Pokedex Match!

Welcome one and all to Pokedex Match, the game that tests your knowledge of Pokedex entries! Can you name the Pokemon just by its Pokedex entry?

Here's how the game works:

I will give you a Pokedex entry, plus the version the entry comes from, and you, the players, must guess the Pokemon.

Example:

"He raises his tail to check its surroundings. The tail is sometimes struck by lightning in this pose." (Silver)

Answer: Pikachu

However...you can't cheat by looking it up in your game. and you cannot guess more than three times.

Scoring:

First guess: 3 points
Second guess: 2 points
Third guess: 1 point

The first person to 30 points wins!

That said, here comes your first entry!

"He is cool, calm, and collected, and never panics under any situation. If a bigger foe were to glare at him, he would glare right back without conceding an inch of ground." (Sapphire)

Sneasel 2 August 19th, 2005 8:49 AM

EmeraldSky August 19th, 2005 9:10 AM

First off, you double posted and second of all, you didn't even make a guess.

Murpheos August 19th, 2005 9:28 AM

No guesses need here, the answer is...TREECKO

EmeraldSky August 19th, 2005 9:44 AM

Treecko is correct!

Next one:

"He runs faster than the human eye can follow. The friction from running is converted into electricity, which is then stored in his fur." (Sapphire)

Murpheos August 19th, 2005 7:26 PM

I nearly thought it was Maectric, but the answer is Electrike

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 4:36 AM

You're absolutely correct!

Next one:

"The bubble-like pattern on her stomach helps her camouflage herself when she's in the water." (Crystal)

Smarties-chan August 20th, 2005 4:39 AM

The only pokemon with a bubble pattern on its stomach is azumarill.

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 5:59 AM

^

That's right!

Next one:

"She fluffs out her fur collar to cool down her body temperature, which can reach 1,650 degrees." (Silver)

T3hCoM August 20th, 2005 6:23 AM

Is the answer Flareon?

I hope I'm correct!

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 6:47 AM

^

You sure are!

Next one:

"By reading air currents, she can predict things such as the weather or her foe's next move." (Silver)

RSL August 20th, 2005 9:03 AM

Espeon, it has the highest Special Attack of any Johto Poey at the same level.

Suki August 20th, 2005 9:48 AM

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 11:12 AM

Espeon is correct.

Leaderboard after this entry:

"They live in ponds and lakes, where they float on the surface. He grows weak if his broad leaf dies. On rare occasions, he travels on land in search of clean water." (Ruby)

Alter Ego August 20th, 2005 11:24 AM

That would be Lotad. Yup, I'm pretty sure it's Lotad, even though the character limit may not agree with me. *Grumbles* Stupid 25 character minimum.

Suki August 20th, 2005 11:26 AM

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 1:08 PM

We need more players...

Alter Ego August 20th, 2005 1:10 PM

What we need is more questions, young one. What is the next one?

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 2:24 PM

Continuing on!

"A POKéMON that enjoys flying. She uses her broad wings to adroitly catch the wind to soar elegantly into the sky." (Stadium)

Alter Ego August 20th, 2005 2:26 PM

That, my young and able-bodied aquintance, is nothing more or less than a Fearow, one of the few pokémon able to maintain flight without resting in between.

EmeraldSky August 20th, 2005 6:58 PM

Yeah!

Next one:

"He intimidates enemies with the eyelike patterns on his antennas. He flaps his four wings to freely fly in any direction - even sideways and backwards - as if he were a helicopter." (Ruby)

.::Tsunami::. August 20th, 2005 9:41 PM

That's it!

Next one:

"Her streamlined body has little drag in water. The colder the temperature, the friskier she gets." (Gold)

Alter Ego August 21st, 2005 10:48 AM

That would be Dewgong...unless I am wrong.

EmeraldSky August 21st, 2005 12:02 PM

Correct again!

Next one:

"She dances and wheels through the sky among billowing, cotton-like clouds. By singing melodies in her crystal-clear voice, she makes her listeners experience dreamy wonderment." (Ruby)
