Umbreon

I have umbreon with 255 EV in defense and sp. defense. And with Sp. def IV-31, with relaxed nature(+defense -speed).The only thing i need help with is what his attacks should be.Any suggestion for good moveset for my umbreon?
I'm thinking:
Double team
Toxic
Baton Pass
????
Is that good moveset?

Squarewalker August 4th, 2005 9:17 AM

Never use Double Team, not even in-game. It's too luck related and stuff.
Anyway, you wasted 4 EVs, which you could have put into hp, but oh well.
Maybe try: Taunt/Toxic, Wish, Baton Pass, Mean Look.

I hope this will help.

Synchronize August 4th, 2005 9:43 AM

here's mine; made to support/stall:
Umbreon @ Leftovers ** Shadow <irony>UmbreonShadow uses Umbreon named Shadow</irony>
EVs: 244 HP/176 Def/90 Sp. Def
DV: 00 Spd
Relaxed
-Baton Pass
-Substitute
-Wish
-Protect/Pursuit/Mean Look
I found the EVs and DV at a random source, and its pretty good. Originally had Mean look for Trap Passing, then I figured Protect was better to help wish. Pursuit was there when low HP Gyarados kept coming in ><. Also did a number on switching Gengars/Zams (22 Kills with that move lol). Anyways, it can mostly take a hit, make a sub(with Decent HP btw), take most hits while keeping the sub, and pass it. Or you can just do some wish passing. whats funny is seeing how some ppl try to switch to non-fighting physical moves in hope to do more damage. But with the EVs and Nature, they usually wind up doing less lol. I also heard taunt was good for phazers.

Thanks.I battled with ubreon in battle factory the other day and he had the following attacks:
Double team
Curse
Double edge
Baton pass
with leftovers and it was strong!

Espy Psyche August 4th, 2005 10:12 AM

This is my favorite Umbry moveset:
Faint Attack
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Mean Look

Umbry makes an awesome toxistaller due to its uber defenses. I don't use it due to its low attack stats though--i am an attacker not a defender, even though my name says otherwise...
Mean Look may be replaced with moonlight/wish to recover HP.

Synchronize August 4th, 2005 10:27 AM

Well, when ur through attacking, come to the Dark side of Stalling, and put Taunt/Baton Pass over Faint Attack.

Stop rating teams while you're at it.

BTW, just use chaosbreon

§ Bleep § August 4th, 2005 2:30 PM

chaosbreon: taunt, batonpass, moonlight, meanlook

thats the most useful anyways.

leafgreen386 August 6th, 2005 5:17 PM

Wish>Moonlight

I hate character limits.

jc_rcw August 6th, 2005 5:38 PM

i like
toxic
confuse ray
wish
baton pass
I never use umbreon though

leafgreen386 August 6th, 2005 5:39 PM

Toxic and Confuse Ray serve no purpose on that set. Nice try, but no.

How does this do anything? I guess you trap, taunt, and then baton pass to an attacker or at least something that can do some damage. Moonlight if against a heavy hitter. But still the Faint Umbry is more effective against sub users.

Insanity Mawile August 10th, 2005 10:37 AM

All of you except for Bleep and Golden Groudon phail. End of discussion.

Chaosbreon is the best one to use, yes. With Perish Song Celebi and good prediction gg muthaf*cka. (down with swear filter)

Golden Groudon August 10th, 2005 10:50 AM

What about A.Coz?

25 char sucks

Hi Mawile. Wish is more useful than Moonlight so you can heal whoever you're passing to. End of discussion.

So, why aren't you coming back to GF?

Golden Groudon August 12th, 2005 8:49 AM

Are you someone I know? hehehe

Shining Lericon August 12th, 2005 10:56 AM

Here is a good Umbreon I thought up of not too long ago:

[email protected]
Wish/Moonlight
Toxic
Baton Pass/Protect/Substitute/Mean Look
Snatch

If you are using Pokemon NetBattle, this would make a good(and a surprising!) Blissey Counter. STRATEGY: Use Toxic first. If Toxic hits, be prepared to Snatch away at Aromatherapy and Softboiled. Remember to pack a Fire and/or Electric moves for Skarmory on one of your other Pokemon. You might want Protect or Sub over Baton Pass in case of Seismic Toss, and possibly Mean Look so Bliss can't escape. If you are playing on a cartridge, go with the following:

[email protected]
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Mean Look
Protect/Wish/Moonlight

EDIT; I haven't tested any of the movesets above. I don't play NB.

Golden Groudon August 12th, 2005 12:19 PM

That set fails.

25 char.

jc_rcw August 12th, 2005 12:43 PM

why snatch?
(25 characters)

Why would anyone use Umbreon as a Blissey counter? Anyway, Mean Look is kinda pointless without Baton Pass because Umbreon doesn't have the staying power to trap a pokemon and stay in; it needs to switch out to a counter, which means that Mean Look and Baton Pass can't be options over each other.
Why Snatch? There are pokemon that can use Snatch way more effectively... like Dusclops for example.

Basically, I just don't see how that set can work effectively in general.

jc_rcw August 13th, 2005 1:19 PM

I know about other pokemon using anatch, but why umbreon, It has no power.

That, I believe, is the point. The set won't work.

husk1442 August 13th, 2005 6:33 PM

if you want to counter blissey use taunt instead of snatch
t-wave would screw you though

since blissey would S toss until you had to use moon light and then it would aromatherapy and then softboiled while you toxic, at best if you are lucky that set will stall blissey out of aromatherapy's

chaosbreon or a wish passer are the way to go

Espy Psyche August 16th, 2005 11:39 AM

In 2v2 battles it gains a new purpose:assistant. Any Eevee can have Helping Hand, and when partnered with another Eevee, it can deal devastating damage.
Umbry can be partnered with Espy and have Helping Hand, Mean Look, Charm, and Wish/Moonlight. Charm is there to cover Espy's low DEF while Espy sweeps everyone. Mean Look keeps the Charms in place. Helping Hand makes Espy's 00ber Psychic even better. Moonlight/Wish heals Umbry to keep it alive to do the same assist on other Eevees and other low DEF sweepers.

Espy/Umbry vs Snorlax/Skarmory
Espy uses Reflect.
Umbry uses Charm on Snorlax.
Snorlax uses a now wimpy Body Slam/Return on Espy.
Skarmory uses Spikes.

Espy uses Morning Sun and recovers to full health.
Umbry uses Mean Look on Snorlax.
Snorlax uses a wimpy Body Slam/Return on Espy.
Skarmory uses Spikes again.

Umbry uses Charm on Snorlax.
Espy uses Morning Sun.
Snorlax counters with a very wimpy Return.
Skarmory use Spikes a third time.

Now attack with assisted Psychic. It has no power to kill you with so you have all the time in the world(plus three more Morning Sun PP). Umbry might Charm it again, and without Fire Blast, it has no power.

This is a specialized battle scenario, created by me to illustrate the potential power of this partnership. Espy has the e4 Espy moveset, Psychic, HP Ice, Morning Sun, and Reflect.

Insanity Mawile August 16th, 2005 1:38 PM

Except Lax would curse up from the get-go, and Skarm would eventually roar.
