How clean is your house?

How clean is your house?

My house is quite clean except for when we have people over, then it's gross. But my roommate and I clean up often. My second roommate is gross.

My whole family is neat freaks

Roni January 24th, 2021 10:49 PM

we have too much stuff and too little space. my aunt who i live with ain't the kind who likes to throw things away right away, so we have packaging boxes stacked on packaging boxes filled with random sh*t all over the living room. i've been meaning to do some cleaning in that area but most of the stuff is just so heavy...

Pretty clean generally I think? If I was an absolute neat freak who needed things spotless all the time, I'd sure be getting a workout lol. Fortunately it's just bf and I here atm so we don't make much of a mess. Back home with the fam it's easier for things to get messier since there are 5 of us + a (crazy) cat.

Over all: We live in an apartment, it's not our house, so we keep it as clean as possible. My step father is a hoarder, but we mop up his area and organize his things.
My room: I also find myself with too many things, I vacuum and clean up regularly.

This was exactly what I was going to add, I think there can be a lot of difference between your whole house and your room, depending on who you are. So I voted in the poll according to my room because it's my personal living space I have full control over.

It's a little messy, but it's not that bad. A few years ago my room would be incredibly messy and it would contribute to my depression a lot. Finally cleaning up my living space and committing to keeping it clean (I try to clean my room at least once a week) was sort of that first step to bringing me out of how bad it was for me, so it's often something I recommend for a friend if they tell me about that kind of situation. I don't have a lot, my room is very small, but I try to keep things off my desk (for the most part) and have designated spaces for everything, but as I'm looking around a couple bags and binders are thrown on the floor. So my room's usual state is "a little messy, but not that bad"

It could probably do with a bit of a clean-up right now, but it's tidy enough and usually is.

professor plum January 26th, 2021 7:55 AM

our house generally stays tidy for the most part - we probably don't vacuum and dust as much as we should, but beyond that, it's generally ~in place~.

Fairy January 26th, 2021 10:06 AM

Listen, I got a lot of animals that constantly shed and roll in dirt, we do the best we can. :p

Our house is generally clean everytime, just when some unexpected guests visit.

Morika January 29th, 2021 1:35 PM

I keep my home very clean and organized all the time, I find housework very relaxing.

Sonata January 29th, 2021 3:03 PM

Relatively clean. I have a few dishes in the sink and I haven't dusted in months, but there's not anything glaringly bad like clothes tossed around or a blown out toilet.

gah i wish i had this trait. it does get easier the cleaner your house gets, but it's the big leap from doing nothing to everything that puts me off.

My apartment is quite clean because I'm a neat freak. I tidy up about 15-30 minutes each day so it doesn't get too cluttered. I find vacuuming and cleaning in general rather relaxing.

Admittedly, I do have this one pile of clothes that's in limbo where it's too clean to be tossed into the hamper and too dirty to be placed back in my dresser. I wore the clothes for a few hours and I'm wanting to wear them once more before throwing them into the wash. That's probably the only clutter I have.

Mostly house clean every time. Babies eat food and they throw their packaging they're on the floor which makes the home dirty. So, use dustbin and detergent to clean their house.

I enjoy living in a very clean place. That said, due to the many animals and our newborn and my husband and I being very tired, the house can get out of hand. I'd say it's still quite clean, given the circumstances. I'm constantly straightening up and cleaning and fixing things here and I there as well so it makes it easier to maintain.

If my house is too dirty or cluttered (and my idea of dirty and cluttered is probably quite a bit less than other people's), I get really depressed and anxious and can't focus. My grandmother, whom we lived with when I was a kid/teen, was always a neat freak. Her house was "serial killer levels of clean", as I called it.

Caite-chan November 30th, 2021 12:01 AM

I wouldn't say it's nasty dirty in a way but a lot of things are still in the same spot almost 5 years later after we moved...lol.

Sothis November 30th, 2021 9:34 PM

We moved in with my brother and considering it's 3 family members in a two bedroom house, it's as good as it's going to get.

The basement is a cellar type thing that's only accessible from outside, so we get forest friends in there at times.

ZeoStar November 30th, 2021 10:30 PM

Our house stays generally clean. There isn't much around that could mess it up. Incidentally, our cat knows how to open the door in which we store the cat food. She tears a hole into the bag and makes a mess. We've had to take the food and place it into a large enclosed container.

ReKoil December 1st, 2021 9:47 AM

Ehh, how do I describe it.... it's both clean and a mess at the same time? 😅
Like... it could be cleaner, and is rather disorganised, but I wouldn't call it filthy or unclean.

Ended up voting 'a bit dumpy'
