My analysis of Sons of Anarchy: "tis good". |

It's interesting because then you kinda start asking questions. Like: Why don't Superheroes use their powers to make society better? Why do they only spring into action when the status quo is in danger and why are they only concerned about restoring it? Why do villains have such a desire to change things for the better with so many good ideas only to suddenly do something so insanely evil and brutal like killing tons of innocents? |

Somebody’s asking the real questions. |

sounds like a good premise for a story tbh |

It's been a while since I've seen a movie that didn't have some forced Deus Ex Machina that makes no sense in it somewhere. Can't recall one on the spot lol Then again I don't really watch all that many movies anymore xD |

I think the answer to those questions is basically only simplicity. You can't make a very complex story in a 2-hour movie. So you need an obvious villain and an obvious good guy. Plus there is probably a bit of cynism in it: "people are stupid so let's make a simple story". Also, besides superheroes, most protagonists seek some kind of vengeance (it's basically the only characterisation of the protagonists of the videogames by Ubisoft lol) because it's easiest way to define a motivation that everyone can relate to. Person of Interest is a much better Batman story than Batman, fite me |
240 909
Pretty sure I've seen episodes of that show, but I don't really remember much from it. |

I don't know that show but The Batman has been a firm favourite :O |

it's made by the brother of the Nolan who directed the Batman trilogy. essentially it's about a rich guy (Bruce Wayne+Alfred+Lucius Fox equivalent) who created an AI who watches everyone ever through all networked cameras and mics. he gave the AI to the government to predict and prevent "relevant" terrorist attacks but he still wants to help the average person too because sad stuff has happened. so he enlists a sad ex-CIA fighter to help him prevent "non-relevant" violent crimes (the Batman equivalent, but instead of having bats as a hobby his hobby is to stalk people and shoot them in their kneecaps). this gets the attention of a cool cop (the Jim Gordon equivalent) and she doesn't like kneecaps being shot and people stalked, and they have a cat and rat chase for a bit. then shit goes down for real and it becomes more like Westworld with an AI war and stuff, it's cool. |

I feel like I've heart that premise a couple times already. ^^" |

but has it been done Well |

I… I think I may have watched a film that had a similar… AI? Only thing that seems to pop out of my mind is the scene where a plethora of random citizens have red targets on them (viewed through a screen/monitor) and are supposedly targeted because they may be of danger in the future. Based off some algorithm. I forgot the film that was from. |

Pretty sure you weren't on the final page =3 I used to watch TV a lot, but it phased out more and more once I got a computer =P |
240 917
what is this 'TV' that you speak of I haven't watched 'real TV' in ages, ever since I started using Netflix and HBO and other such apps. I only use them. It's been what, a decade now or so? |
240 918
I've paid Netflix for maybe 7 years now, and for 6 years, I haven't watched it XD My brother and sister are watching it, so I'm not wasting money. ^^" |
HBO is my favorite streaming service.

Here in the UK you need a licence to watch any form of live TV and I refuse to have one anymore, therefore, I watch none! Happy belated Christmas to all my FG fam, I hope you all had a good one! I also want to wish each and every one of you the very, very, best for 2023 <3 240 920. |
240 921
I'm not a fan of shows and rarely get into them. As a result I don't have subscriptions to any streaming service and therefore no subscription fees to pay. But I'm fairly dependent on Youtube for any sort of entertainment as a result. ^^" |
