Which Gamecube games should a new Gamecube owner get?

Hi, people.

Since there are a ton of Nintendo fanboys and fangirl around PC... I need some help and opinions from you.

I got a new job that I'm starting on Friday. And because of this... I am 75-80% interested in buying a Nintendo Gamecube, since the thing only costs less than $100. I might as well get one now since I already got the Xbox and PlayStation 2.

So, I'm asking from all of you what good games, past hits, current hits and upcoming releases, should I get when I do decide to get my Gamecube? Or are there some of you that would suggest that I should save my money for 2006 when the Revolution debuts and buy some Gamecube games then?

Thanks in advance. ^^

Allstories July 6th, 2005 11:44 AM

Smash Bros Melee, if anything.

Rated R Superstar™ July 6th, 2005 11:45 AM

Yeah,go with SSBM,thats a great game,I didn't sleep for weeks when I first got a GC with that game....

Mario The World Champion July 6th, 2005 11:48 AM

With a majority of GC owners liking SSBM, that will be one of my first picks. I happen to own the first SSB for the N64.

Chairman Kaga July 6th, 2005 5:20 PM

Try Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker...the price is reduced now, I think, and it's incredibly fun. I see Pokemon Colosseum in the bargain bin a lot now, too. If you're hoping for Stadium 3 you'll be sorely disappointed, but it's still $20-$25 worth of fun.

Kurosaki July 6th, 2005 6:30 PM

Yeah, go with SSBM, and Wind Waker, if anything, I also recommend Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I love that game o.o

Locke Yggdrasill July 6th, 2005 6:33 PM

I certainly reccomend Tales of Symphonia. It can give a lot of playtime. two discs full of fun. Its cel-shaded, in case that puts you off before you buy it. Its an RPG,and i dont even like rpgs but i loved this one. I also reccomend Tony Hawk's underground number one, as the second one was quite a letdown. Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime two are a must have series.

Happy Dude July 6th, 2005 6:43 PM

I would get Pikmin,SSBM and the zelda pack where you get about 4 or 5 games.

Zero ex July 6th, 2005 6:56 PM

Games totally recomended:
SSBM
Tales of symphonia
Metal gear solid : The twin snakes
resident evil 4
Mario tennis

games that this year will be realeased :
The legend of zelda th twilight princess
Fire emblem path of radiance

So far that

Mario The World Champion July 6th, 2005 7:25 PM

Hey, thanks you guys. I appreciate all the input so far.

If you got more games to suggest, keep them coming. ^^

Stevo-kun July 6th, 2005 7:45 PM

Hmm, I would reccomend one that hasn't been said, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, that game is just awesome plus you get cuteness in the chaos too. Hmm lets see, what others haven't been mentioned

OMG the horror =O!!!!, no one mentioned Mario Kart Double Dash, that is an amazing game. I reccomend that too.

Stevo-Kun

Ninja July 6th, 2005 9:23 PM

Sonic 2 battle was terrible.

Get Super Monkey Ball 2. You'll love it.

ArKiVe July 6th, 2005 9:39 PM

If you already have this or already got it um sorry: Get Medal of Honor: Frontline, Ghost Recon, and maybe Mario Party 4.

Breakout July 7th, 2005 12:13 AM

you should definetly get Super Smash Bros Melee,
you should also check out Zelda Windwaker, Tales of Symphonia, Metal Gear Solid, Bomberman Generation, Pikmin...and whaetever else you like.
but stay away from Wrestle Mania it sux.

Casual Billy July 7th, 2005 6:31 AM

Billy is about to 135% agree with someone's game choices:

Quote:

I certainly reccomend Tales of Symphonia. It can give a lot of playtime. two discs full of fun.
Yes! Tales of Symphonia. Get that game first; as soon as you get your cube, don't leave the store without getting ToS. That and the Metroid Primes are the best games on the system.

Super Smash Brothers Melee is great too; it's still the best 4-player game around, IMO.

But ToS and the Metroid Primes, talk about awesomeness above all others!

Draik July 7th, 2005 8:38 AM

Depends what you like. If your a fantasy action-like person like me. I'll recommend; Tales of Symphonia, Fire Emblem: Path of Radience, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Final Fantasy, Crystal Choronacals, and a Pokemon Colloseum.

Kipkip July 7th, 2005 9:22 AM

I would recommend against getting a Gamecube. Nintendo is abandoning it right now like they do with all their systems over time. They're focusing on the DS and Revolution now. Only one really anticipated game is coming out for the Gamecube which the new Lengend of Zelda. If you are getting one, I would recommend these games:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Resident Evil 4
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Viewtiful Joe (Both Games)
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Tales of Symphonia
Metriod Prime (Both Games)

That's all I can think of.

pokejungle July 7th, 2005 9:47 AM

KipKip...Nintendo has plenty for the 'cube coming up.

Including:
-DDR Mario Mix
-FE Path of Radiance
-Twilight Princess
-Pennat Chase Baseball
-Super Mario Strikers
-Mario Baseball
-XD: Gale of Darkness
-Odama
-Battalion Wars
-Giest
-New Kirby game [Untitled]
-Chibi Robo

Not sure why'd you even say that they've given up =/ Check your facts. Just because they didn't make a huge deal about the GCN at the E3 doesn't mean it's out. That's a growing list too.

On topic: All the games poeple have posted are really good. Baten Katios is a horribly overlooked RPG, two disc. Definetly worth it.

People also say that Beyond Good and Evil was EXCELLENT and I think that ones like $20 now.

Mario The World Champion July 7th, 2005 9:57 AM

Hey, thanks you guys. This is a good amount of games that will keep me interested and busy.

However... does the Gamecube have any good racing games?

Draik July 7th, 2005 9:59 AM

If you can count Mario Kart: Double Dash.

pokejungle July 7th, 2005 10:02 AM

Need for Speed: Underground 1 and 2
Street Racing Syndicate
-Misc others that I don't know about XD

Arcanine July 7th, 2005 10:32 AM

Kipkip is right. If it was me I would wait a year and get the Revolution since it plays GC games too.

But if you have 100 bucks and you want the GC then here is games I own/played that I really like and would be good buys.

Super Smash Brothers Melee
If you buy 1 game out there, make it this game. It's my fav game of all time and it will be the one of the Rev comes out (if the one on the Rev is better, but it's hard to beat SSBM).

If you like Sonic games then try
Sonic Heroes
and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
(I myself liked Sonic Adventure 2 better then Sonic Heroes). Both fun and good games, if you're going to pick only one then go Sonic Adventure 2 because it is more fun.

If you're into Star Wars or like flying games then go with
Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike

Tt is a great game and my fav flying game out there.

Star Fox Adventures
and Star Fox Assault.
Both a little too short for my tastes but you might like them.

Mario Kart Double Dash
It's a good game, better if you got someone to play with. The two player mode in this game is great.

Tales of Symphonia
The only GC game I want to play that's out right now. An 8.8/10 rating on GameSpot, the GC's main RPG game. Lots of people say it's a great game, it's some game you should look into and think about getting.

Mario The World Champion July 7th, 2005 10:36 AM

The Revolution has perked my interest every day for sometime now. I only have concerns about the price and the release date.

pokejungle July 7th, 2005 10:45 AM

Revolution has a Q2 / Q3 relese date. So basically a year of waiting IF there's no delays =/

Super_Lawliet July 7th, 2005 10:55 AM

The Lord Of the Rings: The Third Age

It's an amazing game with the battle engie that's like the FF games.

Luigi's Mansion

If you want a few laughs

The Wind Waker

If you want a talking boat

Zoids: Battle Legends

I thought it was a good game...you might enjoy it

Ark Kuvis July 7th, 2005 11:43 AM

Get the Mario Kart Double Dash Bundle or the Super Smash Bros Bundle.
and I recamend you pick up a wireless Wavebird controler aswell.
good games to pick up:
The other one tht you don't get in the bundle (Super Smash Bros or Double Dash)
Tales of Symponia
Mario Power Tenis
Starfox Assult (might be short, but fun!)
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (You need Bongos for it to be really fun.)
Donkey Konga (If your gonna get the set of Bongo's might as well get this that comes with em')
Paper Mario 2 (Crump rox)

I've still yet to get Smash Bros.....*sigh*

Mario The World Champion July 7th, 2005 11:44 AM

Well, I'm still interested in getting a Gamecube, but I'm thinking about getting me a used one to save a few bucks.

I know a few video game places in my area that I can find a good deal.

Thine Eyes Deception July 7th, 2005 12:02 PM

If you're a Mario fan, you should get either Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Mario Power Tennis, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door or Super Mario Sunshine. If you're a Pokemon fan, you should get Pokemon Colosseum. If you're just a basic Nintendo fan, you should get Super Smash Bros. Melee. Or, if you want a title without major-league characters, you should get Animal Crossing.

Casual Billy July 7th, 2005 1:05 PM

On second thought, you should probably wait until Revo comes out. It's gonna play Gamecube games and is probably gonna be less than $300. If you really just want to spend $100, though, I guess you'd still want to go with the Cube. But, the real reason behind this post is that I have another suggestion!

Skies of Arcadia:

It's very entertaining once you get past the lacklustre graphics as the gameplay, battle styles (especially ship battles; haven't seen that anywhere else), and story are great. I just finished the game, and am now wishing that I hadn't. I was that enthralled. And it's only $20!

Robotech: Battlecry

That game is really difficult but at the same time extremely fun and addicting. Even when a mission is like impossible, you'll find yoursefl coming back over and over until you finally beat it without even getting frustrated. I loved this game so much that I went out and bought a DVD of the show (which is not really saying much as I just happened to see it at a pharmacy and decided to buy it because it was only $2.99, but that's besides the point! or is it? Whatever, this parenthetical comment has lasted way too long).

Alright, that's it.

Mario The World Champion July 7th, 2005 1:16 PM

Heck, maybe I should buy the Gamecube, then save up 450-500 bucks and wait for the Revolution to arrive.

Casual Billy July 7th, 2005 1:19 PM

It's your choice, but I say just go with Revo. That rhymed, I think it means you have to do it now.

Arcanine July 7th, 2005 3:35 PM

If you are going to get a GC then you should get a used one like you said. You'll spend a lot less on the GC, you'll be using it for like a year anyway (that's kind of a short life span on a system to buy a new one). So no need to buy a new one.
And on top of that you might have a hard time searching for GC games next year. So go with a used one and play it till the Rev comes out then you can sell the GC and make a little money off of it.

Cherrim July 7th, 2005 3:52 PM

A lot of places up here (Canada...) are selling Gamecube bundles. Since I've seen the Canadian Best Buys advertising it, I assume it can't be all that much different in the US. But anyway, the bundles here consist of a Gamecube, Tales of Symphonia, and your choice of one more "Player's Choice" game... of which there is quite a selction (namely LoZ: Wind Waker, since a lot of people recommend that). Again, I don't know if there are any deals similar in the States, but there must be somewhere. If not, then yes, I would agree that you should go for a previously owned GCN--especially if you're planning to get the Revolution.

Anyway, as for games, in my totally biased opinion, you should get Tales of Symphonia, especially if you like RPGs as the Gamecube is a system that's rather lacking in that department... so TOS is definitely a good bet for that. As others have said, Super Smash Brothers Melee is another good one... basically since it's a game pretty much anyone can get, so it's great for when people are over and it's also just a great game all around. For racing... well, I myself didn't really enjoy Mario Kart Double Dash. It was just too complicated for a racing game. Other people seemed to like it, though, so it might not be so bad. :\ Paper Mario 2 (The Thousand Year Door) is another really good game. You don't even need to have played the first one, since this one is self-sufficient and it really is a good game. ^^; Pokemon Colloseum isn't that great... so I'd only suggest it if you're a mega Pokemon fan. x_o; It's fun, but it gets redundant pretty quickly imo...

Really, I'd suggest getting your 'cube with a few staple games (read as: Super Smash Brothers) and then go out and rent a few different games, figure out what you like, and then go it from there. ^^; That way if you don't like something, you aren't stuck with it and you've still got money for other games that you like more.

Locke Yggdrasill July 7th, 2005 4:29 PM

I say if you desire a racing/ adventure game, Kirby Airride, You get adventure in city trial(kind of) and racing in the other two modes of play.

Pogiforce-14 July 7th, 2005 5:13 PM

Super Smash Bros. Melee. Every cube owner should have it.

Arcanine... I was thinking exactly what you said. I have some video game places in my area and I know where to look for a used, but good Gamecube. Heck, I was searching for a used GC on Amazon before I came here.

Also, since the good games have been out for at least a year or two, they are cheap to get as well. So, I can go to EB Games and get some of them for the price of 2 new GC games.

But about selling the GC... I think I'll hang onto it. I have a few friends in my neighborhood that WANT to play the Gamecube. So, I'll let them borrow it while I have the Revolution. XD

myles_master July 8th, 2005 11:08 AM

SSMB is a good game to get first. Especially if you have younger siblings. It's a great four player game.

Seth30 July 14th, 2005 5:11 PM

I recomend:

Animal Crossing
VERY ADDICTING

Sonic adventure 2 battle
Who cant resist chaos

Super mario sunshine
Good all around game

pokejungle July 14th, 2005 5:48 PM

Animal Crossing can get boring after awhile =/ Its fun to have some friends in your village ^0^

Seth30 July 14th, 2005 5:53 PM

I'm so glad I have 10 cousins! It never gets boring when playing against them

pokejungle July 14th, 2005 6:12 PM

XD You can only have three other people in your town oo;

I SO wish it was simoutaneous multiplayer too.

Ichiro Miyamoto July 14th, 2005 6:20 PM

3 WORDS:

RESIDENT EVIL 4

Get it. now

Seth30 July 14th, 2005 7:37 PM

I know thats why The older four of us have gamecubes and the game and memory cards

Mario The World Champion July 15th, 2005 2:32 AM

Hey, everybody. Thank you for all your suggestions. I just got a job and started working. So, I'll save up some cash now and get my new Gamecube in about 2-3 weeks.

If you have anymore suggestions... please feel free to tell me. ^^

Seth30 July 15th, 2005 8:00 AM

Dont you mean "new" because I was reading older posts and you were going to buy a used gamecube Anyways one more suggestion:

Pokemon colleseum
Good game easy yet challenging at times

RoxasOld July 15th, 2005 8:46 AM

Hmm. Here are the games that I would get:

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Super Smash Brother Melee
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Sonic Heros
The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker

And Shadow The Hedgehog, for when it comes out.

Mario The World Champion July 15th, 2005 1:12 PM

Well, when I get that used Gamecube, it will be a new system to me.

And I was also thinking about Pokemon Colleseum for my Pokemon fix. ^^

pokejungle July 15th, 2005 2:33 PM

Colosseum isn't that great =/ You might just want to get XD: Gale of Darkness on October third =D

Mario The World Champion July 16th, 2005 7:35 PM

Oh, I am planning on getting Pokemon XD: Gale Of Darkness also.

However, I have to get Pokemon Colluseum just becasue I've gotten most of the major Pokemon games.

Naito July 16th, 2005 8:23 PM

Heres a list of games i would recomend.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
An awesome gamecube game.It is extremely fun when playing multiplayer against friends, and it is still fun when playing multiplayer against CPUs.

Tales of Syphonia
Another awesome game, great story, challenging enemys, cel-shaded graphics, and over 80 hours of gameplay.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Challenging enemys, cel-shaded graphics, and over 40 hours of gameplay.

Final Fanasy: Crystal Chronicals
Great game for Final Fantasy fans, challenging enemys and bosses, yet, if you are good enough, the game can get too easy.

Mario Kart: Double Dash
A fun racing game that is like Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Super Circut, but with some new features.

NBA Street V3
A very fun game if you like basketball. With the features to create new basketball players, and teams, the game can be long and fun. There is also other features like create a court, and you can play as people not in the NBA like the Beastie Boys, and you can play as the following nintendo characters: Mario, Luigi, and Peach.

Paper Mario 2: The Thousand-Year-Door
A fun game, you don't need to play the first Paper Mario since the storyline is almost totally different from Paper Mario 1, the arena in Glitzville is fun and there are certain requrements with each arena challenge.

Upcoming GC games i would recomend:

FE Path of Radiance
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess
Shadow the Hedhodge

TRIFORCE89 July 18th, 2005 6:41 AM

Personally I wouldn't buy a GCN right now. I'd wait for the revolution since it's backwards compatible anyway. Here's a list of some of the best games for the GCN. There's 69 titles on that list so I'm sure you can narrow it down a bit yourself based on your interests.

Clouds July 18th, 2005 11:29 PM

ssbm
zelda windwaker
metroid prime2
resident evil 4
pokemon colloseum (its gotta be here :P)

thats all i can think of. hope i helped

Mario The World Champion July 20th, 2005 2:58 AM

Thanks for the list, Triforce89. I know it's a good idea to wait for the Revolution, but I'll just stick with my first plan of buying a used Gamecube. I still think it's around $60 depending where I look. And I know a few places.

I have made up my mind when I'm getting my Gamecube. There's a No Tax Day in the state where I live, meaning that if I buy something, I won't have to pay sales tax. ^^

However, that is next month, but I will buy a few games between now and then. I want to get Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine and maybe a few others.

I do thank all of you for your suggestions. ^^

Pretty Boy Sean July 20th, 2005 5:44 AM

Tales of Symphonia
Resident Evil 4
Super Smash Bros. Melee
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

MidnightScott July 20th, 2005 3:29 PM

Super Smash Bros. Melee, LOZ: Wind Waker, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Luigi's Mansion ^_^

~Scott

Insanity Mawile July 24th, 2005 5:32 PM

It's up to you, but SSBM, SMS, Metroid Prime, SA2:B, Madden NFL 200x, and NFSU2 are good choices.

Mario The World Champion July 29th, 2005 9:23 PM

Guys...

I AM GETTING THE GAMECUBE TOMORROW AFTERNOON!!

I cashed my checks I forgot to do so a couple weeks ago and I now have the money to finally get a Gamecube. Plus, I also checked out a video game place and a Gamecube costs only $60!!

So, I'm buying it tomorrow! I'll let you know how it is. XD

Wind_Guardian July 30th, 2005 11:29 PM

Get tales of symphonia. you wont regret it. But whatever u get, promise me it wont be "baten Kaitos" because that game sucks lemons.

WOW, I actually agree, but get Metroid Prime the first one. I would say its better

~TSBK~

nicoleb August 5th, 2005 3:32 PM

Well, it depends what games you're into. ^_^ I actually like RPGs more than Adventures. So I'd settle for:

First Choice: The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker: Great game. Although it has very bad graphics (like cels, giving it the nickname; "Celda"), it is still a good game. Not as big as tOoT, or MM, but it is enjoyable, and some parts are challenging. The storyline is original and interesting, and the characters, dungeons, and towns are all uniquely designed.

Second Choice: Pokemon Colosseum: Pokemon games are my second favorite type of RPGs (games like Zelda coming first). Pokemon Colosseum has a few drawbacks, but good points, too. First off, Pokemon Colosseum lacks the "C-control", the ability to move the camera around to change the angle. Although it is 3-D, it is not as free as most games. The C-control lack can be very annoying sometimes. Second, the graphics are rushed. Thanks to the "wonderful" Bill Gates's X-Box, Gamecube has to rush a lot of their games these days. When looking at the shadows (and even characters and locations), there are often glitches in their appearance. The good points of this game are that the storyline is good and deep, and the protagonist a hottie. ^^

I still enjoy a nice Adventure game sometimes, though. My first and only choice is:

Super Mario Sunshine: This game is NO WHERE near as good as its "predecessor", Super Mario 64. While it had over 15 worlds to explore, SMS only has 7 (9 if you include the final Bowsa battle, and the homing point (Delfino Plaza=Peach's Castle on SM64). And they are no where near as grandly designed as SM64, either. But to compare these games is unfair. This game was rushed (thankyou, X-Box), to keep Gamecube going. It does, however, have a good storyline. Deeper than SM64, and it has more plot. It also has amazing graphics. Although they could have done better with the shadows. (Circles, except Mario.) An annoying fact about this game is all the invisible walls and fake doors. Nothing annoys me more than them. But it is an Adventure game, so such is to be expected. If you've ever played SM64 (which most people have, and if not, some of its misses will score with the new version, Super Mario 64 DS), then just think of Super Mario Sunshine as a SM64 clone (although no where near as good).

Mario The World Champion August 5th, 2005 5:10 PM

Well, guys. I still didn't get that Gamecube. And it looks like it will take me longer to get it because I got some staffing problems at work now. ><

pokejungle August 5th, 2005 5:46 PM

That really sucks =/

GCN's rock =D I really love mine.

Pikachu Princess August 6th, 2005 3:12 PM

Tales of Symphonia-BEST GAME EVER!!! Zelos is MINE. To go to a ToS forum, just visit mizuho.zapchu.com. I am new to this site, so don't get mad at me for saying anything off topic quite yet... :nervous:

Mario The World Champion August 6th, 2005 6:59 PM

Say, I got another question.

Are those Star Wars Rouge Squadron games any good?

pokejungle August 6th, 2005 7:09 PM

I've heard the were ^^;

But I've never really played them.

Mario The World Champion August 6th, 2005 7:11 PM

Well, I'd want the opinion of a few other people first off.

Morkula August 6th, 2005 9:03 PM

I'm planning on getting a GameCube soon. I'm waiting for the SSBM bundle to come out on August 15th. It's basically a platinum Gamecube with SSBM for $99.
I'm definitely getting the LOTR games/Colosseum/the Star Wars games too. I'll probably try F-Zero GX and Super Mario Sunshine too, since I've heard they're good. And I might try Wind Waker, since I liked playing Ocarina of Time when I was little on my friend's N64.

Icy42 August 6th, 2005 9:35 PM

The Super Monkey Ball Games are my Mom's favorites. My favorites are:
~SSBM
~Dragon Ball Z Budakai (I beat Story mode!)
~Pikmin 1 & 2
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (1 of my current Favorites-Just 2 more Crystal stars to go!)
~Super Mario Sunshine
~Yugioh: The FalseBound Kingdom (I have a feeling that I have a loooooooooong way to go..)
Also, if you like Final Fantasy, you should try Evolution Worlds

ryan August 6th, 2005 9:44 PM

i dunno if you're into fighters... but capcom vs. snk 2 would be rediculously inexpensive. when i got it new it was $20. it's a great game, i spend most of my game time playing it. and viewtiful joe 1&2 are nice, inexpensive games to throw into your collection as well. (go capcom)

Mario The World Champion August 6th, 2005 9:45 PM

Has anybody here actually played the Star Wars Rogue Squadron games? I want to see if they are any good so I can buy a few of them.

it reminds me of Star Wars Battlefront. ^^

bna_li August 6th, 2005 10:10 PM

A Mario game? I think there's an NBA Street, but I dunno if you're into sports. I know it's pretty good on the XBOX, but... well... it might not be good on gamecube.

Morkula August 8th, 2005 7:10 AM

I have Rogue Squadron for N64, but I've never played the GC ones. The N64 version was awesome though. Basically you fly around in your X-Wing (or Y-Wing, or V-Wing, or... XD) and shoot stuff. It's really fun. ^^
Anybody ever played Star Wars Clone Wars? I saw that in GameStop the other day...

pokejungle August 8th, 2005 7:54 AM

I haven't o.o;

The Nintendo Power guide made it sound pretty good though ^^

Mario The World Champion August 8th, 2005 5:39 PM

I'll make sure to get the N64 Rogue Squardron Game, since I still have my N64. XD

Dawg 2005 August 8th, 2005 6:33 PM

I started out with SSBM and Wrestlemania X8.

Get SSBM if you're in to the whole party action thing.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! if you like racing with weapons
LOZ:Wind Waker if you like adventure games(I didn't like this game, but I like the rest of the series)
Soul Cailbur 2 if you like those 1 on 1 fighting games(This game kicks @$$!)
Any NFL game if you like football(duh)

I'll update later with new games if I remember. XD

SSBM is your best bet. Then you can choose whatever you want: Sunshine, MP4/5/6, NFSU, Zelda WW, MK, whatever.

I think these make great Gamecube games. :P
- Super Smash Bros Melee
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Starfox Adventures
- The Lengend of Zelda the Windwaker
- Pikmin 1 & 2
- MarioKart Double Dash
- Eternal Darkness
- Mario Power Tennis
- Soul Calibur
- Metroid Prime
- Resident Evil

Definitely SSBM, but you forgot Custom robo. :surprised The story may be a bit cheesy but it has good gameplay, I just bought it and it's awesome!!!

Mario The World Champion August 18th, 2005 6:41 PM

Well, guys... I FINALLY BOUGHT THE THING!!!

It took me long enough, but I am now the owner of a Nintendo Gamecube. I also went ahead and bought the Wavebird Controller (I love that thing) when I went ahead and got the system.

Overtime, I will buy more games.

pokejungle August 18th, 2005 6:44 PM

YAY!

Like...ZOMG! I love my wavebird! They are the absolute best controller <3

I've played the Rogue Squadron games as well as the Clone Wars, and let's just say... Rogue Squadron 2 is just wonderful. It's better than the first. Rogue Squadron 3 is total crap. It's completely rushed and glitchy. The Clone Wars is fun and pretty much the only four-player game you'll get with the Star Wars series that uses ships. Plus you get to be Jedis!

Anyways, SSBM is a MUST. No Gamecube owner should be without it. Tales of Symphonia is the best RPG for the system, and it's Real Time instead of turn-based. That makes it VERY fast paced. I've logged well over 200 hours, though you only need about 40-50 to beat the main game (there's a LOT of hidden stuff). It'll keep you entertained for quite a while, especially on Mania mode.

Well, it depends on what type of games you like.

For a good racing game, I'd recomened Mario Kart, Double Dash or Need For Speed Underground 2. They both have nice graphics. I don't own NFSU2, but I played Double Dash.

Survival Horror, Resident Evil, enough said. It's a cheap $20 for both Resident Evil One and Zero. Plus, you can get Resident Evil, Pure Evil, a double Pack for Resident Evil One and Zero for $30. As well as A demo of Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 4 would be a nice choice as well. It's graphics ook like a cutscene as in really good looking. Don't get it if you are upon the weak hearted.

RPG's would be Tales Of Symphonia. It's an excellent $20 with loads of side quests, or bonus material. It tells the story really well and the characters all have a unique set of diffrent techs. Plus, diffrent endings!

Action, Resdien... Uh, I mean, im not really well on this part. Super Smash Bros Melee is a good choice though. It is really addicting and there's loads of material.

That's about it. Don't get those cheap Movie games though, they all suck excluding Spiderman 1&2.

Chibi-chan August 22nd, 2005 7:19 PM

SSBM of course! ^o^ Then Tales of Symphonia...if you like twist-o-rama XD

Mario The World Champion August 27th, 2005 7:23 PM

Okay, guys. I have had my GB for a while now and I can tell you this...

METROID PRIME RULES!!!! That has to be one of THE BEST games I've played in years! It even holds its own against many PS2 and Xbox games I love.

Now I got to buy Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. ^^

Say, is there a Metroid Prime thread anywhere?

DarkKrystal August 28th, 2005 10:44 AM

Zelda WindWaker and Animal Crossing.

Lol, I agree. I didn't think I would enjoy Metroid Prime as much as I did. But, it's just so well done, that it's hard not to. ^^ I'm finding Dark Echoes (what? I like the Japanese name better.) to be more challenging than the original Prime. Some of the puzzles aren't as obvious this time around.

Mario The World Champion August 28th, 2005 6:27 PM

Dark Echoes is the Japanese name for the 2nd Metroid Prime Game, right?

Anyway, I ordered Metroid Prime 2 from Amazon. XD

Metaforte August 31st, 2005 5:36 PM

Ohhh! You got Metroid Prime! I forgot to add that. ^^;

Anyways, my little brother has MEtroid Prime 2 Echoes. The game looks soo beautiful. The envireoment, the gameplay, THE FREAKINN MULTIPLAYER! 8). The hardest boss I ever faced was the Dash ball Ing. He was a pain. Evreyone elses was fun. Although I dislike Samus' Light Suit. It looks soo...basic.

Right now, im stuck searching for the Sky Temple Keys. It's difficult. I only found I think about 3. Ive been searching for the keys so much, that I discovered alot of Missle expansions and Energy Tanks. I had like about 210 missles and full energy before I even found 3! HElp! And the guides are to confusing.

I might get Resident Evil 4 Tommorow. It is still awesome! I despise the part that it will be for the PS2 soon. "Stamps Feet"

Mario The World Champion August 31st, 2005 6:04 PM
