Personally I wouldn't buy a GCN right now. I'd wait for the revolution since it's backwards compatible anyway. Here's a list of some of the best games for the GCN. There's 69 titles on that list so I'm sure you can narrow it down a bit yourself based on your interests.

ssbm
zelda windwaker metroid prime2 resident evil 4 pokemon colloseum (its gotta be here :P) thats all i can think of. hope i helped |
Thanks for the list, Triforce89. I know it's a good idea to wait for the Revolution, but I'll just stick with my first plan of buying a used Gamecube. I still think it's around $60 depending where I look. And I know a few places.
I have made up my mind when I'm getting my Gamecube. There's a No Tax Day in the state where I live, meaning that if I buy something, I won't have to pay sales tax. ^^ However, that is next month, but I will buy a few games between now and then. I want to get Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine and maybe a few others. I do thank all of you for your suggestions. ^^ |
Tales of Symphonia
Resident Evil 4 Super Smash Bros. Melee The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker |
Super Smash Bros. Melee, LOZ: Wind Waker, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Luigi's Mansion ^_^

It's up to you, but SSBM, SMS, Metroid Prime, SA2:B, Madden NFL 200x, and NFSU2 are good choices.
|
Guys...
I AM GETTING THE GAMECUBE TOMORROW AFTERNOON!! I cashed my checks I forgot to do so a couple weeks ago and I now have the money to finally get a Gamecube. Plus, I also checked out a video game place and a Gamecube costs only $60!! So, I'm buying it tomorrow! I'll let you know how it is. XD |
Get tales of symphonia. you wont regret it. But whatever u get, promise me it wont be "baten Kaitos" because that game sucks lemons.

WOW, I actually agree, but get Metroid Prime the first one. I would say its better ~TSBK~ |
Well, it depends what games you're into. ^_^ I actually like RPGs more than Adventures. So I'd settle for:
First Choice: The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker: Great game. Although it has very bad graphics (like cels, giving it the nickname; "Celda"), it is still a good game. Not as big as tOoT, or MM, but it is enjoyable, and some parts are challenging. The storyline is original and interesting, and the characters, dungeons, and towns are all uniquely designed. Second Choice: Pokemon Colosseum: Pokemon games are my second favorite type of RPGs (games like Zelda coming first). Pokemon Colosseum has a few drawbacks, but good points, too. First off, Pokemon Colosseum lacks the "C-control", the ability to move the camera around to change the angle. Although it is 3-D, it is not as free as most games. The C-control lack can be very annoying sometimes. Second, the graphics are rushed. Thanks to the "wonderful" Bill Gates's X-Box, Gamecube has to rush a lot of their games these days. When looking at the shadows (and even characters and locations), there are often glitches in their appearance. The good points of this game are that the storyline is good and deep, and the protagonist a hottie. ^^ I still enjoy a nice Adventure game sometimes, though. My first and only choice is: Super Mario Sunshine: This game is NO WHERE near as good as its "predecessor", Super Mario 64. While it had over 15 worlds to explore, SMS only has 7 (9 if you include the final Bowsa battle, and the homing point (Delfino Plaza=Peach's Castle on SM64). And they are no where near as grandly designed as SM64, either. But to compare these games is unfair. This game was rushed (thankyou, X-Box), to keep Gamecube going. It does, however, have a good storyline. Deeper than SM64, and it has more plot. It also has amazing graphics. Although they could have done better with the shadows. (Circles, except Mario.) An annoying fact about this game is all the invisible walls and fake doors. Nothing annoys me more than them. But it is an Adventure game, so such is to be expected. If you've ever played SM64 (which most people have, and if not, some of its misses will score with the new version, Super Mario 64 DS), then just think of Super Mario Sunshine as a SM64 clone (although no where near as good). |
Well, guys. I still didn't get that Gamecube. And it looks like it will take me longer to get it because I got some staffing problems at work now. ><
|
That really sucks =/
GCN's rock =D I really love mine. |
Tales of Symphonia-BEST GAME EVER!!! Zelos is MINE. To go to a ToS forum, just visit mizuho.zapchu.com. I am new to this site, so don't get mad at me for saying anything off topic quite yet... :nervous:

Say, I got another question.
Are those Star Wars Rouge Squadron games any good? |
I've heard the were ^^;
But I've never really played them. |
Well, I'd want the opinion of a few other people first off.
|
I'm planning on getting a GameCube soon. I'm waiting for the SSBM bundle to come out on August 15th. It's basically a platinum Gamecube with SSBM for $99.
I'm definitely getting the LOTR games/Colosseum/the Star Wars games too. I'll probably try F-Zero GX and Super Mario Sunshine too, since I've heard they're good. And I might try Wind Waker, since I liked playing Ocarina of Time when I was little on my friend's N64. |
The Super Monkey Ball Games are my Mom's favorites. My favorites are:
~SSBM ~Dragon Ball Z Budakai (I beat Story mode!) ~Pikmin 1 & 2 Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (1 of my current Favorites-Just 2 more Crystal stars to go!) ~Super Mario Sunshine ~Yugioh: The FalseBound Kingdom (I have a feeling that I have a loooooooooong way to go..) Also, if you like Final Fantasy, you should try Evolution Worlds |
i dunno if you're into fighters... but capcom vs. snk 2 would be rediculously inexpensive. when i got it new it was $20. it's a great game, i spend most of my game time playing it. and viewtiful joe 1&2 are nice, inexpensive games to throw into your collection as well. (go capcom)

Has anybody here actually played the Star Wars Rogue Squadron games? I want to see if they are any good so I can buy a few of them.
it reminds me of Star Wars Battlefront. ^^ |
A Mario game? I think there's an NBA Street, but I dunno if you're into sports. I know it's pretty good on the XBOX, but... well... it might not be good on gamecube.
|
I have Rogue Squadron for N64, but I've never played the GC ones. The N64 version was awesome though. Basically you fly around in your X-Wing (or Y-Wing, or V-Wing, or... XD) and shoot stuff. It's really fun. ^^
Anybody ever played Star Wars Clone Wars? I saw that in GameStop the other day... |
I haven't o.o;
The Nintendo Power guide made it sound pretty good though ^^ |
I'll make sure to get the N64 Rogue Squardron Game, since I still have my N64. XD
|
I started out with SSBM and Wrestlemania X8.
Get SSBM if you're in to the whole party action thing. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! if you like racing with weapons LOZ:Wind Waker if you like adventure games(I didn't like this game, but I like the rest of the series) Soul Cailbur 2 if you like those 1 on 1 fighting games(This game kicks @$$!) Any NFL game if you like football(duh) I'll update later with new games if I remember. XD |
