Unless you can get in an attack fast, be careful of Starmie. It can Psychic/Surf/Ice Beam Nidoking, thunderbolt Aerodactyl, Skarmory and Tentacruel. And someone else can give you help on the octopus.

Doomhanger July 15th, 2005 12:55 AM

Thank you for the moveset corrections. My Tentacruel should be able to counter Starmie, if i raise its special defence over 300 and use mirror coat...

Barrier Raises def.,you would need either amnesia (which I dont think you can get on tenatcruel) or b-pass to tentacruel by using Amnesia, but they probably wont be stupid and will haze you anyway

Golden Groudon July 15th, 2005 8:00 AM

Dunno about it's EVs, nature, etc so you can't really say anything.

Offtopic: Mr.Squid's base SD is 120 so it's pretty good.

starmie will ohko it with psychic i think.

Golden Groudon July 15th, 2005 9:41 AM

I dunno about psychic.

Who runs around with a starmie that knows psychic anyway?

Psychic on starmie is LOL and not used. (With the execption of n00bs)

Charactarantula July 15th, 2005 9:42 AM

accually i do and it works perfectly

starmies psychic on tentacruel
Minimum Damage 344
Average Damage 374
Maximum Damage 405

tentacruels max hp 364...

very good chance starmie will ohko it.

rapid spinning set is worthless to me, no one ever spiked me before.

Golden Groudon July 15th, 2005 9:53 AM

Oh well. You probably get away with it anyway. =P

Charactarantula July 15th, 2005 10:05 AM

ive only been spiked was but you can hardly call it spiking, it was only one strip so it didnt bother me at all, i just thunderbolted skarm away lol :

I really like taking advantage of the fact he learns ice punch (which allows him to also use HP: Grass and hit Swampert and Salamence hard), so I generally use:

~Ice Punch
~Thunder Bolt
~HP: Grass

~Quick Attack/Sub/Focus Punch/ T-Wave

Nidoking (novelty)-Choice Band

Shadow Ball
Megahorn

Sludge Bomb

Double Physical STAB and a Nice movepool calls for Choice Banding

This team has a problem with rock/ground types or any physical sweeper who can use rock and groudn type attacks. On the special side, things with psychic or and electric move will give you alot of trouble

Insanity Mawile July 15th, 2005 12:38 PM

Dammit I forgot about Rock/Ground attacks. >_>

But is there any fast Rock/Grounder ingame?

Golden Groudon July 15th, 2005 12:57 PM

Groudon's decent. ;p

Ubers are cool. =P

What's up with timid nature?

Charactarantula July 15th, 2005 1:12 PM

he wants somthing fast so i just though i would throw it in even though it dosent REALLY need it.

Golden Groudon July 15th, 2005 1:31 PM

LOL

Timid is +Speed -Attack

while

Jolly is +Speed -S-Attack

Jolly>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Timid

Charactarantula July 15th, 2005 2:06 PM

WHoops! got my natures mixed up. sorry!

Doomhanger July 16th, 2005 12:27 AM

I can assure you that Tentacruel can withstand Starmie with its mammoth sp defence. I withstood my friend's starmie's Psychic and then Chesto rested to defeat a Dragonite using outrage.

Nevertheless, thank you so much for the movesets...

Golden Groudon July 16th, 2005 7:01 AM

Meh. It was probably EVs.
