It was the article - and I understand the reason now, but thank you for answering.

Just realizing I consistently have themes of characters like Yae Miko coupled with Slayer lyrics.
Not always Slayer, but they never match the character. |
I was looking at my online statement, and some of my medical expenses. The one I find hardest to believe is the 140 dollar charge just for a call with my doctor. I wasn't even at the doctor's office in person, so they aren't charging for the use of any medical equipment. This is what I have to pay to have a phone call. She just asked me a question or two, a check-in to see how I feel, and make sure I am not experiencing any side effects to medication, and confirm I want a renewal. This isn't the cost of the prescription, or for the labor of the pharmacist to fill it. Those are seperate charges I pay at the pharmacy pickup. This fee was literally for the two-minute talk time. My doctor herself is cool, but the greed in the American healthcare system is not.
I was asked if I want to schedule my annual blood work, but I will postpone that, if I can. The last time I did a blood test I was billed 1,000 dollars. |
I can't fathom any of that...
I'm so sorry ;_; |
Had a similar doctor visit a month ago. Views that as a subscription fee, personally. Answers short questions and reviews medical tests between visits for no cost. Barked at insurance to cover better medicine. Undoubtedly varies between doctors and conditions, though.
Crossed the 1000 dollar mark for a blood test once or twice too. Submits to $383 blood tests monthly (for now). Knocks all of it down to $10 each with insurance, thankfully. Obviously becomes a huge problem for those without insurance, though. |
Then they only end up in hospital when it's really serious and considered a "strain" on the system, thus patient dumping occurs.
Canada's healthcare quality varies by province, but I'm 100% sure this province has the worst. |
figured out today why there was a random piece of wood in the apartment when we moved in: the slider door lock doesn't work, and so the wood is so you can place it so the slider door won't open

We did that anyway, no murderers on our watch!

Who else is working on learning to drive? I passed my theory test yesterday! 44/50 and 57/70 which isn't too bad imo. Now comes the hard part, actually booking my practical test! With the system being so booked up, I'll be lucky to get a slot as early as September lol 😱
|
I'm nervous about actually driving, but I could pass the theory test.
|
I got my licence 12 years ago and... I haven't touched a car since. At the very least, if I ever need to, I can skip the paperwork and focus on a few retraining classes :x
|
It took me forever to get my license to drive. Actually had a fully paid-off car sitting in my driveway for years before I learned to drive. I think it was my anxiety making it worse than the whole situation actually is. The written part of the test was easy for me.
The actual driving after getting the license is much easier. |
That relieves me a bit! I'm always like "how will know how much to turn the wheel?" and such.
|
I only got my license on the third try heh. Was way too nervous yeah.
|
What I'm worried about is my clumsiness and terrible memory. Like I could forget to put it in drive and back right into someone.
|
I got through the theoretical part of my drivers license tests with no issues whatsoever. No need for learning and no mistakes at all.
However, I had to take a ton of extra driving lessons because I just couldn't grasp the practical stuff at all. Somehow I managed to get through on my first attempt of a practise test, though. I still don't know how I pulled that one off. That was in 2008. I got a car in 2009 and used it up until ~2 years ago. From then on it just stood around for quite a while until recently when I finally decided to part ways with it. I currently don't own a car and don't see a reason to get a new one. |

One of my goals for the future is to live without a car though! I think that would be better for everyone involved~ |

Also there is no way I'm driving at night with those LED cars out there.
|
I haven't owned a car for many years now and I hope I can keep away from owning one for years to come still. It will probably get more difficult if we get kids, as we might want to be able to go places easily and quickly, and might want to purchase larger things more smoothly etc. But we'll try.

Probably less costly in that you'd be using it when you need to rather than just paying either a large sum for a car and also the constant running of it.
There's also the consideration that most of Europe will be planning to move to electric cars in the next decade or so anyway, so the environmental factor won't be much of an issue then! |
