Paul's Sketches 0o;;
I took pics of my sketches [no scanner ;;] but they turned out pretty well ^^
Here are my pics: http://paulhq.com/PC/cadric.JPG http://paulhq.com/PC/delibird.JPG http://paulhq.com/PC/victreebel.JPG http://paulhq.com/PC/magcargo.JPG http://paulhq.com/PC/manetric.JPG Yes...half of them aren't colored...and I don't shade XD I'm not an artist :P These are just random doodles I did at different times. The first one is something based off of a game ad XD The rest are just pokemon's normal poses. + a decapitated manetric head XD How can I improve? 0-0; |
great pictures paul!!
i just suggest that you try and lighten the up a bit with your photo-program also, when you colour, don't lay dont colour so sparcely. make sure to cover every area to make it look more professional. i also suggest going over the pictures in a black fine-tipped marker for a good effect before colouring it :3 i hope you take my tips into consideration :3 thanks for listening keep up the great work, paul!! ~kura |
Ya 0o;;
I didn't really do a good job of coloring them XD I think I'll go over some in pen, then color them on the computer >>: Might look better. |
that sounds like a good idea
what type of program do you have on your computer? a good idea would be using a 'highlight/middtone/shadow' tool to lighten the background, and darken the drawing lines. then you could either set the base layer to 'multiply' make a layer underneith it, and colour under those lines.. OR.. you can just use the select tool, to select around the parts that you want to colour and colour within them. this ensures that when you're colouring your lineart, the colour doesnt bleed over the lines (so the lines dont look all squiggly) oh.. and im sorry for explaining all of this if you dont have a program with these capabilities (like photoshop) but, im very sure that even the program that might come with your digital camera should have a 'highlight/middtone/shadow' tool or something similar to it. i think my favourite is the macargo :3 i really like the detail on the shell!! @@, i think i'd really like to see that one coloured :3 anyways, keep up the great work!! ~kura |
Ok. I tried your idea 0o;; not sure how it came out though...
>>: Just got the sketch pad outside it into white, and redid ALL the lines with Paint's curvy line too =S I'll color it later >.<; |
o_o.. so.. you mean all the space outside the picture is white.. and not the inside?
._. thats weird.. what program are you using? another good idea would be to make a new layer and do the lines over it on there.. so you can just delete the old layer and have a fresh new picture with clean lineart :3 but, if you dont have that, then i guess your solution would be best :3 i'd really like to see it coloured!! :3 ~kura |
Not. I puposely made all the outside white XD It's not because of your instructions.
I use PhotoFiltre. A very little known image editor that rox XD The Highlight/shadow didn't seem to do anything though 0-0; Anyway, you can see what I did so far: http://paulhq.com/PC/magcargo2.bmp |
Very good for someone who's not an artist. At least you can DRAW Delibird. Me, on the other hand... >_>;
|
wow :3 really great work!! i'd love to see it when it's all finished up :3
and a good idea, is that after you finish the whole thing, make the file size smaller so the lineart doesnt look choppy :3 i can't wait to see it when it's done!! ~kura |
Pretty sckeches! I hate to color pics beause I'm afraid I'll ruin them..:P
|
I can't shade XD
;-; Not sure how to progress from the gray >>; |
I like your sketches. They are very good even if some aren't colored because I do sketches too and I hate coloring them >.<; XD

I don't like coloring either XD
Can't find a good coloring tool. Don't like colored pencils, or markers >.<; [NOT crayons either XD] |
._. what about the select tool?
leave it on "select colour" so you have the colour that you want to select with it on the right side ._. so when you click on your picture, a selection only goes around all the grey parts so the colour doesnt leak into the lineart... what program are you using to colour it? look at the official picture and try to find where all the shading goes.. it'll help you know where to place the darker colours and lighter colours ._. you can search sites for colouring help (for example, if you have photoshop, you can go on their website for ideas on how to colour) ._. even asking people is a good idea ~kura |
I use PhotoFiltre.
...doesn't look like it has that tool. Does Paint do it? >>; |
paint does have a select tool ._. but it's a manual one.. and i think it's only for cropping images.. but you can try it..
i've never heard of photofiltre.. but you can try to look on their website for tips and things like that to help you colour your pictures :3 ~kura |
PhotoFiltre is a little known free imaging program. Very nice =3
Is there any free programs that have a nicer select tool though? >>; |
umm.. i know you can download a free trial of Paint Shop Pro 9 on the Jasc website..
but it only lasts for 30 days ._. i think you can just keep making another account and keep downloading the free trials.. but it becomes a hassle.. ._. you can get it for the 30 days just to try it out.. and maybe ask around ._. some of your friends might have a photoshop disk that came with their computer.. so you can just ask to borrow it and install it on your computer and give it back to them.. otherwise i dont really know where else to get one.. sorry ._. |
You like that ._. smiley don't you? XD
I guess I'll just download the free trial ^^; |
yeah i do :3
and thats sounds good :3 i know you can download the programs off of Kazaa ._. but i dont know how because i dont have Kazaa... i also think Photoshop has a free trial.. or you can go to the library to rent out a disk or something.. *shrugs* whatever works best for you :3 |
My library still uses that old method of indexing :P
*runs off to find free trial* Anyone know how good the GIMP is? |
>>bump<<
Did I just double post...oh my...:P |
GIMP? It's not too bad, but it takes getting used to. I use Paint, Paintshop Pro 7, and Photoshop 7, and I've used Pixia, Paint.NET, and GIMP. Out of those, GIMP rates 4th.
