I'm starting to feel old because I get a lot of the references in Family Guy...and someone my age shouldn't because they're all from the 70s and 80s <_<;

Squeegee Beckenheim August 7th, 2005 11:56 AM

Don't feel bad. I understand a lot of the comedy from Scooby Doo, and most of that was 60's/70's. I do not feel old...

I just don't feel hip with the era.

obelisk-kun August 7th, 2005 12:05 PM

realy I like scooby doo the flinstones and the jetsons and those are all old I don't feel old

Mr Cat Dog August 7th, 2005 12:07 PM

Scooby Doo doesn't use pop culture to make its "comedy". Family Guy's comedy is nearly all pop culture. Nearly anyone can laugh at Scooby Doo (well.... I say can, I wouldn't personally as the jokes are corny) but only those who understand the pop culture can laugh at Family Guy.

Cybex Mewtwo August 7th, 2005 12:11 PM

bleh...never liked scooby...couldn't stand any versions except for the ones with special guests like the 3 stooges and batman/robin...

Squeegee Beckenheim August 7th, 2005 12:19 PM

I will try to watch Family Guy tonight. I will see how much of the Pop Culture I can grasp from it. My guess 45% of it.

Chairman Kaga August 7th, 2005 12:53 PM

I saw some freaky spinoff early in the morning one day called Thirteen Ghosts and Scooby Doo...among SD spinoffs, it had to be the worst I'd ever seen, but I was really tired when I watched it, so I don't remember any more of it o_O

Squeegee Beckenheim August 7th, 2005 1:01 PM

Yeah there were a few stupid spinoffs. Most of which very stupid

I remember that it was stupid for scooby doo

Chairman Kaga August 7th, 2005 1:38 PM

I've also seen some very odd one-hour SD specials that have celebrity guest stars from the 1970s...half of them have the Harlem Globetrotters o_O

Squeegee Beckenheim August 7th, 2005 3:04 PM

Yeah back in the day the celebs Scooby Doo had were big time celebs.

Mr Cat Dog August 8th, 2005 12:05 AM

I remember when Scooby Doo teamed up with Batman and Robin. I missed the end, but there was something about defeating Penguin and Joker.

Squeegee Beckenheim August 8th, 2005 3:58 AM

Trust me you did not miss much.

Cybex Mewtwo August 8th, 2005 4:18 AM

I remember the Harlem Globetrotters...they messed with the bald one...
"Hey...is that HAIR on your head!?"
"Huh...Where?!"
"Oh. Looks like you vollenteered!"
Feel bad for him...and...did anyone like Charlie Brown?

Squeegee Beckenheim August 8th, 2005 4:25 AM

I loved Charlie Brown! It still comes on in the Holiday season in the US. I enjoy watching them. It brings back fond memories.

Cybex Mewtwo August 8th, 2005 4:54 AM

Once again...I think oposite of you...never loved any thing from Chalie Brown...not a thing...not even Snoopy or Woodstock.....nothing...thought it was an annoying show...the only thing I liked about Charlie Brown was the spoof on Robot Chicken...

Squeegee Beckenheim August 8th, 2005 5:11 AM

Charlie Brown has a big part of my heart. I love it.

Cybex Mewtwo August 8th, 2005 5:14 AM

my mom loved snoopy out of them all...she was a diehard fan...

Midori Chi August 8th, 2005 5:34 AM

Charlie Brown? Meh, it's pretty good! ^^

Squeegee Beckenheim August 8th, 2005 6:27 AM

I am not a diehard fan, just a lover. What do you all think about the Winx Club and Totally Spies? They are shows more reserved for girls, but it is not just for girls.

EmeraldSky August 8th, 2005 6:55 AM

It's a tradition of ours to watch the Christmas Peanuts special every year...

In other news, do you guys have any Disney or Looney Tunes requests for me?

Chairman Kaga August 8th, 2005 7:44 AM

Winx Club is a little indecent for a show targeted at girls so young, it makes Totally Spies seem modest and chaste <_<;

I've always loved the Charlie Brown cartoons....can't remember many of them because a certain crappy network that begins with N and ends with ickelodeon stopped showing them years ago. They were always gentile, clean, and had a good amount of wit for a children's show. And I identified with Charlie Brown because we were both losers ._.;

Mr Cat Dog August 8th, 2005 7:45 AM

Totally Spies is for people too young to rot their brains out with MTV.
Winx Club, I haven't seen before.

Midori Chi August 8th, 2005 8:12 AM

I'm a girl, so I love Winx Club!
As for Totally Spies..Let's just say Totally Spies totally sux..They're trying to make the show like anime..(with the sweatdrops and such) It's not working..

Squeegee Beckenheim August 8th, 2005 8:39 AM

I don't have much love for the two shows. I watch them when I am dead bored, but never for complete entertainment.
