Legendary Latios

I heard of this theory to find latios on serebii.net cause I am having trouble. I did Beat the elite 4, talk to mom about color and saw it on tv. Can you find it by using the acro bike and bouncing on the grassy part using a max repel and leaving something on the b button so it will hold. Is this true? Is there any other strategies for finding latios?

Hi, I am new here and I don't know where to put this post so this should be good because it's about "pokemon general" isn't it. If i'm not in the right place please don't be rude and just close it.

wishirulz August 27th, 2005 1:58 PM

no go on pokedex and if you see it and it runs click to see its next location

Luxer06 August 27th, 2005 1:59 PM

no i have never seen it yet i am trying to find it first then i can use my masterball but i can't find it yet

Luxer06 August 27th, 2005 2:00 PM

are you saying that this theory does not work???

The Fallen August 27th, 2005 2:24 PM

I closed the one earlier cause it was in the wrong place and I had answered your question. Please do not double post, that's a gimmie rule. We have an edit button, use that if you forgot to say something.

Secondly Im not entirely sure if that theory indeed works. I just walk around and hope to find him. So you should do that. He'll pop up eventually.

Also we have a gaming section above this so it would make more sense to post it there. I'll move it over there for you. All gaming related questions go in Pokemon Handheld Games.

it's random...just walk till you find it

Simon August 27th, 2005 3:23 PM

From what, I've read. It sounds like it could work. I've never tried it before though. When you bounce, it doesn't count as an actual step, but it can still put you into a wild battle if you're bouncing in the grass. Bounce+Max Repel=Endless Max Repel.

So yes, this could work, but only if you happen to know what route [email protected] is on. If you're bouncing on a route [email protected] isn't on, you won't find it.

SRV August 27th, 2005 4:02 PM

Yes this does work. My brother has tried it on his Ruby version. This is in the Ruby/Sapphire FAQ by the way.

VanirElf August 27th, 2005 4:22 PM

that theory thing doesn't work, it just shows up in random areas.
after you tell you mom the color .

my advice is just save your master ball so when it does show up, you won't have to be chasing it around.

We know it shows up in random areas at first, but it can only move to adjacent routes which makes it trackable. Once you're on the same route as the [email protected], you can use the bounce thing. So long as you don't move into a different area, the [email protected] will stay in the same route.

deoxys and celebi master August 29th, 2005 8:42 AM

actually i read that theory it said that if you bounce in any route he will come but thats not true. Just walk around.

SRV August 29th, 2005 11:22 AM

Yes it is? It just takes a while, except it [email protected] is in the same route. If didn't even try, don't say it doesn't work.

Goblinaro August 29th, 2005 11:29 AM

Well, Here's something that MIGHT work:
Go to the daycare route. If you have it's area in the pokedex, check it's area. If it's not there, go in the daycare and come out. It's area will have changed. Continue to do that until it's in the daycare route, then use a max repel, THEN use the acro bike trick, Find it, then capture it in a masterball. Thats all I can tell you, and good luck! :D

Hi Luxer06! I have the same problem as you; beaten the Elite Four and haven't even seen Latias yet. Still have my Masterball so will use it when I see it. I'm now walking thru EVERY piece of grass in the game. I have caught all the other ones that there are to catch so hope to get it soon.

Champion Taylor September 2nd, 2005 8:08 AM

You can do that with any house on a route and you can just change directions to run into it.

The777Man September 3rd, 2005 10:08 AM

Hi Again!

As I came back to the little grass area close to the southern entrance of the bike path, I walked on every piece of grass and then Latias appeared! Caught it with my masterball! So I guess the theory with the acorbike and max repel may work after all but it won't appear just at your feet, you have to walk in the grass to see where it is.

Caught it yet, Luxer06 ?

I have evolved all the pokemon and I'm done with the game except for breeding some of the pokemon from Colosseum. I will start Firered tonight!

To Find Latias/Latios .......

After U beat elite 4, talk to mom and TV, then u will need to walking around a water route, you can use max repel to prevent wild pokemon to slow down your pokemon.... after u found it once, u can see where is it in the pokedex ^^

x-treme scripter September 19th, 2005 7:26 AM

Can you catch both of them?

poke dude167 September 20th, 2005 7:59 PM

if u want to find latios u need to be swift, because almost every time u go to a route/town latios changes its position.

no just go on pokedex locate it but don't go inside or it will move to a different location kay^_^

Shiny Meganium September 26th, 2005 7:11 AM

Every time you change route the Lati changes it's route. Also if you enter a house it changes.

That statement is false. I know it for sure.

The Fallen September 28th, 2005 2:36 PM

One thing I did to ease the search is find a spot that it goes to alot and get right in between two routes so you can just take a few steps up to make it change its route. It work out for me pretty well so maybe it'll help you some.

Drifblim September 30th, 2005 6:49 PM

No, the statement is correct — you should check your Pokédex more regularly.

Once you've found Latios, tracking it is easy. Each time you move to an area adjacent to your current area, it moves to an adjacent route. You can use this pattern to arrange a run-in — for example, if Latios is on Route 134 and you're in Mossdeep proper, you can pass through Route 127 and it'll move to 133; you move to 128, it moves to 132; you move to 129, it moves to 131 (it will never be found in a city); you move to 130 and it moves to 130 as well, and at that point you go on Surfing about until it jumps you.
