I have been battling sickness for 24 hours but I now feel a lot better! Praise

Dear goodness, first time I've opened the CC thread in a bit and you're all in need of so many hugs ;(
How is everyone? I hope you're all doing better today <3 |
Sending more hugs!
Today was another chill day where I was trying to do things but my focus was always shifting :o At least I had Paramore to keep me company hehe |
We had a random warm day in the middle of February.
|
I'm back in day-hab FINALLY! It was a stupid way I got in....like a really stupid way, but it was worth it.
It's almost like "I won, but at what cost." But not really, so like....I don't know. No more meetings until August thank the heavens. Life is improving by like a lot now. Also, can I be single? Like, please? I had it with romantic relationships (Not aro/ace, but a personal choice). |
Some people decide to stay single and are pretty happy with that. As long as you have something else that keeps you going you may not need a relationship.
I'm not one of them, though. I'm single out of the consequences of a bunch of unfortunate events throughout my life that kept me incapable to ever getting into a relationship. Kind of sucks, when you're the romantic type ngl. ^^" |
I'm single, but not by choice, but because fate had it that I do be alone xd
|
Single as well.
Not by choice. I'm really shy irl and pretty much don't approach anyone. And I'm not attractive enough to get approached instead so obviously nothing's gonna happen. I've sort of made peace with it by now though. Not that I'm happy with it, but I got used to it I guess. |
I need a very calm weekend ugh
|

I'm sorry for those who are single not by choice. I really hope all of you could find someone who loves you for you. That's all I could say. I wish I could help. |
I'd like reunite with someone I liked in school, but it's very hard.
|
Hola beautiful peeps! This thread needs a little bump...
How is everyone now that March is here? |
tbh School just is giving no reason to want to be on this earth like something is going on and I have been so Apathetic more than usual.
|
I'm doing relatively well but... whereas I was feeling burned out myself last week or so, now I just feel like bad luck and laziness is keeping me here even when I'm trying to recover! But oh well... I'm here, I'm chatting a bit more often, so that's progress! Thanks to Starlight for bumping the thread I guess ♥♥♥
|
Inflation is so wild in this country, and the government is doing nothing.
It's stressful. |
I wouldn't say the government is doing nothing.
I'd say the government is making it worse. |
Call me a conspiracy theorist but I honestly believe the goal of the elite is to wipe out the poor, sick and disabled. Why else do you think healthcare is always cut? Why seniors are so neglected and abused in nursing homes and the disabled in group homes.
We can't offer our labor to them so we're useless in a capitalist society. |
Personally, I wouldn't call you a conspiracy theorist, I think you're, if not right on the money, pretty close. Though my woes still lie with corporatism over capitalism, the same thoughts tend to run through my head. The elites don't care about the "little people" and would rather start all over.
|
I like to believe in humanity in general, of course. I know patient neglect, for example, isn't the workers' fault but the government's for underfunding.
|
Derailing the topic momentarily, but the new forum splash looks great. Very “spring”! (´,,•ω•,,)♡
|
Skipped winter, lol.
|
i like it too o:
|
The temp was in the positives today ;_;
|
Right now we’re having what is technically the first thunderstorm of the year, so that’s cool! Even tho it’s a little lame haha.
|
We had our nice day yesterday and then it fell off a cliff today.
|
The temperatures are warming up a BIT. At this time of year I'm just like "It's above 0."
|
Mid 30s (c) this week, then cools down over the weekend and beyond thankfully.
Might still be rather warm during a hike I'll go on soon, but oh well. |
You're in the southern hemisphere I assume then?
We're having positives all week! |
Snow *might* be coming tomorrow, but then again, we might just get rain. After two beautiful days, we get an icky weekend. Ho hum.
Well we had the cleaners come to the house and they...stole my Switch Lite charger GAH! Stupid people. Well, as much as I am leaning toward my Switch Lite more and more everyday, my heart still stands with the 2DS. Even though I was looking forward to specifically Sonic Frontiers and the Klonoa remakes, maybe this is a sign...I am so close to dropping out of the Pokemon fandom, and was in no way planning to get Pokemon Scarlet/Violet or whatever they were called. I didn't even get BDSP or P:LA so...yeah. Sure I turned my room upside down looking for that stupid wire but...after a while...idk. In other news. I made it into Wednesday night drumline class. YAY! The 16th will be my first Wednesday. I'm going to be playing the tenor drum, which is like five little drums on one...thing. Idk but it's good stuff. I got the drum book that is required too so that's good. PSA: Change your clocks Saturday night. Daylights saving time. At least where I live. |
It is here too, I'll have to remember to change them.
We just had rain and fog. |
Seems like my email account I use for most things online got deleted. And since most of these things nowadays require you to do some verification bs in some shape or form (even if you just want to change email addresses) it's basically a lockout for me. Or, you know, going through a lot of hoops. <_<
|
It's the same with phones. There's sites that REQUIRE texting but not everyone can get/afford a smartphone.
The government of Canada sites all require a phone but they have a call option. |
While I've managed to update most accounts I wanted with my new email address, Discord of all things ends up being the most troublesome...
So, I basically asked support what to do in regards to the email address. The answer was "without an existing email we can't verify it's you. Your best option is to make a new account." Like, why can places like Steam allow me to relatively easily change my email address after a loss but Discord can't? Urgh! <_< |
I hate that crap. Or ones that need more than one verification like another email or phone number. I have an email for all the BS and sign up for this crap and then another email for more personal and important things.

Here in the UK we have just introduced 2fa authentication for nearly everything. It's much, much safer, but not foolproof either. |
That's it! 2fa! They need more options than just a mobile phone ;;
|
I worry about things with 2fa if I happen to lose my phone or it suddenly breaks, etc. Seems like a right pain to deal with then. =/

Finally got to call a company to get rid of my old car. That thing was just standing around for the last two years. It should have been gone a long time ago...well, I guess once that's done it's just a tiny sep further towards behaving like a normal human being ^^"
|
There's 10 bazillion pizza products you can get here and I end up always end up somehow buying the worst ones. Like some twisted lottery.
|
It at least means you get the bad stuff out pretty early. It can only get better! :)
|
My stomach expressed it's distaste last night and today.
|
Sorry to hear. :(
Did they put in some stuff you're allergic to? Some people also can't eat pizza due to lactose intolerance. |
I can eat pizza and dairy, this one had some weird sauce though.
|
There's probably some strange spices put into it? Well, I hope you got better! :)
|
Idk, but I need to watch my fat intake.
|
The pokemon forum I'm a mod on has been down pretty much all day. It's like an unintentional April Fools joke.
|
did pokecommunity have an april fools joke this year?
i'm guessing it was this article, https://daily.pokecommunity.com/2022/04/01/the-history-of-sus-pokemon/ but I'm not sure. |
I think that's it? But I was sick that day so :c
|
It was the article - and I understand the reason now, but thank you for answering.
|
Amogus
If I feel good tomorrow, I have a shitload of shovelling to do. |

Just realizing I consistently have themes of characters like Yae Miko coupled with Slayer lyrics.
Not always Slayer, but they never match the character. |
I was looking at my online statement, and some of my medical expenses. The one I find hardest to believe is the 140 dollar charge just for a call with my doctor. I wasn't even at the doctor's office in person, so they aren't charging for the use of any medical equipment. This is what I have to pay to have a phone call. She just asked me a question or two, a check-in to see how I feel, and make sure I am not experiencing any side effects to medication, and confirm I want a renewal. This isn't the cost of the prescription, or for the labor of the pharmacist to fill it. Those are seperate charges I pay at the pharmacy pickup. This fee was literally for the two-minute talk time. My doctor herself is cool, but the greed in the American healthcare system is not.
I was asked if I want to schedule my annual blood work, but I will postpone that, if I can. The last time I did a blood test I was billed 1,000 dollars. |
I can't fathom any of that...
I'm so sorry ;_; |
Had a similar doctor visit a month ago. Views that as a subscription fee, personally. Answers short questions and reviews medical tests between visits for no cost. Barked at insurance to cover better medicine. Undoubtedly varies between doctors and conditions, though.
Crossed the 1000 dollar mark for a blood test once or twice too. Submits to $383 blood tests monthly (for now). Knocks all of it down to $10 each with insurance, thankfully. Obviously becomes a huge problem for those without insurance, though. |
Then they only end up in hospital when it's really serious and considered a "strain" on the system, thus patient dumping occurs.
Canada's healthcare quality varies by province, but I'm 100% sure this province has the worst. |
figured out today why there was a random piece of wood in the apartment when we moved in: the slider door lock doesn't work, and so the wood is so you can place it so the slider door won't open
|
We did that anyway, no murderers on our watch!
|
Who else is working on learning to drive? I passed my theory test yesterday! 44/50 and 57/70 which isn't too bad imo. Now comes the hard part, actually booking my practical test! With the system being so booked up, I'll be lucky to get a slot as early as September lol 😱
|
I'm nervous about actually driving, but I could pass the theory test.
|
I got my licence 12 years ago and... I haven't touched a car since. At the very least, if I ever need to, I can skip the paperwork and focus on a few retraining classes :x
|
It took me forever to get my license to drive. Actually had a fully paid-off car sitting in my driveway for years before I learned to drive. I think it was my anxiety making it worse than the whole situation actually is. The written part of the test was easy for me.
The actual driving after getting the license is much easier. |
That relieves me a bit! I'm always like "how will know how much to turn the wheel?" and such.
|
I only got my license on the third try heh. Was way too nervous yeah.
|
What I'm worried about is my clumsiness and terrible memory. Like I could forget to put it in drive and back right into someone.
|
I got through the theoretical part of my drivers license tests with no issues whatsoever. No need for learning and no mistakes at all.
However, I had to take a ton of extra driving lessons because I just couldn't grasp the practical stuff at all. Somehow I managed to get through on my first attempt of a practise test, though. I still don't know how I pulled that one off. That was in 2008. I got a car in 2009 and used it up until ~2 years ago. From then on it just stood around for quite a while until recently when I finally decided to part ways with it. I currently don't own a car and don't see a reason to get a new one. |

One of my goals for the future is to live without a car though! I think that would be better for everyone involved~ |

Also there is no way I'm driving at night with those LED cars out there.
|
I haven't owned a car for many years now and I hope I can keep away from owning one for years to come still. It will probably get more difficult if we get kids, as we might want to be able to go places easily and quickly, and might want to purchase larger things more smoothly etc. But we'll try.

Probably less costly in that you'd be using it when you need to rather than just paying either a large sum for a car and also the constant running of it.
There's also the consideration that most of Europe will be planning to move to electric cars in the next decade or so anyway, so the environmental factor won't be much of an issue then! |
I only wished to offer a suggestion, though I misread the post a bit.
I live in the sticks so I need a car. |

Could be said about almost everything though innit, selflessness only achieved by consuming nothing lest it be mass produced
|
Never really cared for the whole "electric cars will help save the planet" angle myself. Sure, the car itself isn't burning fossil fuels while in use, but what do you think is generating the electricity that powers the electric car?
It's fossil fuels. The whole thing is just pushing responsibility off of the people and entities that could make the most impact (governments, corporations, the 1%) onto the people that make the lesser impact, tricking them into thinking that they're making a difference when they're really not, so the former can keep doing what it's doing while not giving a fuck about what happens. |

Honestly if huge corps owned by multi billionaires weren't billowing toxic shit into the air, water, land, food, we wouldn't have this issue neatly as bad.

But we're just going to go in circles and butt heads so - how is everyone today! |
hi!!! im relaxing and enjoying my days off from work
how have you been?? |
Pretty good! Finally got some great news: my dad’s brain MRI came back with no issues or anything anomalous that isn’t consistent with typical aging! So that was a huge relief to hear. :’)
|
i wish i had good news my way but life has been extremely bleh these days and will continue to be so for the near future, at least. u_u i'm working on it, though.
|
hang in there angie dear!
|
Oh! My mom's biopsy came back free of cancer. But they don't know /what/ it is.

|
She's a senior, so she has yearly mammographys. This year, they found something they couldn't identify, so she had a biopsy.
|
Ah, I see. Well, I'm glad the anomaly ended up benign! I'm sure it will be identified and dealt with by her doctors. :)
|
Just it not being cancer is relief enough for us.
Honestly, I already have to get regular tests for my health, I'm not looking forward to that one. |
hi all o/ hope everyone is doing well~

How about the rest of you lovely peeps? How is the PC fam today? I haven't posted in here in far too long! I still hope to see Multiverse of Madness at some point but I can't until I'm clear obviously. I think I'll take some time to watch something or finish some very neglected poetry if I get the chance. What does everyone have planned for the rest of the week? |
Well, I work Thursday to Sunday I think.
I hope it's not too hot, some of my work is outside. |
Feeling pretty great and refreshed, it's my second week at the gym. My aim is 3-5 visits per week depending on work, gotta make it a habit so I don't find myself dropping it after a month or two. So I guess this week's plans are: go to the gym on Friday and Saturday, as well as get a start on Bravely Default II.
|
Oh my god, one of my coworkers has literally the worst personality. I'm gonna ask my manager to schedule me around her.

Re: Plans for the rest of the week. Submitted to a physical on last Thursday (19th). Went by without incident. Needs to complete a blood test later still. Decided to roll it in with the usual slew at the end of the month. Remarks on nothing of note for week now past and the week ahead.
_______ Sighs. Recalled a bunch of JIF peanut butter over potential Salmonella. Counts among those at high risk for severe illness. Feels quite unlucky, given the very low number of foods consumed. (Swaps brands easily enough, for the record.) (May or may not have had affected jars. Only saw the UPCs in the press release initially. Discovered lot numbers only after returning them. Remembers the best-by dates, but not the lot numbers.) |
