2.
The Houndour line are commonly used by evil teams whenever it is available in their main regions’s rosters. It was definitely a needed addition to Platinum alongside the Magmar line. |
1.
Its line has wrongfully been excluded from the Sinnoh dex in BDSP. |
0.
Although not a part of the Dex you could still catch a Houndoom in the Grand Underground in BDSP early on, around the second badge iirc. Edit: Yep, right before the second badge. Anyway, Houndour is discarded. Time for the horndog: https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/houndoom.gif 10. |
11.
I shall vote Houndoom up. |
12
Likes Houndoom, despite not being big on dog Pokemon. |
13.
Idc about Houndoom, it's just there for me. |
14.
Houndoom has high Special Attack. |
15.
They gave it a Mega in gen 6. |
16.
Its Mega has Solar Power. I would've given it a different ability. |
17. Cool dog
|
18.
It's used by Archer and Karen in the Johto games. |
19.
Female Houndoom have shorter horns. |
20.
Houndoom is one of the few special-orientated Dark-types worth using. Tyranitar is also serviceable prior to the physical/special split. One was even nice to Misty’s Togepi in one episode of the anime. And with the Johto doggo safe, it is now time to judge… Kingdra! https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/kingdra.gif 10. |
11.
Kingdra is going up. |
12.
Water/Dragon is a good typing. |
13.
It shares the Water/Dragon combo with Palkia, Dracovish, and the new Sushi Pokémon; Tatsugiri. |
14.
Seadra should've been Water/Dragon too imo |
15.
Dragon-types should have had a couple of damaging moves that dealt super effective damage other than the fixed Dragon Rage, which would get culled in later generations. |
16.
I would've introduced Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, and Dual Chop earlier. |
17.
Although normally a held item trade evo, in the Isle of Armor DLC you can catch a wild Kingdra in the Honeycalm Sea during a Thunderstorm. |
18.
In GSC, Clair's Kingdra was annoying to deal with. |
19.
Kingdra was the only new Dragon type Pokemon in gen 2. |
20.
Kingdra has been saved. Phanpy is next. https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/phanpy.gif 10. |
11.
Phanpy returned for Paldea. |
12.
I can live with voting Phanpy up. |
13.
The only, but still reliable, Ground-type attack it could use for a while was Earthquake. Not that most would be running Magnitude or anything. |
14.
It should've gotten moves like Magnitude and Mud Shot in its level-up movepool in earlier generations. Even if those moves are better suited for early game. |
15.
Phanpy's pretty cute. |
16.
Ash Ketchum got a Phanpy. |
17.
Had Rollout been a Ground-type attack, Phanpy and Donphan would be absolute early game units against those not airborne or levitating. |
18.
It can get High Horsepower via Egg moves. |
19.
It evolves at level 25. |
|
11.
I'll vote it up for sure. |
12.
Donphan has two Paradox variants. The past variant is known as “Great Tusk”, a Ground/Fighting-type. The future variant is known as “Iron Treads”, a Ground/Steel-type. |
13.
It's HA is Sand Veil. |
14.
Good to see it in the Paldea dex after not being included in any other regional dex after Hoenn. |
15.
Donphan shares its category with Tyranitar. They are both known as the Armor Pokémon. |
16.
Donphan has high Attack and Defense. |
17.
It learns Fire & Thunder Fang. |
18.
It can also learn Ice Shard. |
19.
From Gen V onwards, Sturdy allows it to survive hard-hitting special hits. |
20. Saved!
Now, Porygon2! No introductions needed! 10. |
11.
https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/porygon2.gif It is a very good wall in VGC thanks to Eviolite, the Bolt Beam combo, Trick Room, and of course, Recover. |
12.
And it's cute. |
13.
Shouldn't that be a 12 above me? 10 -> 11 -> 13 I like Porygon2. |
14.
It didn’t particularly need an evolution, but the fact that it did anyways gives it Eviolite privileges. |
15.
Good and cute. I don't like its canon evolution, but I do enjoy seeing fans come up with their own upgrades - like Porygon-WES from Xenoverse. |
16.
It has a cute cry. |
17.
This line is the only line that requires 2 consecutive trade evolutions to get to the final stage. |
18.
It's a real shame that it requires two consecutive trades to get to its final form. Fortunately, Porygon2 can stand well enough on its own until Game Freak gives it the "correct" evolution. |
17.
Never liked or cared for Porygon2 or the entire Porygon line. |
18.
Maybe one day Porygon2 can succeed what it was designed to do: Perform cosmic tasks. |
19
I honestly really like it! |
20. And thus it's saved!
Next up, a Pokémon that couldn't be more appropriate for the upcoming season: Stantler! 10. |
9.
I'm going to vote Stantler down. It's one of my least favourite Pokemon. |
8.
It got an evolution in Legends: Arceus, though it remains to be seen how Wyrdeer fares competitively. Like Girafarig, both gain large HP upon evolution. At least Agility exists |
7.
This line should've been designed with the beta deer in mind. Especially their mouths. |
6.
Intimidate can be handy for Mono Normal playthroughs in Johto and Paldea. For the latter, though, Staraptor is in the roster. |
5.
Staravia and Staraptor have a much better design and typing. |
4.
I don't really dislike it, but it's not a mon I'm gonna fight for. |
3.
I've grown to hate Stantler because it annoyed me in the Gen 2 games and ROM hacks. |
2.
In BDSP it's a version exclusive to SP. |
1.
The Deering line are worthwhile deer Pokémon. |
0.
Discarded. The painter dog is next: https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/smeargle.gif 10. |
11.
It was a menace with Dark Void before the move got obscenely nerfed in Sun/Moon. |
12.
I think Smeargle is cute. |
13.
It is bad offensively, but good at setting up. It is one of the fastest Spore users you can use, and the only user as such to set up hazards, remove them, set up stat boosts, and then pass them on through Baton Pass to beef up your teammate. |
14.
I like this dum-dum dog. It's still a much better graffiti Mon than Grafaiai. Ilima's Smeargle nearly beat me in US/UM too. |
15.
Its highest stat is its Speed. Its other stats are low. |
16. Perhaps the greatest support Pokémon of all time because it can have almost any moveset that you choose and the ability Moody is tons of fun.
|
17.
Moody is flat out busted, but Smeargle is a great user with that Ability. |
18.
Xenoverse gave it a Fairy-type X variant based on a pastry chef. It's so cute! 😭 Just don't let it near a Xenolith, or you'll regret it. Spoiler:
|
19
|
20. Doggo saved!
Next up, Tyrogue! Also known as Baby Hitmon. 10. |
9
Don't really like him. :s |
8
Too humanlike and terrible moves. |
9. He's the baby in the legendary Hitmon family and he doesn't have terrible moves. The key is to breed him for good egg moves and then evolve him so your new Hitmon can have good, unique moves they normally can't learn.
|
8.
I dislike the way it evolves mainly. |
7.
It is tricky to ensure Tyrogue has the right EV/IV distribution to get the specific Hitmon you desire. Sometimes, I wish improved breeding mechanics were applied before Dexit, as some of Hitmontop’s best moves to fully capitalise on its Technician Ability can only be acquired via breeding. |
6.
There are ROM hacks in which its evolution method is replaced with something less frustrating. |
5.
Tyrogue is the only Pokémon whose evolution is determined by stats. |
4.
Trying to get Hitmontop is obnoxious. |
3.
Tyrogue can be obtained from the Karate King, although I would have personally preferred him to be found in a cavern that didn’t require Waterfall. |
2.
This entire line is male only. |
1.
Its line returned in Galar, but not in Paldea. |
|
Thanks goodness you people discarded Tyrogue, I hate them in Sw/Sh so much lol
11. Hitmontop is my favourite of the Hitmons because it's the least human-like of all of them. It kinda looks like a funny bear. |
12.
I like it. But oh man, it's almost unusable in Gen 2. Even in story mode. This is coming from someone who used Umbreon, which can hardly attack at all. |
13
My favorite hitmon! |
14.
My least favorite Hitmon, but I'll just go with the flow on this one. |
15. Intimidate is always a great ability in competitive battles and Fake Out is always a great move in competitive Doubles!
|
16.
It can take advantage of Rapid Spin speed boosts whenever it clears entry hazards in battle. |
17.
Hitmontop is cute. |
18.
They should've given either a Hitmontop or Heracross to Chuck in the Johto games. |
19.
It can be taught Triple Axel to deal with Dragons and Flying-types, even breaking through those holding a Focus Sash. |
20.
Hitmontop is safe now. Smoochum is next. https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/smoochum.gif 10. |
9.
Nooooo no no no no no. I'm just as hostile towards this one as I am towards her evolution. |
8
Dislikes most of the baby Pokemon. Is no exception. |
9
I like it! One of the cuter babies. |
