Rate my Smeargle!

Smeargle (F) @ Lefties
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Def / 252 Sp. Def
Timid Nature (+ Spd, - Atk)
- Ingrain
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Substitute

Made for a slow death.. I know the move set is more suited for a grass type, but I don't want the chance of a fire type beating the pulp out of it, besides, I'm not especially fond of grass types...

Needs mean look or the opponent can keep switching in and out

CipherDakim12 July 12th, 2005 6:54 AM

Mine knows:

Mind Reader
Lock-on
Horn Drill
Sheer Cold

sorry but i fail to see how that can possibly work... especially if the opponent switches in a grass type then you can't do anything against it... and anything with sub and is faster than smeargle also beats it to death. this set is no good.

if you want to use leech seed, use a grass type. and if you don't like grass types, learn to love them because they certainly can outdo smeargle when it comes to leech sub.

§ Bleep § July 12th, 2005 10:55 AM

someone delete the triple post lol...

yeah it needs meanlook.

aero spells your doom.

even with the def/specdef evs, any strong attacker will beat the pulp outta you.

Shadow Tyranitar July 12th, 2005 1:06 PM

no, smeragle's too slow, isn't durable, and this set does nothing to grass types. stick with a standard set.

husk1442 July 12th, 2005 1:26 PM

Main problem is that it lacks defenses and HP. It dies if the opponent isn't incapacitated (spore)

Espy Psyche July 14th, 2005 10:49 AM

Lock-on
Horn Drill
Iron Defense
Amnesia
Evs-DEF/SD

Charactarantula July 14th, 2005 11:02 AM

The only smeargle i ever used was BT smeargle with belly drum.

[email protected] berry
spore
Belly Drum
Substitute
Baton Pass

it worked for a while.

§ Bleep § July 14th, 2005 11:48 AM

e4 protector, thats the faggot set... irondefense/amnesia will do jack for you. this is waht it should be if you want full effect:

[email protected]/Salac
Trait: Own Tempo
252 Speed/252 HP/6 Def
Nature: Timid/Jolly/Hasty
- Spore
- Meanlook
- Lock-On
- Sheer Cold

that is the better faggot set.

absolute maxed Sp.atk Smeargle(no stage boosts) with Psychic on minimal defense Heracross(one of the most common fighting types)

Minimum Damage 29%
Average Damage 31%
Maximum Damage 34%

Heracross with Max attack(no stage boosts) with Brick Break on minimal defense Smeargle(any other kind?)

Minimum Damage 232%
Average Damage 252%
Maximum Damage 273%

Heracross is faster, so Psychic is out.

Do the math.

Anyways, I hope that was sarcasm.

pikajens July 14th, 2005 3:37 PM

The only thing I see Smeargle is good for is as a BPer with a Sponge on your side using Follow Me. When Smeargle BPs Sponge uses Psych Up. However, the only Pokes that learn Follow Me are Togetic, Furret and Clefable, with the first only able to use it effectively. Here are the Movesets.

Smeargle --|-- Togetic
EVS Def, Sp.Def --|-- Evs SpDef HP
Baton Pass --|-- Follow Me
Dragon Dance --|-- Psychic
Calm Mind --|-- Calm Mind
Substitute --|-- Counter

Tell me how this Is!!

-Ingrain
-Spore
-Swords Dance/Belly Drum
-Baton pass

Pass attack and speed and ingrain to endure reverser. This way, it will not die automatically from sandstorm or quick attack! :)

Ham July 15th, 2005 8:46 AM

Sandstorm comes before Leftovers/Ingrain, and how would it not die from QA?

Golden Groudon July 15th, 2005 9:12 AM

It's too bad Smeargle is faster than a tar.

But neither why, it's going to die.

Kinda the only BPer that *may* work

@salac
Spore
BP
sub
belly drum

OR a supriser

Spore
Endure
Endeavor
~filler like Seismic toss?

Ham July 15th, 2005 11:35 AM

Quick Attack/Mach Punch.

you know, to kill 'em.

possibility, but your dending too much on luck for this set. spore puts em to sleep, but you dunno for how long. and once they're spored, you'll be met with a hazer(vaporeon/weezing) cus most of the more experienced players know that smeargle will prolly have ingrain...

LOL mind reader and lock on do the same thing and sheer cold and horn drill do the same thing except sheer cold has no immunitites. if you want to be a faggot with no skill, use spore/mean look/lock on/sheer cold
