanks again man and I hope some of my ideas sound good enough to work. :rambo:
