They reside in caves. Their scales glitter like the diamonds that surround them deep under the earth. They appear in the depths of the sea, their long bodies swimming, coiling and rising out of the abyss. They spread their magnificent wings to soar the skies. They are in the stars. Their very breath is fire. They are magic. They are the symbol of emperors. https://i.postimg.cc/LXX4K8tk/giphy-4.gif You have come into a place where only the brave dare tread. I am the lore keeper. This is a congregation for others who love the dragon as I do. Reshiram or Zekrom shall be your guide. Call upon the name of whichever you would prefer to follow. Shall you walk in the light of white Reshiram's fire or the black Zekrom's thunder? If you wish to join walk through the fire towards either of them and you shall rise like a dragon. You have nothing to fear so long as you are a true friend of dragons. When you pass through the flames or thunderstorm unharmed we will know you have the heart of the dragon, and I will write your name upon the scroll as a servant. Our halls await you noble brothers and sisters... https://i.postimg.cc/Hxc7FKP9/got-1x10-rewatch-banner-768x461.jpg Resident Lorekeeper: VisionofMilotic Dragon Tamers: Nah, TY, Dragon, Fairy, Hyzenthlay, BiohazardXIII, Fafrir, MysticalNinetales, NeverThere, __fred__40, DragonKing48, Firebolt, TheKillerRedSkull, Allen303, Roni, Figure, AMP017, Megan, Rekoil, Pikaboo, Poke fan number 489, _Confused_Piplup_, Starlight, Fact-Checking Gardevoir, Doctor https://i.postimg.cc/q7h0FHqf/Crystal-from-the-dragons-neck-JPG.jpg |
Ah, dragons, my second most favorite creature in the YuGiOh series and my most favorite creature in general c:
I'll join this club and join Zekrom I guess. Reshiram is cool and all but its Wyvern-like design makes it less appealing to me. |

Getting started...
**What are your favorite Dragon Pokemon? You may name as many or as few pokemon as you want. My very favorite is Dragonite! I love the design of this evolutionary line, and it's versatility and rareness. And no matter how many dragons they make this line will always be the very first. Edit: I am going to add Mega Sceptile as my #2 Honorable mentions to the Lati twins. **Have you ever encountered any shiny dragon pokemon? Yes, not many, but I treasure what I have. I have a shiny gible that I caught during a random encounter in Wayward cave while playing Pokemon platinum. He is a cutie. I also chain fished up a shiny horsea in Pokemon Y, and he is now a beautiful kingdra. I have a nice shiny Goodra that my boyfriend traded me as a gift, so that is a special one. **Other fictional dragons of interest? My favorite dragon movie and probably favorite all-time dragon is Draco from the 90s adventure movie Dragonheart. He is voiced by Sean Connery! **Some members may wish to be reborn with a glorious new dragon name. If so visit the name generator and find out your true identity. I just go by Sam, but evidently I am Dzujin Chaos Reptile The Hell Beast! https://www.namegeneratorfun.com/dragon It says of me that, "She has chameleon scales that change with her mood! She is cold-blooded and merciless and she likes to play with humans! She breathes vile, sulphurous fumes, poisoning the land!" Now, that is quite an introduction. |
**What are your favorite Dragon Pokemon? You may name as many or as few pokemon as you want.
Mine would be Haxorus, I just love the design and it's shiny is even better. Others include: Dialga, Garchomp, Salamence, Rayquaza, Giratina. **Have you ever encountered any shiny dragon pokemon? I've encountered a shiny Rayquaza in Emerald c: **Other fictional dragons of interest? Oh yes plenty. Starting off with Chaos Emperor Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh. I really LOVE how this dragon looks plus it has Emperor in the name, it must be majestic :b I also wanted to mention Cyber End Dragon but since he's technically qualified as a Machine I'm not too sure about it... it has Dragon in the name though. I could also talk for years about it since my bias will go through the roof. Also worthy mentions are Stardust Dragon, Hundred-Eyes Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend, Red Nova Dragon, Rainbow Dragon, Armed Dragon lv10. afaik there will even be a Stardust Dragon figure coming soon and I look very forward to buying one when I have the money for it c: |

It's my favorite Dragon type, and my favorite Pokemon Quote:

What's a Dragon club without Dragon
**What are your favorite Dragon Pokemon? You may name as many or as few pokemon as you want. There's Altaria (my all time favourite), the Dratini line, Kingdra, the Bagon line, the Axew line... to be honest, all the dragon pokemon are great in their own way! **Have you ever encountered any shiny dragon pokemon? Oh yes, I hunted for Shiny Raquaza, and Shiny Dratini before! **Other fictional dragons of interest? Draco from Dragonheart is awesome, and um! I used to watch this children's cartoon called Dragon Tales... the dragons there are pretty nice and fun. There's also Dragon Maleficent, which is the Dragon form of Maleficent, pretty cool looking! **Some members may wish to be reborn with a glorious new dragon name. If so visit the name generator and find out your true identity. I'm kind of a Dragon already. :3 Though I did that name generator and I liked Hasoshi Baleful Eyes The Lovelorn. |
*enters through Reshiram's blazing flames*
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Nyoryu Crimson Blaster The Vulcan! I have scales as crimson as glowing embers! I use my powerful lungs to blast apart houses and as if they were made of matchsticks! I blaze in the night like the raging inferno of a volcano! However, I go by many names. You may call me Clover, Annie, or Hyzen if you wish. :) **What are your favorite Dragon Pokemon? You may name as many or as few pokemon as you want. Flygon and Dragalge are the dragons I love best, but there are many runner-ups. Noivern, Dragonair, Haxorus, Drampa, Latias, Gabite, Giratina, Altaria—in fact, there are so many I love that it'd be far quicker listing the one's I'm just okay with! But those first two hold the trophy. I find Flygon regal and imposing in the right stance, while also being cute, and it's been one of my top favourite Pokémon for a long time. It is also very powerful! Dragalge may have less potential on the battling front, but when it comes to looks, I really adore it. Leafy sea dragons are gorgeous! Granted, its design can't be compared to the beauty of the real thing...yet I have a weakness for lovely fan art like this: Spoiler:
|
I will be joining as well. Must stay abreast of what the enemy is planning. >:]
**What are your favorite Dragon Pokemon? You may name as many or as few pokemon as you want. Dragonair, Altaria, Latias, Goodra, and Dragalge!! **Have you ever encountered any shiny dragon pokemon? Not in the wild, no. :( But I was given a shiny Axew back in the day! **Other fictional dragons of interest?Monster Hunter wyverns! Most specifically the Rathian line. She's just so majestic and wonderful. <3 Spoiler:
Another dragon very near and dear to my heart is the daddy-dovah himself, Paarthurnax! Spoiler:
And lastly, Terezi's Dragon Lusus! Spoiler:
Other honorable mentions go to Spyro, Falkor, King Ghidorah, Toothless, the GOT trio, and Volvagia! Okay so it turns out I actually like a lot of Dragons, who knew? **Some members may wish to be reborn with a glorious new dragon name. If so visit the name generator and find out your true identity.Quote:

Now that's a club for me, because I love dragons. :3 Can I join? My favorite dragon ever is Hydreigon. I also like Bahamut from Final Fantasy.

https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=9951230#post9951230 |
Wow! Did you guys just hear that? Jo just gave us this huge surprise. I feel like we all just leveled up together and learned Draco Meteor! I did not expect to be a monthly club. It only happened because of all of you wonderful dragon tamers. Let's keep building our dragon's den everyone! I have a new question for members! Topic: Pokemon who SHOULD be dragons, but are not. I'm going to start by mentioning an old friend, Milotic's big strong, elder brother Gyarados. Nobody deserves the honor of having dragonhood bestowed more than Gyarados. The flying typing is so tacked on, he can't even fly! If he's not going to be a pure water type, then the next most logical dual typing would be water/dragon. His other inspiration is clearly an east Asian imperial dragon with his serpentine appearance, and connection to storms and the sea. More specifically Gyarados and Magikarp are based on the Chinese myth of the Dragon Gate. It is the tale of a determined Karp who swims upstream against the river's current, and finally jumps over a waterfall, impressing the Gods, who transform him into a dragon as his reward. Gyarados knows almost the entire pool of dragon moves, dragon rage, dragon dance, outrage, dragon tail, dragon pulse. It knows hardly any flying moves. Who are they fooling? I can understand why in gen 1 he didn't get a dragon typing. First they wanted the Dragonite line to be special and one-of-a-kind. There was also the dilemma of making Gyarados overpowered since water's weaknesses to grass and electricity would have been neutralized by the dragon typing, and the dragon's weakness to ice would likewise get neutralized by the water dual typing. Fairies had not been invented yet, leaving it only weak to dragon. With only 1 dragon move in those days, which did only set damage Gyarados would have had effectively no weaknesses, so there had to be a check and balance. So I can see why at first they didn't just let him be a dragon, but why not by gen 6? I think not making his mega-evoloution was a bit of a missed opportunity. |
Yanmega.
I feel like they missed a huge opportunity to make a dragonfly a Dragon/Bug type, which would be the first of its kind. Unfortunately nothing in the game other than it being a dragonfly bolsters my choice since it doesnt have a single Dragon-type move :( |
I'm going to go with Heliolisk. It's literally a frill-necked lizard, and those typically always have some kind of Dragon affiliation! Hell, it basically was already a Dragon in Jurassic Park anyway lmao. It can learn Dragon Tail and Dragon Pulse too! Also Feraligatr, as a more European/classic Dragon looking Pokemon, I really think the dual typing could do it some favors! Dragon Claw, Dragon Tail, Dragon Dance, and Outrage! How could ya say no to that?
Yanmega is a super, super cool idea though. Ancient Dragonflies were mercilessly predatory and had a wingspan of up to 28 inches! >:] |
https://66.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2wp3dciF31qfwzeuo1_500.gif
I mean, Charizard just screams Dragon, aha. Sure, when it mega evolves to Mega Charizard X it becomes a Dragon-type, but I feel like it's base form is looking as much of a dragon too. It learns many dragon type moves, like it can learn Dragon Rage, and Dragon Claw naturally through leveling up. Dragon Pulse, Dragon Dance and even Outrage are just some of the Dragon-type Egg Moves it can have through breeding. The Charmander line also belongs to the Dragon Egg Group. |
Charizard was the ultimate Pokemon cheated out of a Dragon typing. A moment of silence, please.
https://media3.giphy.com/media/ToMjGplxKnHKanBqb72/giphy.gif |
kind of sad that some Pokemon got screwed out of being Dragon type and then they were like "let's making alolan fucking exeggutor part dragon because reasons"
|
oh yes to this day I still don't know why it's actually Dragon type

https://i.postimg.cc/Hks7Pn59/Ancient-Book-of-Giants.jpg A Dragon's Tale Dragons will always capture the human imagination. They are featured in art, literature and oral traditions across the globe, and are very ancient symbols. Each month I plan to showcase a different dragon from myth and folklore. I will call this series A Dragon's Tale. In this October's installment of A Dragon's Tale I bestow the honor on the Goddess Benzai-ten, who raised a landmass from the ocean to be her dwelling, the island of Enoshima according to the monk Kokei. Benzai-Ten is the daughter of the Dragon King of Munetsuchim, and she is one of Buddhism's Seven Gods of Good Fortune. This dragon princess can take the form of a beautiful maiden, but with the twist of having not just two, but eight arms underneath her robes! In artwork she is depicted usually in her human form, riding on the back of an enormous dragon. She holds dominion over not just dragons, but lower reptiles from turtles to snakes who act as her messengers. Benzai-ten wears a white serpent crown. She can also transform into a three-headed snake. Sometimes she wields a sword to defend the nation of Japan. https://i.postimg.cc/ZRsZXB4p/benzaiten7.jpg Because dragons are from heaven ancient Shinto priests often prayed to Benzai-ten to temper perilous storms to protect humanity, or send rain from the skies in times of drought to bring a bountiful harvest. There are many shrines to Benzai-ten to this day, such as the Enoshima Island shrine in Sagami Bay, Kamakura's Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine, the Chikubu Island shrine in Lake Biwa, Nagoya's Kawahara Shrine and the Itsukushima Island in Seto Inland Sea. https://i.postimg.cc/k5tSmZ5j/0-H8-Cnpudga-FJpa6-DM.jpg Benzai-Ten Is married to a dragon with five heads named Gozuryu. Gozuryu was a cruel dragon who reigned terror off the coast of Koshige for a thousand years, sending devastating earthquakes , storms and tidal waves, and eating the children who lived there. Gorzuyru's rampage came to an end when he first set eyes on Benzai-ten as she descended from the heavens, falling in love with her. She agreed to marry Gozuryu only if he promised to stop taking human lives. Gozuryu became a good dragon out of his love for Benzai-Ten, and was also a true companion to her. Benzai-ten has come to be known as a love goddess because of the courage and compassion she showed. Couples call upon Benzai-Ten to works her magic in matters of the heart. There are many tales of the dragon princess uniting lovers. https://i.postimg.cc/6qxg0D8F/benten1.jpg Benzai-ten is a charismatic deity who speaks with a silver tongue and divinely inspires the creativity in others by playing her musical instrument the biwa with her many arms. All good things flow from this dragon lady, and she is even said to have a magic jewel that can grant wishes. |
shes beautiful...
She actually reminds me of the Hindu goddess Saraswati; I think she’s originated from her? Or maybe she is her, in a different name? /can’t remember |
What an absolutely gorgeous legend. ;;

I was wandering how many members out there enjoy trading? In the future we could have giveaways or prizes of dragon legendaries or hidden ability or shiny dragons, but I would like to make sure that enough of my fellow dragon tamers would be interested and able to participate should the occasion come.
|
I don't think I can trade my dragons :c, but the idea is neat.
If i can find my 3DS I could participate though :p |
Quote:
You would just receive a dragon, not have to lose one. |
In addition to our new series a Dragon's Tale I am going to spotlight a different dragon type pokemon each month in no particular order, eventually I hope we discuss every dragon pokemon there is!
https://i.postimg.cc/NFKVkHz2/pokemon-go-giratina-origin-form.png The Dragon for the month of October is Giratina. I thought he would be a good choice because October is the month of Halloween, and Giratina is a ghost type as well as a dragon, a ghost with a fearsome appearance, and dark origins. According to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Giratina is a "Pokémon that is said to live in a world on the reverse side of ours. It appears in an ancient cemetery." Giratina's Pokemon Platinum dex entry reads that, "It was banished for its violence. It silently gazed upon the old world from the Distortion World." https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/anim/normal/giratina-altered.gif What do you think of Giratina? Do you like it? If yes, what do you like about it? If no, what do you dislike about Giratina? Giratina looks very primordial and intimidating like a demon straight out of the occult. I was a little afraid of him at first, but I think he is very interesting nonetheless, so I would say I like him. It is a striking design that evokes the fear, mystery and awe he is supposed to, and I think he fits in very well as part of the creation trio. He has an unforgettable and exciting battle theme, a very distinctive and beautiful shiny, and it is a really good Pokemon even by legendary standards with great stats overall, just monstrous heft, a cool item and lots of utility options and coverage. I have enjoyed Giratina's appearances on screen, especially in Pokemon Generations and the Arceus and the Jewel of Life movie where he's very heroic. Most of all I think his backstory in the games is interesting and deep. Which form of Giratina do you prefer? The Origin form or the Altered form? I like the Origin form best design-wise. But I like the bulk of the altered form. Did you ever play pokemon Platinum and journey through the Giratina's distortion world? Yes, that was really the highlight of the game and it made my opinion of the Sinnoh region climb higher. It was so surreal and challenging moving through this environment, and I really liked the increased roles for the Lake Guardians and Cynthia. |
Quote:
as for the topic at hand: What do you think of Giratina? Do you like it? If yes, what do you like about it? If no, what do you dislike about Giratina? My favorite legendary in Pokemon, the Ghost/Dragon typing at the moment was very interesting and it's just such an amazing looking dragon. Which form of Giratina do you prefer? The Origin form or the Altered form? I actually like the Altered form more, he just feels like a towering giant in that form. Did you ever play pokemon Platinum and journey through the Giratina's distortion world? yes and fun fact I got lost for 2 hours in it one time... long story |
Challenge: Share a dragon moment.
Post videos of cool dragons!!! This could be a movie scene, a cut scene from a video game, a character from a cartoon show, anything you like featuring dragons. The link below is from the beginning of my all time favorite dragon film (outside of Pokemon) Dragonheart. A wicked king is killed in a revolt by his people. The King's young son prince Einon gets wounded in the peasant's rebellion. With the help of a loyal knight, Einon's courageous mother Queen Aislinn drags her dying child to a sacred, old cave where an ancient dragon resides, praying for a miracle. |
I have a couple of questions to put to my fellow dragon tamers this month.
Do you remember the first dragon pokemon you ever caught? If so what pokemon was it? Mine was a Dratini from the safari zone in pokemon yellow. I really looked forward to catching that pokemon, it was so precious-looking and I respected that it was supposed to be nearly extinct. It was an especially enticing pokemon because they had not shown it properly in the anime at the time. The Legend of Dratini episode never aired in the US, and dragonite was kept really mysterious and in shadows during the Mystery of the Lighthouse episode, so I knew I was looking for something rare and special. It was not easy to catch since it didn't have the highest encounter rate, you needed the super rod, the rod doesn't always give you a bite, and when it does it is a psuedolegendary with a low catch rate, and you were armed with only a handful of safari balls and cannot battle It to weaken it. It was nerve-racking, but finally capturing a dratini was my pride and joy. I cheered. I still had my work cut out for me because it didn't evolve fully until level 55, but it was worth every moment of my time. The happy design when Dragonair evolves into dragonite is some that makes me smile. I named my first dragonite Sunny like the warm sunshine. Having a pokemon that powerful that my friends couldn't defeat really made me feel like I had a guardian angel protecting me. You will always be the King of the Dragons for me Sunny. Who is your favorite dragon pokemon trainer? Mine is the forgotten Zinnia. The Delta plotline is what made ORAS my favorite Pokemon game. Just when we thought the game was over and everyone was safe from Groudon and Kyogre, and the pokemon league challenge was complete, then this dancing wild child shows up and we have to save the world all over again with her help. I just find this character really intriguing and mysterious. I love the concept of the Draconids and particularly the job of the lore keeper to pass on the history of the world and reveal Rayquqza's true power. The mythology of the pokemon world is my favorite part of the series, and the inclusion of Zinnia was I thought a novel and dynamic way to usher in both new a plot and expand upon the existing world-building of my favorite region. Zinnia's relationship with her whismur and why it has the name Aster is also interesting. My girl Zinnia is wielding some really cool dragon pokemon on top of it all, my favorite being Goodra. |
Chances are that the first Dragon type I caught was a Dratini since I started with RBY, but that was so long ago now that I can't really remember. But the chances are pretty high.
|
First dragon type pokemon caught... probably a Bagon back in Sapphire, Or Gible in Pearl, dont fully remember.
|
Henlo dere, I wish to join this club with Zekrom. It's quite shocking!
I'll answer the rest of the questions later but Hydreigon is my favourite Dragon-type. I just love its colour scheme and it's a creative spin to the hydra. |
I didn't caught it, as it was a gift Pokémon, but the first Dragon-type Pokémon that I used was Dratini in Crystal. You know, the ExtremeSpeed one.
My favorite dragon Pokémon trainer is Lance. I just think he's really cool. |

Take up this dragon gem my sister! https://i.postimg.cc/Xqvd7Wtn/250px-Dragon-Gem-anime.png Hydreigon is indeed a great dragon pokemon. It's color scheme is brilliant, perfect for a master ball. It is indeed a very creative pokemon. It sounds like you know your Greek mythology! I have a German Hydreigon that was traded to me, Trikephalo. Since the name Hydreigon is derived from the German word for three "drei" as well as the mythological Hydra I think he's just perfect :) |
Many of us on PC have been anxiously following news about the Pokemon Sword and Shield games this year, from official updates to leaked content.
Are there any new dragons that you are looking forward to in Galar? I spoiler tagged my thoughts just in case there is someone here who is not quite ready to know what is in the Galar region and what is not, and means to save such discoveries for their own playthrough. Spoiler:
As most of you probably already know pretty much the whole pokedex for the Galar region has been leaked, and some pokefans are very upset by how small the dex is, myself included. Did your favorite dragon make the cut? You can view the pokedex here if you don't know. Bobandbill, Erik Destler and Sheep have all done an admirable job cataloging this content, keeping us up to date and well-informed and have written some really well-researched and interesting daily articles. https://daily.pokecommunity.com/2019/11/04/analysis-of-the-full-galar-dex/ Spoiler:

Thanks for accepting me!
**Have you ever encountered any shiny dragon pokemon? If the Haxorus, Gible, and Dratini from the Gen 5 games and events don't count then I have actually ran into a shiny Druddigon while leveling up my Pokemon for the living dex. **Other fictional dragons of interest? There's lots. My current avatar is a Spitzfire from the Dragon Quest series (higher quality image) and I really like how it's both a dog and a dragon and in 11 (a game I may or may not have poured 100+ hours into) it is quite a formidable foe at the start too. Dragon Quest also includes a drake, hydra, serpent, and even slimes that act like dragons. My favourite enemy is the Seasaur but it's more of a sea monster over a dragon. Edit: It seems like the images don't work on mobile, I'll fix them later. Edit 2: Should be good now hopefully. I've been reading a review on Digimon design and they have a lot of cool looking dragon designs. Some of my favourites are Cyberdramon, Dorugoramon, Metalseadramon, and Ouryumon. And then I like dragons from Final Fantasy and Spyro himself. Can't believe this slipped my mind but I love all the dragon designs in How to Train your Dragon. My favourite is the Deadly Nadder. Do you remember the first dragon pokemon you ever caught? If so what pokemon was it? My first Pokemon game was XD so I believe it was either Altaria or Salamence. Who is your favorite dragon pokemon trainer? I too like Zinnia a lot for the reasons stated; my username was Zinnia at one point too. Are there any new dragons that you are looking forward to in Galar? Spoiler: swsh thoughts

I'd be delighted to join this lovely club! Dragon types are incredibly unique and alluring, what's not to adore about them?
I shall follow Reshiram, the majestic ivory dragon! |
https://i.postimg.cc/FHZyHtmy/800px-Kyurem-anime.png
The Dragon for the month of November is Kyurem. With autumn nearing it's end and winter on the way this ice/dragon is here to usher in the days of night and cold that lay ahead. The month of November is also a time that signifies transformation, and Kyurem is a very transformative pokemon, born from the leftovers of the original dragon from ancient times that split into the electric dragon Zekrom and the fire dragon Reshiram, Kyurem is able to fuse with either of them as black or white Kyurem. Zekrom and Reshiram represent yin and yang respectively, and Kyurem represents wuji, the absence of yin and yang. https://i.postimg.cc/g0nZzCrT/kyurem.gif Kyurem's Black 2/ White 2 entry reads, "This legendary ice Pokémon waits for a hero to fill in the missing parts of its body with truth or ideals." What do you think of Kyurem? I would say that this is a very interesting pokemon. My favorite of the Tao trio is Reshiram, but I think Kyurem is still kinda cool. I like all three of them. He looks ferocious, and ice/dragon is a really unique typing. I think the idea behind this pokemon and it's mythology is also thought-provoking. There are so many different legends about him, even that he came to earth riding on a meteor. I love his voice also in the Sword of Justice movie, both the original and the dub. Which Kyurem form do you prefer? His base form, black or white Kyurem? I like actually his base form best, even though he's not as powerful as his altered forms, I like the cleaner, simple design. Did you enjoy Kyurem's increased role in BW2? While I like the overall plot of the original BW games best, I do like that they expanded Kyurem's part in the sequels because he is just as interesting as Reshiram and Zekrom, and I enjoyed getting to know Dryden as a character better in the process and helping him try to protect his city from the New Team Plasma, and keep him family heirloom out of their hands and save Kyurem from being misused. I did feel for Kyurem, hearing his sad cry. |

What do you think of Kyurem?
I think he's an interesting one. Ice/Dragon is a unique typing and his design speaks for itself. I really wanted one on my team back when I played the 5th generation of Pokemon games. Which Kyurem form do you prefer? His base form, black or white Kyurem? Like Sam, I too prefer the base form, the fused forms just look too odd for me to enjoy. Did you enjoy Kyurem's increased role in BW2? Yeah certainly. Made for a more interesting game instead of having to find him on your own in BW. The same way I really liked Giratina's increased role in Platinum, the same can be applied to Kyurem, even though with Kyurem there was more emphasis on his fused form. |
What do you think of kyurem?
I love Kyurem! I think he has a marvelous design concept, he truly doesn't resemble any other dragon pokemon in the slightest, and I love his typing. I also love the folklore that surrounds Kyurem. Unlike other legendaries, Kyurem's not a pokemon that is considered heroic or almighty, rather its something that is feared immensely. Which Kyurem form do you prefer? His base form, black or white Kyurem? White Kyurem is my favourite! I think that is a perfect blend of Reshiram and Kyurem! I adore both dragons so of course the combination of both is spectacular! Did you enjoy Kyurem's increased role in BW2? Oh absolutely! I actually just finished re-playing Black 2 and I love the storyline. I think the games are some of the best entries in the series, honestly. Anyway, Team Plasma attempting to use Kyurem's power to freeze over the Unova region is very unique and it's considerably different from their goals in Black/White. I do wish we got to use Kyurem's fused form a little more, though! |
I like Kyurem, though idk which form I'd say is my favorite. Did use the base form a fair bit on Showdown and Battle Spot though (even though it's considered the weakest of the three forms lol). I just hope that one day, maybe in a Gen 5 remake, that we get to see the dragon from the fusion of all three of them.
Still drives me nuts though how armless, handless Wooper can learn Ice Punch, but Black Kyurem with its big burly arms, cannot. pls fix nintendo |
What do you think of Kyurem?
It's definitely my favourite Ice-type because I can appreciate how broken and hollow it looks. It's my favourite out of the Tao trio too. Which Kyurem form do you prefer? His base form, black or white Kyurem? Probably base form but I can appreciate how messy and jumbled the fusions are. Did you enjoy Kyurem's increased role in BW2? I did! The fact it froze an entire city while ominous music plays is delightfully eerie. I definitely need to replay those games, especially since I bought the games used because I refuse to reset my original copies. |
It looks all of us like Kyurem so far! Does anyone else remember an old lady NPC from BW2 who recounts the "Old Tale of Lacunosa Town" to the player, Bianca and Professor Juniper?
Old Lady: A long, long time ago, the Giant Chasm was created when a big meteorite fell from the sky. A really scary pokemon was hidden inside that meteorite. Professor Juniper: A meteorite... Old lady: When darkness falls over the land, this pokemon appears. A frigid wind follows it. It freezes everything around and eats people and pokemon. That's why everyone was afraid. Bianca: The pokemon ate p-people? Old Lady: So our ancestors surrounded our town with walls, to prevent the pokemon from getting inside the town. Also a rule was made forbidding anyone to go outside after dark... What do you guys think of this legend? I think it sure is creepy and intrigues me, but I also think it is probably not wholly true. It sounds like the ancient people encountered Kyurem, but I do question the parts about Kyurem devouring the village people. I am not skeptical of it just because it's dark and scary, the pokedex is filled with similar stories of pokemon destroying cities, hunting and eatting other pokemon, taking revenge, killing humans, stealing their souls and more. That being said, there's also an ongoing theme of people coming to the wrong conclusion about pokemon as well-- absol is a perfect example of that. Folks fear absol, and wrongly blame him for natural disasters that strike, when the reality is that he's actually there to warn and save people, and isn't the cause of anything bad that happens. I think wandering too close to Kyurem or areas where he is would probably be hazardous and fatal to many people and pokemon since his body is made of ice, and his very presence produces subzero temperatures. Hypothermia, frostbite and other nasty things might have been the end of some unfortunate villagers, and their disappearances could have been attributed to he big bad monster eating them. I don't think he literally roamed through Unova in search of tasty victims. Kyurem seems to be a creature who just wants to be left alone, hence why he stays in the darkness of the chasm. If he really did want to kill the people of Lacunosa than I think they would need more than an ordinary wall to keep him out of their town. He's a giant dragon. He would just fly over the wall, or destroy it with one of his attacks. If the old lady had said the ancient priests erected a magical forcefield that Kyurem can't cross, or the village chief made a pact with Kyurem to leave offerings and sacrifices for him in exchange for sparing the town...then maybe I'd believe it. But the way the story is told makes me think the games are probably pulling our legs. What do you guys think? Is Kyurem the man-eating monster the old lady heard he was, or is he just misunderstood? |
A measly wall won't stop Kyurem, Kyurem can basically just waltz through it like a battering ram if he wanted to.
I personally believe he just wants people to begone from the Giant Chasm and that's about it. |
It's possible that Kyurem occasionally gets the urge to snack on human flesh (there's always been low-key fucked up shit in Pokemon), but it's probably more likely that it's not completely true and things have just been lost to or warped by time, as often happens with old events. But who knows really.
|
What do you guys think Kyurem eats regularly if it might not be people? Does he still eat meat like other Pokemon or animals? Does he stick to rare candy and castelia cones? Does he even need to eat often? Maybe this guy hibernates for long periods of time. If he is made of ice and energy perhaps he doesn't even eat at all.
I am curious about what a dragon's diet would be. I guess that would vary depending on the dragon. I just don't think Drampa or Altaria or Dragonite are carnivorous. They are so gentle. |
If Kyurem is carnivorous (and isn't into people), it probably eats other Pokemon then. Kind of the only other option. Some Dex entries mention Pokemon eating other Pokemon anyway.
But who knows if it really is carnivorous or not. Could certainly be any of the other options you mentioned too |
Idk I just imagine Kyurem to eat Deerling/Sawsbuck for breakfast if it is carnivorous (which I'd probably imagine due to its design).
|
Now this has my attention. I've adored dragons since I was small. I'd love to join. And Zekrom is my choice.

I think to think that perhaps the rumours regarding Kyurem’s flesh-eating habits are incorrect. I think that the dragon is herbivorous and perhaps eats plant life that grows within Giant Chasm.
Another theory is that he eats stones or rocks, or icicles to keep his body temperature low while simultaneously strengthening his ice-type powers. |
Tis an Honor. Thank you.

https://i.postimg.cc/Hks7Pn59/Ancient-Book-of-Giants.jpg A Dragon's Tale Welcome Dragon worshippers to this month's instalment of A Dragon's Tale! Sorry the November edition is a little late. These real legendary dragons take time for me to research, so leave a thumbs up if you wish me to keep going with stories of great dragons. Last month we travelled to east Asia to visit Benzai-ten the Dragon Queen. This month our journey leads to the continent of Australia to meet the life-giver Rainbow Serpent. The worship of Rainbow Serpent is one of the oldest continuing religions in the world, with aboriginal cave paintings of this deity appearing at the Arnhem Land rock 6000-8000 years ago after the Ice Age. https://i.postimg.cc/0ykHkM4G/rainbow-serpent1-2.jpg Rainbow Serpent is depicted with a long serpentine body. The rainbow in the sky is said to be it's magically-colored form travelling the land, hopping from one waterhole to the next! Like many dragons Rainbow Serpent has attributes resembling other animals. It's tail looks like a crocodile's, and it's head has been called a kangaroo head. Rainbow Serpent has been described as female, as well as male and as an intersex deity able to impregnate itself. It was the supreme creator deity to Austrailia's ancient aborigines. According to the traditions it gave birth to all species of animals. https://i.postimg.cc/N0Lj1sNh/Don-Rainbow-Serpent-Long-Necked-Turtle.jpg According to the drawings, ritual dances and songs passed down by the ancient people the world as we know it began in the Dreamtime when ancestral spirits came into existence. Before this there was only darkness and silence, and the earth was an empty plane, barren of people, plants and animals. There was no water, it was merely flat wasteland, until supernatural beings broke through the crust of the earth. The most powerful of these creatures was Rainbow Serpent who awoke from slumber underneath the earth in search of what had become of his/her friends, hoping to meet more of it's own kind, and form a tribe. https://i.postimg.cc/NjYmtHdg/60-2.jpg Rainbow Serpent crossed the landmass, slithering from north to south, east and west, listening desperately to the wind for any sign of life. As it moved it's long, draconic form it left impressions in the ground that formed gorges. It also thrust it's body upward and accidentally created mountains and caves and burrowed through the ground, leaving tunnels behind. After circling the land Rainbow Serpent collapsed in the sand from exhaustion. When it awakened still alone it decided to take it upon itself to fill up the lonely world it had inherited. https://i.postimg.cc/NM98PwjS/90017.jpg Rainbow Serpent used it's magnificent powers of creation to summon frogs, and tickled their little bellies until they spat out water into the chasms, forming the lakes and lagoons we see in the world today, and rivers and streams from the path it's winding tail had had made. As the water flowed everywhere the barren earth sprouted trees, grass, flowers and fruits until the land was covered in as many beautiful and different colors as the serpent itself. https://i.postimg.cc/tgzNVzmv/rainbow-serpent-darlene-devery.jpg Rainbow Serpent brought other animals into existence after the frogs. They all lived together in harmomy by drinking Rainbow Serpent's waters and eatting the vegetation and bounty of the land. Birds and insects received dominion over the air, fish filled the seas and wombats made homes in the forest. The Serpent governed the land, and rewarded animals that followed it's rule of law by transforming them into humans. Rainbow Serpent also taught people how to dance and clothe themselves. Humans tried to mimic the sinuous patterns the snake moved in, and dress in it's bold colors. https://i.postimg.cc/NjbNnspN/serpent-eddie-blitner-2.jpg Rainbow Serpent is generally considered a wise and good deity. It can heal others, circulate the flow of blood, and usher in a human being's transition from childhood to adulthood by swallowing people whole to incubate, then releasing them to be reborn anew. In the Kimberley regions it is said that Rainbow Serpent helps women become pregnant by hiding spirit-children away in waterholes. Wading through a pool of water blessed by Rainbow Serpent is thought to help couples find and conceive their child. https://i.postimg.cc/CM224xzS/rainbow-serpent.jpg Rainbow Serpent brings rain to sustain the earth and is a peacemaker that holds the balance of this world together. However, Rainbow Serpent cannot be crossed with impunity. It's justice is stern, and it can vanquish it's enemies by turning them to stone it's emphatic gaze. While usually fair, if it or it's laws have been disrespect it can send storms and floods, or withold it's water altogether to cause drought. Natural disasters can be interpreted not just as punishment however, but as a means to encourage humankind to work together, and share their resources and cooperate in order to survive, testing our maturity and capacity to love eachther. When waterholes do not dry even in times of drought it is an omen of Rainbow Serpent's presence. A symbol of Rainbow Serpent is a prismatic halo around the moon that resembles the rainbow. Pieces of quartz are used in rituals to invoke Rainbow Serpent because of the color and light. https://i.postimg.cc/pX1QfTCx/14213-2.jpg |
I think this is a very underrated poketuber. I look forward to Ovi's theory, he has some interesting thoughts to share about why Kyurem can only fuse with Reshiram or Zekrom, not both, and just go back to being the original dragon.
If they remake the Unova games one day would you like to see this concept explored, and a new dragon? |
So, I had a question for members? Do you have any dragon memorabilia?
I have a little here and there. On Black Friday I bought this cute little Dratini plush from the Pokemon center to keep my Dragonite company. It's very well made. https://i.postimg.cc/63KZhxSh/IMG-3652.jpg I also have an Nendoroid of N with his Reshiram--this set was a present from my mom last Christmas. My favorite T-shirt to wear is has the three-headed red dragon sigil representing House Targaryen from Game of Thrones, accompanied by their house words, "Fire and Blood." My lap top carrying case also has an blue eastern imperial dragon design on the front and back. |
I got plushies of Salamence and Garchomp, a figure of a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon along with a couple of dragon Pokemon figurines.
I plan to expand on it with a Stardust Dragon figure whenever it releases for sale. |
I don't have any dragon merch, but that Dratini is cute

I adore these!!! Hey, I love big pictures anyway, and in this case the better to see all the draconic majesty. Awww, I'm glad you kept Tyranitar in the picture actually because he's really cute, and I'd like to get one. He's a pseudo dragon anyway like Gyarados or Salazzles so he looks good next to Garchomp and Salamence. I like the whole collection. Everything looks like a good size and well-made. Also I see TCG! |

The dragon pokemon for the month of December is Mega Sceptile! This is my first-time highlighting a pokemon's mega-evolution specifically, but since Sceptile is a pure grass type in his base form and only gains a dragon when it mega evolves I decided to make this Pokemon an exception. The reason I picked mega Sceptile is because it's the holiday season, and it's flamboyant tail is notorious for being compared with a Christmas tree.
https://i.postimg.cc/FK41cYPs/sceptile-2.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/VsM7w40S/sceptile-mega.jpg Have you ever used a Mega Sceptile before? If so how do you like this mon? Yes, and I absolutely adore it! It's actually my favorite mega evolution, and not having mega-evolution in gen 8 saddens me because I loved my Mega Sceptile Draco paired with Gyarados. I think their abilities made them interesting dancing partners. Wirh Gyarados' intimidate up my Sceptile has been able to survive a physical hit, and Gyarados especially appreciates having that beautiful lightning rod of Sceptile's on the field. Where does Sceptile rank among the Hoenn Starters in your opinion? Is it the best of the 3, in the middle or is it last? Sceptile happens to be my favorite of the Hoenn starters, which is saying something because. All of them are cute in the first stage, but Sceptile has my favorite design in the final stage + it's mega. Throughout it's evolutionary line I think it has a lot of personality that shines throuh, a sleek, blase look. I also love this pokemon for it's speed. There's little I can't outrun. It's actually my favorite starter out of all generations as of now. Any memorable Sceptile moments in the anime? I love Sawyer's Mega Sceptile thoughout the Lumiose Conference. As for regular Sceptile Ash's was pretty cool versus Tobias's Darkrai. https://i.postimg.cc/qR97JgCT/sceptile.gif |
Happy New Year Clubhouse fans,
I had a question for my dragon tamers now that we have heard word of 200 pokemon coming to Sword and Shield. Is there a dragon that you previously missed from an older gen that you will be able to have access to in gen 8 now. Alas, still no sign of my favorite dragonite yet. I hope he makes it. |
I would say Zekrom but I already knew that it was going to make it back in since about 30 Pokémon had been datamined shortly before release, so besides that we’re getting Garchomp back which I like
RIP my fab shiny/pink mega Garchomp tho since Megas aren’t a thing in SwSh |
I have a mini Dragonite plushie that I purchased from a street vendor a few years ago! I don’t collect plushies by any means, but she was just so cute I couldn’t pass her up!
Now, I must say that I absolutely adore Sceptile. I think it’s regular form and it’s mega both have such alluring designs. I possessed a mega Sceptile in Omega Ruby and she was incredibly overpowered. Sceptile is such a lovely Pokémon to use, it has great stats and when it mega-evolves it mercilessly annihilates even the strongest of opponents! In terms of ranking, I’d say Sceptile is my 2nd favourite Hoenn starter, just ever so slightly behind Blaziken. Overall, I’d say that Sceptile is in my top 5 favourite starters indefinitely! I also adore its pre-evolution, Grovyle, as well. I love its role in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon especially. My favourite moment of Sceptile in the anime is when Ash and May had a contest battle that ended up being Sceptile vs. Blaziken. That has to be one of the most intense battles in the Pokémon anime. (This was AG191: “One More With Reeling” I believe.) |
Today is Appreciate a Dragon Day!
Spoiler: my dragon merch dump (images may be big and apologizes some are sideways)
Spoiler: sceptile
As for returning Pokemon, I'm glad Garchomp's coming back and I'm hoping Naganadel can make it too. |
I have ADORED hearing thoughts about different pokemon from everyone and seeing all this brilliant dragon merchandise. I'm in good company! This club makes me smile!
I am experimenting with a new series this year for Dragon Ascent called, "The Real-Life Dragons." It's a nature series that presents different animals from our planet that are as close as it gets to genuine dragons. For our first installment I would like you guys to meet Draco! A draco is a striking little lizard colored like the leaves in the beautiful Southeast Asian rainforests where it resides. Draco can be found in the Phillipines, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Vietnam just to name a few of his cool scenes. It's a shy critter that mostly stays safe chilling in the top of a coconut tree, munching in insects-- their primary food source. The females only come down to the ground below to lay their eggs. https://i.postimg.cc/50dm5kjP/KRB-Berjalan-20180525-288.jpg The Draco lizard has skin flaps on it's chest and throat that can extend to look like wings. These flaps are used for display purposes, and fully functional. When a draco unfolds these flappings it can use them to glide through the air like it's on a hang-glider. It can go hundreds of feet in just a single leap. So cool! https://i.postimg.cc/y8XWGgbV/PRfor-Web-CIMG2441.jpg Draco is the Latin word for Dragon, and because of this amazing creature's ability to glide long distances it's been nicknamed the flying dragon. See it take flight here! There are 42 known species of Draco. I think this Draco Volans looks like it's wearing the wings of a monarch butterfly as the sun shines down on it! So gorgeous! https://i.postimg.cc/fb2SLJzM/draco-extended588.jpg Check out this Draco Dussumieri camouflaged perfectly into the bark of this tree. Can you spot him? Who knew there was a the real Kecleon? I swear it's there! https://i.postimg.cc/cHb21Mt0/2005-Draco-dussumieri.jpg Would you like to see more installments like this? Let me know! |
I have thought about which dragon Pokemon should represent the month of January for some time now. To arrive at this decision I asked myself 'What is January about?' Well, It's the beginning of a new year for one. I think it makes sense at the dawn of a new beginning to circle back to the place where things all began.
https://i.postimg.cc/26GNDS9b/index-13.jpg This month I would like to highlight the Dratini evolutionary line, the first dragon type Pokemon to burst forth out of the imagination of Satoshi Taijiri. This line of pokemon was once the one and only of it's typing. Since Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite all share the dragon typing I thought we could look at all 3 brothers in the spotlight this time, instead of picking 1. So what are your thoughts on Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite? I am head-over-heels in love with this entire line of Pokemon. I like each of the three in their own way. Dratini is truly a precious creature with those big sad, innocent eyes. I see it and want to protect it like a baby seal or another vulnerable species since Dratini's supposed to be on the verge of extinction. Dragonair is a convincing evolution for Dratini. It's a matured design, elongated with feathery wings in place of the earfins that make it seem more like an angel. The gemstones on it's neck and tail are lovely too. What's not to like? It could be Milotic's distant cousin. My favorite is Dragonite though. His cheerful smile and simple, round shape just make me feel magic when I see him like Snorlax or Jigglypuff. While Dratini I want to protect, I see this Pokemon and know it's going to protect me. Are there any moments in the anime or manga that stood out to you featuring Dratini, Dragonair or Dragonite? Tons! Some of my favorites include Ash's epic battle with Drake's Dragonite during the Orange League, and Red's Viridian Forest encounter with Dratini in Pokemon Adventures, I love how this meeting inspires Yellow. https://i.postimg.cc/wTgPzVYm/Pokemon-Go-Where-to-Find-Dratini-Dragonite.jpg Ever trained a Dragonite? If so, then how did you like it as your teammate? Yes, since I first began playing Pokemon with a copy of Pokemon yellow back in the day I have always caught Dratini and Dragonair whenever they are in the game, or transferred them over post game. I have raised quite a few Dragonites experimenting with different sets and natures. I love having this Pokemon on my team. I love how broad it's move pool is, and have had lots of fun turning them against my friends or just using them in game. I especially appreciate Dragonite getting multiscale in gen 5. https://i.postimg.cc/FztM056W/dragonair.jpg Have you ever had difficulties battling these Pokemon like facing Claire's Dragonairs or Lance's Dragonites? Lance is the cousin I have trouble with, he is a complete monster as champion in the Johto games, particularly those 3 Dragonites and trying to figure out which one is carrying which moves. The outrages and hyper beams always hit like a truck. I think he's worse than Cynthia's Garchomp. Where does the dratini line rank for you among the other psuedolegendary dragon evolutionary lines like bagon, gible, deino, goomy, jangmo-o and dreepy? Towards the top? The bottom? Around the middle? https://i.postimg.cc/C5kV2LDp/dratini.jpg |
Ah, Dracos! I just love them and from my interpretation, Inteleon can be based of one because of its cape. It's so neat to see it use its own skin as wings. I would love to see more real life dragons showcased because I just love reptiles!
So what are your thoughts on Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite? To me, I think they are alright but I'm not the biggest Dragonite fan just because I think it's too cutesy for my tastes. Ever trained a Dragonite? If so, then how did you like it as your teammate? I do recall using it a few times and I do even have a handful of Dragonites in Rare Balls (Love and Friend and I'm planning on Safari). It was quite the powerhouse to use with a solid movepool and I agree Multiscale helped it a lot. Have you ever had difficulties battling these Pokemon like facing Claire's Dragonairs or Lance's Dragonites? I don't recall having troubles with them (just because Gatr with Ice Punch/Beam, don't remember, is solid against them) but I did remember having more trouble with Claire's Kingdra. Where does the Dratini line rank for you among the other pseudo-legendary dragon evolutionary lines like Bagon, Gible, Deino, Goomy, Jangmo-o, and Dreepy? Towards the top? The bottom? Around the middle? Easily the bottom as the majority of the pseudo-legends are my favourites (Hydreigon, Dragapult, and Kommo-o are in my top 10 and Garchomp is in my top 20). |
Come by the fireside fellow dragon tamers
I have a question to share in the dragon's den with you all. Are there any upcoming movies, games or novels etc that you look are looking forward to? I am interested in Raya and the Last Dragon coming to theaters this fall. Not a lot of detail has been released about this movie, but I like the concept art I have seen for Sisu, a water dragon with a human form. Would do you guys think of this one? I also want to hear some about Dragon Rider, which is based on a German novel. I know that one of the voice actors is my man Patrick Stewart, and this one includes in it's storyline two of my favorite mythological creatures-- dragons and fairies. Chime in with any television shows, books, movies, comics, games etc you have your eye on in 2020 that will feature dragons! |
February is the month of love and gaeity with sweet romantic holidays like Valentine's Day and Dragobete. So I wanted to choose a dragon pokemon that would capture the spirit of joy and wonder this month! I think Altaria is a good choice! February is a time that has many important days of spiritual awakening like Candlemas and the start of Lent for Christians and Nirvana Day for Buddhists. So I chose a pokemon to close out the month that looks like an angel. Altaria is always up in the clouds, smiling and singing a heavenly song.
https://i.postimg.cc/q7QYDCHg/altaria.jpg Do you like Altaria? Have you ever used an Altaria or mega Altaria before? I actually have little experience of Altaria, and have never used mega Altaria. That will make hearing the experiences of other trainers even more interesting and fun since I have never fully taken advantage of this little guy myself! I did catch a Swablu in Emerald and thought it was cute, and when I discovered it evolved into a dragon Pokemon and saw it's design as Altaria I made sure to at least evolve it! It reminds me a little of Tweety Bird from the neck up, especially the yellow shiny. I ended up boxing it because I didn't have the patience to explore it's utility options and was more accustomed to using dragons for that raw power like Dragonite, rather than defensively and turned my attention to Salamence. But I know there's a lot more to Altaria than meets the eye. Like Gardevoir more of it's potential was unlocked in gen 6 with a more diverse movepool and a dramatic mega evolution that buffed it's stats, added fairy typing + the ability pixelate. So someone here has probably made their Altaria a star just like Winona did! https://i.postimg.cc/sf9bL8Pv/altaria-mega.jpg Did you remember Lisia from Oras and her Altaria? Did you ever compete against them? Yes!! I love contests, and like this character of Wallace's niece. She's like the mentor that Diantha should have been to the player, and this contest star and her Altaria were really a formidable duo, especially if you didn't have a mega-evolution of your own for that extra boost. I beat her with a shiny Milotic, and it was important to me that I win the contest with that particular pokemon. I wanted her to get the special ribbon that appears over the pokeball when you become master rank in every category. When Lisia was unlocked as a challenger I already had gotten a ribbon on my Milotic for every category except cleverness. I was lucky there because this the category that I was required to face her in happened to be one of Altaria's weaker ones. While this is a category that I didn't find that easy to come up with a good Milotic set for either, I preferred facing Altaria in Cleverness than one where Altaria has a lot of good moves. There's not a ton of room for error in any of the categories by this level, but in some of the contests like Beauty I found Altaria just an impossible nightmare to get pass. I really was proud when my Milotic became champion, and it was nice getting those inspirational speeches from Lisia with Altaria in toe-- they are a likeable pair so like Steven Stone I have mixed feelings about finally defeating them, and have to admit even though we were on opposing sides it was cool seeing Altaria perform some of those combos and special moves! https://i.postimg.cc/L5NmNPW4/Altaria-BW.gif |
Do you like Altaria? Have you ever used an Altaria or mega Altaria before?
I do adore Altaria, It's such a majestic pokemon! I used a Mega Altaria in-game in my run of Alpha Sapphire. It is an incredibly strong pokemon and absolutely detonated my foes. I also captured a Swablu in Platinum and evolved it into an Altaria quite recently, actually. It's a pokemon that I've utilized in multiple generations and it is a pokemon that I hope to use in the future. https://66.media.tumblr.com/2229bd8528efb07f36df99f315f2b95a/tumblr_mvz6glcyK61rc2uczo9_250.gif Did you remember Lisia from Oras and her Altaria? Did you ever compete against them? Lisia is nearly impossible to forget! She's one of the most eccentric and interesting characters in ORAS and perhaps one of the most dynamic characters presented to us thus far. I adore her bubbly personality, and her sheer cockiness and boastfulness is intoxicating. She is a multi-faceted character, which I enjoy. Furthermore, she makes for a much more intriguing rival than say Brendan/May or Wally. she reminds me of Ursula from the Diamond and Pearl series, as they have similar personalities and both possess overbearing egos. I have faced off-against Lisia, being a contest fanatic. In short, she was decimated by my pokemon's pure beauty and sophistication! (I actually believe I used a Milotic in competition against her.) |
Mega Altaria is fun to use since it has some flexibility in how you can run it, and Dragon/Fairy is a cool typing
which this reminds me since I have one in my party that I gotta finish that Black 2 run sometime lol |
altaria doesnt really look like a dragon to me,can't say I never used tho, cause once my sister caught a shiny Swablu and traded to me(love u sis),and also it's very powerful ingame I believe and that Dragon/FAIRY is a pretty awesome combo. But still when I look at him I mostly see a bird rather than a dragon.Maybe its' because it was introduced with 2 awesome other pokemons that perfecty represent the dragon(flygon and salamence)Maybe if it was introduced in gen 2 where the only dragon I can recall being introduced was Kingdra than I'd probably have another opinion
|
Do you like Altaria? Have you ever used an Altaria or mega Altaria before?
There are so many Pokemon I have neutral feelings towards and Altaria fits that mold. It's cute and fluffy, sure, but I can't seem to like it enough to be in the list of Pokemon I like but I do not dislike it either just because it has a nice enough design. Mega Alt for sure in a few battles and I might have used one earlier during my XD days? I don't recall but I do remember Altaria was a Shadow Pokemon used by Lovrina iirc. Did you remember Lisia from ORAS and her Altaria? Did you ever compete against them? Took me a while to think of who she was but I do remember them. Never competed against them because I rarely dabbled in contests. |
I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in maybe a dragon pokemon trade? I floated something like this before, but thought we might re-visit it now. I was thinking I could give away a nice shiny dragon, or maybe we could play a game or take part in a contest or challenge with the pokemon as the prize.
Since Altaria seems to be appealing to many members maybe I could feature a shiny Altaria or Swablu? This is just the first idea to pop into my head though, and I would be happy to discuss some other mons. It doesn't have to be this one, just tossing out ideas. |
In SwSh, there is a way to always encounter shiny Pokemon in Raids so if possible, spawning a shiny Dragon-type for us to obtain through raids would be nice! I haven't done this myself but I was in many of those raids but I believe it involves RNG manipulation with advancing dates/times, putting the Switch to Airplane Mode, etc. So perhaps stuff like Kommo-o line, Hydreigon line, Goodra line, Haxorus line, etc.

DRAGON CLUB DRAGON CLUB
A ****ty Three Houses meme I made, complete with imgflip watermark! Spoiler:
I also have a shiny Swablu and/or Gible I can donate from my shop! It's from an older gen and cloned though, so it's not exactly unique but I can rename it to whatever the winner would like. |
Nice! This is becoming a treasure worthy of dragons that we're going to make an event out of. Depending on what game your using I can also add some hidden ability dragons like adaptability Dragalge and multiscale Dratini.

Do you like Altaria? Have you ever used an Altaria or mega Altaria before?
Never really understood why Altaria was a Dragon type but that's just my personal opinion. Never used it in any game. Did you remember Lisia from ORAS and her Altaria? Did you ever compete against them? I legit had to look up who that is and I still can't figure out who she is. |
The Dragon's Share Hello Dragon tamers, we have a very special event for our members, our first dragon Pokemon giveaway. It's time for The Dragon's Share! https://i.postimg.cc/h49mtWv1/tenor.gif Us dragons have a reputation as fierce creatures who horde treasure. While I wouldn't deny this entirely, ultimately we are giving and noble class. Think of Dragonite who flies over the seas to rescue the drowning, or Drampa who plays with children and defends them from bullies, Zygarde's devotion to protecting and sustaining the ecosystem or Reshiram and Zekrom who assist heroes to build worlds of truth or ideals. This week is a time for sharing the legendary bounty of dragons with the many courageous dragon tamers who have frequented these halls. Six strong shiny dragon/dragonlike Pokemon are hiding in the spoiler tags. Members of Dragon Ascent may request any one of them, we will have sufficient quantities of all six, so take your pick. This event is co-sponsored by our honorary dragon Firebolt. He has generously supplied half of the shinies, and I have matched the other half. We are happy to offer the following to Dragon Ascent members. Spoiler:

Who is bold enough to claim their dragon's share? If you have not previously made a post in Dragon Ascent, but wish to join the club, then you may do so at any time and will be eligible to request one of the shiny dragons if the event interests you. However, you must answer the questions specified at sign up, undergo the trial by fire and pick either Reshiram or Zekrom as your club guide like everybody else. We expect you to participate. This is club for people who love dragons, if that is you then you have come to the right place. |
A lot of these are tempting!
If it's one at a time I would take the Charmander! |

This is lovely, I'll take the Trapinch, Flygon is a Dragon I haven't used in a while and Shiny Flygon looks amazing.
He'll make a fine addition to my Dragon collection c: Pretty much has to be on Sun and Moon considering I don't have the newest games. |

We can trade to Sun and Moon, no problem. You can send me a pm with your friend code, or post it here if you prefer. |
