POKéMON Online!

Hello all, I'm currently creating a POKéMON Online game, but before you scoff and say it's been done before I'd like to say that I am not everyone else =P I believe I have gotten the farthest out of every POKéMON Online game so far and I plan on continuing. My game even allows ANYONE to create their own POKéMON game, rather than having to do hacks of ROMs.

I have released the old editor (awhile ago) and currently I am redoing the editor completely from scratch, which is almost finished:

I think this belongs somewhere else, but I don't know anything about ROMS or creating a game so I don't know. ._. I'll go PM someone now.

Not really a ROM or Game Boy game, so to Other Games.

Yes, and people will be able to create their own servers and POKeMON and such. It'll be quite a nice way to do it as hacks will become not as necessary anymore because of the great power this will provide.

I'm not sure I agree with moving it as it was in POKeMON General, and it DOES deal with POKeMON yet it's in Non-POKeMON discussion o.o

fudge01 February 15th, 2004 11:31 PM

coool but it will be nessary for pokemon hacks still but never make it p2p

Coooooooool

One of the best ideas ever thought of. This is great, I mean being able to create your own pokemon and games, unbelivable. I have a few name ideas:

Pokemon Virtual
Pokemon Online (Plain and simple)
Virtualmon
Intermon
Pokemon internet version
Pokeweb

A new screenshot showing some new features, such as MULTIPLE tilesets in ONE level. That's right, no more having to use one tileset for a level, you can now use any amount of tilesets that you want. There's also the option to turn snapping to grid off, which means that you can lay tiles anywhere (as shown in the screenshot) rather than in the squares per tile size. As you can see I am using two tilesets(well, the ghost isn't a REAL tileset but it's just to test) in one level:

I think this will end up as a great game.
And how long have you been working on this?

Not exactly sure. Not SUPER long but I didn't just start the project yesterday, probably around 6 months or so. I did most of the game engine up and had the old map editor finished but I've scrapped those both in favour of switching to Visual Basic.NET to power it all ^_^;; The .NET versions SHOULD be about 10x faster than the original game/editor.

Avatar February 16th, 2004 10:51 PM

This looks great so far, waiting for the finished version.. keep up the good work.

Daniel-Son February 17th, 2004 11:18 PM

Really great, you know to be honest I don't know how I could of miss this
I mean the words "Pokemon Online" intrest me alot

DeathChill February 18th, 2004 7:19 AM

I have fixed the bug in the editor, which means it's *JUST* about complete. It needs some small additions (adding scripting, adding items, adding POKeMON, etc) that should take a total of a full day or two to complete and than I'll be set to release.

However, everyone needs to have DirectX9 and the .NET framework installed as it's built in Visual Basic.NET, so download those before the editor is out (for those who want to play/build levels).

Good good, the screenshots of the editor is very nice, cant wait to try it and the game out.

Slightly off-topic

Indeed I am from Graal Online, how'd you remember me? From when I was Account Admin or..? o.o I don't remember you..I don't think.

Anyway the editor is quickly progressing, hurrah! This will be the first POKeMON ONLINE to actually FINISH and also the first that will allow players to build their own offline/online POKeMON games that function EXACTLY like the gameboy games.

Skyliner February 18th, 2004 6:22 PM

the pokemon online map dont work..it says its missing a file

Sorye HK February 18th, 2004 8:20 PM

Hey, you're progressing really fast. Are you sure
that someone can't help you get even more faster?
And are you going to use F/G pokemon or the originals?

fudge01 February 18th, 2004 9:07 PM

this game is goner be awsome cant wait ill love mmorpg

Daniel-Son February 18th, 2004 9:40 PM

Has anyone played Runescape?
Will the game be like theres?
Or will it be like the one in my thread?

fudge01 February 18th, 2004 9:45 PM

the game in your thread dont work as soon as you go down stairs it just freezes but this should be much better i like fairyland i hope he finishes soon

DeathChill February 18th, 2004 9:53 PM

I already have a full staff list actually, in fact we already have much of the graphics done and my levels team is waiting on me to finish the editor. The game engine was done but now I'm redoing it from scratch to speed up the engine as I'll need it to be as fast as possible before I attempt to allow people to play ^_^;;

The game also allows anyone to create their own POKeMON game (that uses EVERYTHING from the games, EVERYTHING) so that it's an EXACT clone of the functions the GBA/GB games have. ^_^

fudge01 February 18th, 2004 9:58 PM

hey deathchill how long will it take i wanna play it its gonna be awsome
