Move Set tactic that I want to experiment with

i remember when i was playing colosseum and was annoyed by dakim's earthquake/protect strategy the first time i played him. i'm considering expanding on that concept.

what do you think?

(Double Battle team, obviously)
-Exploud
Earthquake
Protect
Hyper Voice
Rest

-Gyarados
Earthquake
Surf
Rain Dance
Thunder

-Cradily
Earthquake
Protect
Rock Slide
Giga Drain

-Glalie
Earthquake
Protect
Icy Wind
Water Pulse

-Claydol
Earthquake
Psychic
Light Screen
Explosion (SURPRISE!!!)

-Salamence
Earthquake
Dragonbreath
Rock Slide
Brick Break

If you want to do something like that use Gyarados/Rhydon. Not only is Gyarados immune to EQ, Rhydon has Lightningrod to give it immunity to its biggest weakness.

Remove the Exploud. Think about it. Once you rest, your Exploud will be HELPLESS to your own Earthquakes. Also, think about changing the Gyarados's moveset to build off its superior Attack power. By using Rain Dance instead of Dragon Dance, you're screaming "THUNDER ME!!"

Also, by using Protect/Earthquake, you're actually limiting yourself. With only one Pokemon attacking a turn, you're putting yourself at a severe disadvantage; one that the opponent could exploit by stating up or inflicting status.

Totally agrees with this. Take out Gyaragos' Rain Dance and replace wiht Dragon Dance. Use Dragon Dance once or twice then Earthquake.

um...nothin' agains earthquake but all your pokemon shouldn't have it.

I'm no expert here but for gyarados you should stick to physical attacks.
try this for him

Earthquake (since you like it so much)
Dragon Dance
Facade
Rock Slide (um...don't remember if it can learn this from a move tutor.)

but if your'e playing emerald take him to one of those old ladies and if you
have enough BP's you can have him learn it. or um..Thunderwave I'm pretty
it can learn that from a move tutor.
depending on which one it can learn, i'd go for thunderwave over rock slide.

for the next pokemon, Cradily

I know that thing has solid defenses
I recommend breeding one and EV training to be a tank type thing.

try this move set

@left overs
toxic
leech seed
confuse ray
counter/protect

that aught to be really annoying to face.
I wouldn't worry too much about losing giga drain since
leech seed and left overs can take are of you there, just remember
to really concentrate on this things defenses.
if you want it to be an attacker, you can always replace
confuse ray and counter/protect
for either
Rocklide and sandstorm
or
Sunny day & Solar Beam

I think the sunny beamer is the better once.
not so fast ofa pokemon but tough to get past 'cuz of the annoyiness of
it's moves.

My last recomendation is for Salamence
GREAT POKEMON THERE

dump dragon breath
for Dragon Dance and you're pretty much set.

here's mine, it's my dragon team starter.

Protect
Dragon Dance
Rock Slide
Brick Break

the only dragons you'll have to worry about are probably Kingdra
and Altaria since they both have decent defenses.
Altaria will be weak to rock slide but it's defenses are kinda rock solid.
but 1 or 2 hits from rock slide should take it out, that is assuming you've trained your salamance to be a physical sweeper.

anyway, you team seems ok
you may want to tweek the members a bit since a few still have
far too many common weaknesses.

you have a 3x weakness to rock and a 3x weakness to fighting.

anyway, the point of this was to rate it wasn't it.

um...5/10 'cuz I like that not all your team is OVERUSED pokemon.
so points for originality.
but it still needs some work.

I'm going to laugh.

Facade? Why? You only use Facade if you think you're gonna get status, and status will kill Gyarados. That's why most go with Taunt. Rock Slide is good, but if you go with Hidden Power Flying, you can reap the benifits of STAB.

That... is not good. Cradily doesn't even LEARN Leech Seed. Not only that, but Cradily is a horrible attacker. It's not a sweeper. It's not even a tank. Its primary function is to stand still and take hits. The best moves for Cradily are Toxic, Barrier, Amnesia, and Rest. Taken from Gamefaqs, yes, but I can't think of anything better. It destroys things without a Hazer/Steel/Poison type.

Why in the blazes does this Salamence have Protect? Protect may be good, but not in this case.
