Nintendo Revolution!

Yay! It's supposed to come out in 06 but is that for only Japan? There are also some things about a touch screen and whatnot. Also, there's no news about Pokemon in it... :surprised

Rukia June 26th, 2005 12:28 PM

Well, i vote maybe cause the only thing i know is that it can play all nintendo console games. BUT, i don't know the quality yet and the price.

TRIFORCE89 June 26th, 2005 1:29 PM

The controller will NOT be a touch screen device similar to the DS.

If memory serves, I think I read that it'll be released in North America first like they did with the DS.

As for Pokemon, I'm sure they have something in the works. And I'm sure Pikachu and Pichu will still be in Smash Bros., which is set to be a launch title.

What are the "whatnots" you refer to?

Ninja June 26th, 2005 3:02 PM

I might get it. It interests me a lot.

Arcanine June 26th, 2005 3:07 PM

I get the feeling that Nintendo will try to shoot for around the same date in the US and Japan (they might go for the US a tad before Japan like Triffy said, but it's going to be close).
Nintendo hasn't said anything about a Pokemon game yet. But Pokemon is Nintendo's second highest money making thing out there (right after Mairo games). So I'm sure a Pokemon game will be announced soon.

Yes I'm going to get a Rev, I'm going to get one the day it comes out.

Kratos June 26th, 2005 3:11 PM

I'm thinking of maybe getting the Nintendo Revolution. Because it is going to be cheaper than xbox 360 and ps3 game wise. Since xbox360 and ps3 games are going to be about $70 each. But I do like xbox better, so I'm not quite sure yet. All I know is I will get one of them.

Chibi-chan June 26th, 2005 3:27 PM

hmm, i heard it would be really sensitive though...and also that you might have to DOWNLOAD old games....it should be interesting

You will have to download old games. It will me Wi-Fi so if you got DSL wireless internet you will be able to download games and play games online.
You will also have to pay for the games you download. They will most likely be saved to a Flash Memory Card.

husk1442 June 27th, 2005 10:38 AM

you can download older games for free if you still have the serial number

Allstories June 27th, 2005 12:22 PM

I just hope Nintendo doesn't rely too much on the whole being able to play old games thing. A lot of people probably aren't going to want to pay for NES/SNES games when the PSP can play them for free. :\

Ninja June 27th, 2005 3:53 PM

So theres no ethernet port on the back of a Revolution? WiFi only? that sucks.

TRIFORCE89 June 27th, 2005 3:55 PM

In Nintendo's odd way of "maybe telling" facts, they might enhance the old games, aside from the frame rate I mean. I'm thinking more games will be getting the Super Mario All-Stars treatment *imagines OoT with TP's graphics*.

"you can download older games for free if you still have the serial number" Where did you hear that husk1442? That'd be great though, I still have all my old N64 boxes (I'll kidnap my uncle's GoldenEye box).

I hope the serial numbers are on the games...I only collected the booklets ._.;; Ya, Super Smash Bros is supposed to be online multiplayer but I think it will be of the old N64 game when they said 'reviving the old games' it would be better if it had an internet port though...

Allstories June 27th, 2005 4:26 PM

I don't think Nintendo is going to let you play games by merely having the serial number. Sounds like it would be too easy to spread around.

Arcanine June 27th, 2005 4:40 PM

Allstories has a point. I mean there are message baords and stuff all over the world. Everyone would be "Ok I'll give you my old serial numbers if you give me mine".

Chibi-chan June 27th, 2005 4:45 PM

Ya...maybe it is too easy....but Im not paying money to buy a remake of a game I already own that cost me like $20-30 back then (now they're like 10) ._. unless its really good.

Also the controler rumours sound so freaky! X| 3-D wat?

Allstories June 27th, 2005 4:58 PM

Has anyone checked out Nintendoon.com? It's fake, naturally, but it totally looks like a real advertisement. It's by the same guy who did the Mario Universe video last year.

*drool* I wish it was real...you know that we're living in what Astroboy and the Jetsons took place in...god we're slow!

pokejungle June 28th, 2005 11:13 AM

I voted yes ^^

Nintendo's consoles always win me over XD

Breakout June 29th, 2005 7:35 AM

I will buy it, after I get a Xbox 360 and PS3.

Zero ex June 29th, 2005 8:10 AM

I will buy it, a super smash brother online is a dream coming truth.

Chibi-chan June 29th, 2005 8:13 AM

Same here ^___^ but will it be the old one or melee? I hope it's the old one with new characters. It was easier :3

Are the serial numbers different on each game (of the same title, that is). If so, then maybe they could limit the system so a particular serial number only works once, like their My Nintendo PIN Number system right now.

code zerro the deluge June 30th, 2005 10:41 AM

I thought they people who make SSB left. I will but it.

No their all the same. The only serial numbers on NES, SNES and N64 games is the serial number on the barcode on the box. But I think the new GC games have different serial numbers on the back of the book of the game (on the back of the books there is a number, I don't know if that number is the same or different from game to game).
So I'm guessing the only way for the "Type in your serial number of your game here" is by going by the barcode.

pokejungle June 30th, 2005 10:57 AM

Nintendo should be happy right now!

No one has voted "No" XD

goku007 June 30th, 2005 12:36 PM

revolution is looking good now i just hope they don't mess up the controller and they rethink abiut hd.

pokejungle June 30th, 2005 12:40 PM

We can only hope that they won't make a stupid controller -.-;;

I'm rather nervous honestly >>;

code zerro the deluge June 30th, 2005 2:03 PM

i saw it was bulky but it might be a fake. do you think it's graphicks will be the best?

It's graphics probably won't be the best, actually, probably not even close to it's competitors.

But then again, it's not about having the most horsepower when it comes to the Revolution, it's all about waiting for features that nobody knows about at the moment. We can all speculate right now, but I won't set my hopes too high until Ninty reveals more information.

Regardless how incredible or crappy it turns out to be though, I'll probably buy it, I need a replacement for a fried Gamecube.

DragonTrainer June 30th, 2005 6:59 PM

The new pokemoin game is called Pokemon XD:Gale of Darkness =P

Umm.. that's slated for the GameCube. That has nothing to do with this thread.

Chibi-chan July 1st, 2005 4:34 AM

I'm worried about the controller too. It's supposed to be 'sensitive'. If the controller moves, the camera moves, and I'm sure at least once we've dropped a controller before...what will happen to the camera? o_o

Triaspia July 2nd, 2005 1:04 AM

the revolution looks like a large dvd case. No matter what i will be getting it. Before If I wanted to play my gc on my lounge I Would have to lug a 20kg tv (give or take) more than 20-40m (again give or take) but with the revolution I can hook it up to one of the 2 computer moniters in my lounge. the gc dis compatability means I will only need to carry one console out. Also nintendo are de-doing the classic nintendo games that you can download to be played in the revolution graphics.

on another note: everything you download is free, if its only a trial then you would pay for the program afterwards. with the gamecubes broardband you had to pay for like 30 days access, the revolution however has wi-fi out of the box which means as soon as its connected to a display you can use the wi-fi to download the games
Nintendo is still un-disided if they are going to charge or not

Iwata has said that the graphics will make us say "wow" (his words, not mine). I don't think he would say that if it wouldn't be comparable to the other two systems. I still haven't gotten the impression that they aren't going to be utilizing proper technology. All I ever got from anything they said is that the technology is not their priority. And that could mean anything. I personally take it as being technologically equal (or at least closer than what everyone is thinking at the moment. I'm going to say at least as good as the 360, because I don't believe for a second that any of the PS3 footage was realtime. If it they were something would've been playable at E3, even if behind closed doors. I take as being like the GCN tech videos at SpaceWorld 2000) and still offer their "revolution". Nintendo is a company, they know what they're doing and what has to be done. Nintendo has to offer what the others are offering, plus more. And that's common sense, and Nintendo knows that, just hopefully Nintendo does so. We don't have any tech specs, we can't pass judgement for all we know it could be best one.

EDIT: Changed "can" to "can't" in the last sentence. I hate it when a typo completely changes the meaning of a sentence.

Online will be free on the Revolution. But to download games you got to play for each game you download (the link below tells about it).

^ Well... They are considering updating the graphics. Or at least that's how I intrepret it. Maybe changing the look also means (although unlikely) giving the game a different mood. Say for instance, making a game lok darker. I doubt that though, that seems stupid. If it just simply graphical updates I don't see anything drastic happening. Maybe... NES games getting the "All-Stars" treatment and getting SuperNES graphics, and N64 games getting GCN graphics.[/font]

Allstories July 2nd, 2005 12:31 PM

They could totally do something like BS Zelda for the revolution. That'd be fun and possible.

Happy Dude July 4th, 2005 12:38 AM

Well, from mky sources the Xbox360 will be the most cash but it will own every other console ever made.

Next ps3 i hear it will be lots of cash to but pretty crap.

Oh, and the Revoulution is rumored to be better than the Ps3 and alot cheaper.

So in conclusion i will definitly get the revoulution,360 and possibly the Ps3 if i feel like it.XD

Houndour2005 July 4th, 2005 2:28 AM

new topic:
If you do get the revolution what colours(s) will you get
me-black or silver

ArKiVe July 4th, 2005 4:20 AM

I would probably say maybe because it'd probably have to come out of my own pocket and I havent got a job yet. I'm really looking forward to the new XBOX 360 though, looks awesome.

Pretty Boy Sean July 5th, 2005 1:49 AM

Yes. Super smash Bros. Online sealed the deal for me.

Triaspia July 5th, 2005 2:55 AM

ill take the lot of you on in a 2vs2 team battle. with my knoledge of skills and his skills we are un beatable (i know everything i will need to know about the game before it hits the aus shelves)

Chibi-chan July 5th, 2005 7:55 AM

I'm a Super Smash Bro Champ! :D But not a melee champ....

I think you're right, but there is one game that I think was real time was Killzone 2. It looked so good, mabye not as good as the other games but I am sure it was real gameplay.

As for the Rev, yes, I will be buying it, SSB online is the main reason.

Mario The World Champion July 6th, 2005 11:41 AM

Right now... the Nintendo Revolution has perked my interest. The only thing I'm concerned is the price and the date of when the system debuts in the U.S.

I think I'll start saving money right now.
