This is possibly the easiest move set to build and you've destroyed it with the common mistake of giving your pokemon several moves of the same type.

WTH? Overheat and Ice Beam? *double takes* FWAAAAAA????
Go either all special or all physical. Only because you want your rayquaza to outspeed other weather changers so you don't get ohko'd by ice beam from everything. But that doesn't matter because mewtwo will always outspeed you and kill you. Always.

Thunder-pp 10

The nature lowers speed and raises attack which won't be needed for kyogre's set. Giving 3 moves of the same type to a pokemon isn't a good idea anyway. Use: Ice Beam, Surf, Thunder, Calm Mind instead and try to get a Kyogre with Modest nature for this set.

Walrien lv.55
Item-Nevermeltice
Nature-Timid
Ability-Thick Fat
Moves
Ice Ball-pp 20
Blizzard-pp 5
Aurora beam-pp 20
Hail-pp 10

Try: Ice Beam, Surf, Toxic, Encore instead.

Groudon lv.71
Item-Quick Claw
Nature-Docile
Ability-Drought
Moves
Fire Blast-pp 5
Cut-pp 30
Fissure-pp 5
Solar Beam- 10

Probably one of the best Groudon sets would be: Overheat, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Swords Dance. But definetly not cut and fissure almost never hits. It's not the best idea to use Kyogre and Groudon on the same team anyway...

Alakazam lv.59
Item-Sitrus berry
Nature-Calm
Ability-Inner Focus
Moves
Psybeam-pp 28
Thief-pp 10
Trick-pp 10
Psychic-pp 10

Trick only works well with Choice Band held. Psybeam and Psychic are of the same type so you should replace Psybeam with either Fire Punch/Ice Punch/Thunderpunch and replace Thief with either Fire Punch/Thunderpunch/Ice Punch.

Wobbuffet lv.58
Item-Sitrus berry
Nature-Hasty
Ability-Shadow Tag
Moves
Counter-pp 20
Mirror Coat- pp 20
Safeguard-pp 25
Destiny Bond-pp 5

Well, the nature doesn't suit this set the best... :dead:

Rayqueza lv.73
Item-leftovers
Nature-Timid
Ability-Air Lock
Moves
Fly-pp 15
Earthquake-pp 10
Overheat-pp 5
Ice Beam-pp 10

Because the nature lowers attack, you should try to use it as a special sweeper rather than a mixed or a physical one. Why Overheat? That will lower sp.attack and IB will have almost no effect then. Fly is formidable for in-game but not recommended. I'd try this set:
Surf/Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Crunch/Flamethrower, Dragon Claw.

Hope this will help you. Well, good luck!

I rate it a 4/10. It needs a way better moveset.

Don't use him, but you have all Ice attacks, that sucks! Even a person that doesn't use Walrien (me), can make a better set than that!

There are 2 reasons I'm sure about:

1.T-bolt has more PP.
2.If someone changes the weather Thunder won't hit most of the time.

Both attacks work for him though.

Sapphire Skitty July 9th, 2005 11:09 AM

Try this instead

[email protected] Chesto Berry

Rest
Surf
Ice Beam
Body Slam

Now this Kyogre can use Rest an immediatly wake up. Also, it can freeze or paralyze the opponent. Surf is the most powerful water move in the game, so when Kyogre uses it, it will cause more damage because of STAB. Use Heart Scales to teach it Body Slam. Surf can stay. Ice beam can be obtained at the game corner for 4,000 coins, or you can use a heart scale. Rest can also be recieved through a heart scale, or you can get it from a house in Lilycove.

You may not need Walrien because you already have an Ice Beaming Kyogre. I would suggest Swellow.

[email protected] Leftovers

Wing Attack
Double Team
Endeavor
Sunny Day

A great moveset. Use Sunny Day, it will make Thunder only 50% accurate. Use Double Team when Swellow's HP is low. Then use Endeavor. Wing Attack is a quick killer, for bug and grass types.

[email protected] Charcoal

Flamethrower
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Earthquake

Use Sunny Day incase that another weather move cancels Groundon's Drought. Charcoal and Sunny Day combined will make Flamethrower stronger. Earthquake is better than fissure, since it is more accurate. Earthquake can hit foes even while they use Dig. And Solarbeam is for those pesky rock, ground, and water types.

[email protected] Shell Bell

Psychic
Calm Mind
Double Team
Trick

The Shell Bell is like leftovers; it heals HP every turn. Calm Mind will power up SP ATCK. and SP DFC. Double Team can be used before Calm Mind, to prevent damage. Trick switches the items you and the foe hold. If you are planning to use Trick, I suggest you take off the Shell Bell. You can take the foe's item even if you aren't holding anything.

You have Alakazam, Wobbuffet is uneeded. Try using Mightyena.

[email protected] Blackglasses

Crunch
Roar
Double Team/Sand Attack
Scary Face

Blackglasses will power up Crunch, and since it is a dark type move, STAB will improve the damage. Roar will switch out those fighting types. Double Team/Sand Attack is for stalling. Scary Face will lower the opponent's speed.

[email protected] Chesto Berry

Aerial Ace
Dragon Claw
Rest
Thunderbolt

Chesto Berry and rest will give you a quick healing Rayquaza. Dragon Claw is a good physical attack. Aerial Ace is better than fly because it has more PP and it never misses (unless the opponent uses fly/dig/dive). Thunderbolt is for water and flying types; incase you need a quick knockout.

Well, hope I helped. Try to follow the pattern of moves I stated. Always use a status lowering/raising move on a pokemon if possible. Weather moves are ideal for a great team. And of course, the quick knockout moves are great, too.

If you need help on contest movesets, feel free to PM me.

Sorry I don't give very good advice on natures and held items

Sapphire Skitty Why is Wabbuffet not needed just because he has Zam, the do two different jobs, Zam is a sweeper, and Wabbuffet is a wall. No offence but just glancing at those sets they arn't good, alakazamisbest don't use the set Sapphire Skitty posted.:\

Oh, and since when do you run this thread? It's not your decision of which moveset he's gonna use. If he wants to use my suggestions, then he's allowed to.

Mullet July 10th, 2005 2:02 PM

I was telling him that for his own good. Sapphire Skitty do you NetBattle, well if you don't download it, and go to the Smogon server, then try out the sets you posted, you will most likely lose.:dead:

Sapphire Skitty July 10th, 2005 2:07 PM

Charmander (30)

Err...he said SAPPHIRE TEAM.

Not netbattle.

Anyways, I'm not going to get caught up in a fight here.

Cyndaquil

Mullet July 10th, 2005 2:13 PM

I know it isn't NB, but you should download it and see how good you are *snickers*. Plus you put Body Slam on Kyorge, which is a no, no. Kyorge has much more leverage in Sp. attack.

[email protected]
Calm Mind
Ice Beam
T-bolt
Surf

That's a Kyogre.

Charmander (28)

FYI, i'm downloading it right now. (It's taking a long time....)

And I kick butt at the regular pokemon games, so maybe I'll be good at netbattling.

We'll just have to see.

Wow. Just wow.
Read some pokemon tutorials on gamefaqs (apparently don't trust their moveset lists), take a look at smogon.com, visit serebii.net and hit up their game mechanics and whatnot section... just... please inform yourself before saying you're good at this game. I'm not trying to flame or argue, but it seems like you're shooting your mouth off without having much in the way of knowledge of the game and its mechanics, which is basically 99% of 'being good at pokemon'.
