Most of the things people call communist and socialist these days actually aren't but with so much news and misinfo spreading I can see why people don't know.
|
|
Yup! It's a lot of fear mongering too T_T
|
hello how is everyone doing on this day?
|
Doing good ty!
I had a crazily busy week, and that's continued into today, but I'm gonna listen to some Asian music and do some poetry tonight, so hopefully I'll finally chill out a little :) I hope you, and everyone else, is having a spectacularly good weekend :) |
When voting only takes 5 minutes in total; it's the benefits of having voting day on Sunday and you get there right when the voting booths open up. Funny enough: most of the time I spend was me getting a pen. xD

scary shit

Here in the UK, we have to register in the first place, then "confirm our details" at regular intervals...
Our system is broken in so many ways that I just don't wanna go into tbh. It's a mess. |
The US Government is absolute crap. One side does something and the other side goes bat shit insane. Like no one wants to TRULY fix anything.
|
I.....don't get into politics as I feel I don't know enough to do so. Plus our government is pretty messed up.
Anyway! Hi all! How we doing? |
I do not bother with politics much, can't shitpost in politics :(
Doing great, although monday is getting closer and I feel I haven't done much this weekend D: |
I didn't have to register, I was just automatically sent the voter's ID. You can vote even if you don't have one if you provide ID, proof of residency and are 18+
|
We're automatically assigned an ID here since our birth is registered and automatically become elegible to vote upon turning 18
But I guess having your ID data in the state/country's database is too communist and liberty-infringing for imperialist US to deal with Also what in the fuck has this forum turned into I don't recognise literally anything |
I had a different username last time you were here, but I recognize you!
And it's just as Nah said, their policies are there to basically make sure underprivileged people don't/can't vote. I use twitter fairly often and see things like "New [state] law requires people to jump through a hoop of fire before they can vote!" As for me, I missed my country's federal election because I fell asleep. |
I can't believe it's nearly October 😱
|
Our local stores have began halloween stuff.
Many times they ignore these holidays and start with christmas. I understand why, since christmas is way more marketable. |
I get tired of stores putting decorations out way to early. I want to enjoy one month and holiday at a time.
|
i looked in the seasonal section at target the other day and could not believe what i saw
i love christmas but its still far too early |
I’ve even seen some christmas ads on TV already…… it’s happening ladies

I don't know why but this year I don't seem to be into speculatius at all. Maybe I've eaten way to much of it over the years?
|
I'm not looking forward to Christmas.
It will be empty. |
It's hard to enjoy the holidays when I can't come and go as I please because I can't drive and have to rely on others to drive me.
|
My situation is different.
It's our first Christmas without my step father. |

I'm so sorry. I'm here for you too ♥

This autumn seems to be a time for appliances to break down in my household all at once.
In August the oven went out in my home. It was an old, crappy piece of junk that looks like it was made in the 1970s. I live in an old house, and it came with the place, and I had to make due with that stove until it died. I always hated it, so I am not sorry to see that eyesore go, it was also enormous and took up too much space in the kitchen, so I took it as an opportunity to shop for a new oven. But then in September I had some car trouble. At first I thought it was just a flat tire, but it was a more serious issue actually where the brakes were beginning to malfunction, and they were grinding against the tires, which punctured one of them. While nobody is happy to have car trouble, I am relieved that my Honda showed some sign that something was not right when it did in a tire driving a little wonky, because otherwise not having working brakes could have been a life-threatening issue. Because I had to pay for some car repairs last month right after the oven broke down, I didn't end up buying that brand new oven like I had hoped. One issue was a more dire emergency than the other. I am managing by cooking on the grill I have got, using my microwave and I also bought a broiler oven to bake with. Spending a couple of hundred dollars for a mini oven is a temporary fix until I can come up with a couple of thousand for normal oven. Now that October has rolled around something else has fallen down on my head. The refrigerator started acting funny, the fridge isn't cool, the inside is like room temperature. It's a double door refrigerator with a freezer, and the freezer part is cold and frosty like it should be, but it's supposed to have an ice maker, and for some reason the ice maker stopped making ice. I briefly put the food and beverages from my refrigerator in the freezer to keep it from spoiling since that part is at least cold, while i tried to troubleshoot what was going on, but then more problems occured right after that. I tried to get water from the dispenser on the refrigerator today, and the water wouldn't stop pouring out, it was like the lever got jammed or something, and I couldn't turn it off. I could change the settings though from water to ice, and since there was no ice being made, putting it on ice mode stopped the water from coming out, and now nothing is coming out, which is better than standing in pools of water. After mopping up the floors it's time to call a repairman to service the refrigerator. I'm dreading to see what will fall apart in November because it seems like every month it's something new. My guess will be the roof. I just feel like I'm a walking episode of I Love Lucy right now. https://i.postimg.cc/Pxtg9Lps/lucy-bread.gif |
Omg Sam... that is a lot to happen at once, I'm sorry. I've had cases where everything just piles up at once and it's absolutely dreadful. Makes my stress quadruple and any little thing on top of that just makes me feel infinitely worse. I hope nothing else happens and this all gets sorted soon. :s
|
I'm really hoping the rest of the year is peaceful for you! Our deep freeze went out and the smell made me retch. I'm so sorry.
|
hi all! how are we doing?? i've once again been away for a while, almost a year :/
but hi nonetheless!! |
I'm getting used to going back to the office, it's really annoying to lose about an hour per day commuting once again... and I can't listen to music or watch youtube videos during my off-peak times as I did before :(
|
I listen to music on the bus because I simply do not want people talking to me.
|
Hola peeps. Have a bump from me. How are you all? 😊

If I wasn't mentally ill and autistic I would be a powerful entity, rest assured.
Which is why I'm mentally ill, autistic, and wracked with GI issues. (The GI issues are insurance) |
I always work at 110%. That's 10% for a normal human being.

i used to love the dark but now i'm ambivalent towards it if only because it just reminds me that work is the next day and i don't exactly like my job lmao u_u
i want to like the night again. it was fun being outside at the night sky and looking at the stars, but i haven't done that in such a long time... |

Yeah! Plus the dark makes me tired, but that's a normal thing in humans.
|
i kinda miss the days where i would easily stay up until like...3-4 am? i still sometimes do if i have a day off from work, but it's nowhere near as often these days. @[email protected]
|
I loved going to bed at like 8 as a kid and sleeping the whole night and being refreshed.
We sleep best at night, though! |
As a kid I also went to sleep at about 8 pm. Even when I was allowed to stay up longer I used to go to bed anyway and just spend an hour going into my own fantasy world.
Even nowadays I don't really stay up much longer. Well, I do need to get up earlier because work hours suck. The big difference is that my fantasy world these days is nothing more than a barren wasteland. <_< Oh, and I have a hard time sleeping and end up waking up very often. But that's apparently very common in society. ^^" |
My shift ends at midnight so it's a common occurrence for me to go to bed a bit past 1 and wake up at 10 or so these days. As a person who hates waking up early, but doesn't enjoy staying up too late either, this is kind of the best possible balance for me.

I keep waking up at 4:30am for some reason...it was 3:30am this morning since the clocks went back. I just put a compilation playlist on my iPod and dozed off until 5. xD

Happy Halloween to all who celebrate.
Halloween is also my mother's birthday, hopefully we can do something nice. |
Today would also be a holiday for some people. At least in those places where people celebrate the day when Martin Luther accidentally split the church into catholic and evangelic camps.
|
Any day where you don't have to work is a holiday tbh xD
Speaking of, I have a week and a half off starting from next Tuesday! Thank god. But it's also my birthday next Sunday...sigh... |
i'm guessing you dont really like birthdays, zeria? D:
|
Happy halloween / Samhain / whatever you celebrate peeps! 🎃
|

...but the presents are nice at least. |

|
I don't really celebrate mine.
|
I try to celebrate mine but no one ever seems to be around to do anything. I mean I almost didn't make it as a baby and for my 26th birthday I had my pacemaker put in.
|
I can't say I have much fondness for my own birthdays anymore either. When you're a kid, there's still "milestones" to hit in age, the novelty's not worn off yet, and you can't wait to grow up and become an adult.
And then you become an adult, find out it's not what you thought it would be, find out the world sucks, and have no new milestones to hit. Each passing year kind of just ends up feeling like another chapter in the slow march towards a body that doesn't function well and eventually death. And even if you try to view them through the lens of celebrating the existence of someone, what is there to celebrate exactly? I'm not worth anything. |
i suppose 30 is another milestone... sorta. and every decade after that is sort of a milestone to hit in age i think. after 50 though it's probably just whatever at that point.
|
I can't see myself hitting 40, never mind 50. Although that said I couldn't see myself hitting 30 either, and I wasn't expected to see 20 when I was 15. So who knows. Thinking that far ahead into the future isn't something I am particularly good at, haha.
|
i can't see myself being old, period. ><; it's so hard imagining myself being an old person...
|
I used to think 30 was old…
|
idk how to feel about 30. im mostly pressured and stressed because i feel like it's the age where i should Figure Out Shit about my life and make significant progress by then, but with the way my life is going... @[email protected] i can only hope i'll get out of my funk of a life by the time i'm 30.
|
I turned 21 over the summer. I was lame enough to order a lemonade instead of alcohol that night.
I tried alcohol later that week while running supplies for the bartender. It didn't appeal to me and I switched back over to water. |
i rarely drink alcohol. i mostly stick to wine if anything, and only on special occasions.
|
Alcoholism runs in my family so I avoid it.
If you use twitter, people call you a boomer at 30. I just ignore it. |
