Poetry From The Heart

Well, these poems are some of my best, so I hope you like them!

A Stare Not a Glare
By SPon11

Such an elegant shape
Pointed, elf-like ears
The long tail like a cape
There is nothing it fears

Out in the daytime
Sleeping in the night
It's voice like a windchime
Such fur...such a sight

The gem on its forehead
Resembles the morning sky
Such a dark, ruby red
It let's out a soft sigh

Its eyes are what capture me
Such an idle stare
It stares at the sea
Not a furious glare

But a soft, soothing, suddle stare

Hoo-hah! I'll do two poems at once!

A Will in the Night
by SPon11

O, the moon is alight
The sun fades away
The stars now have might
The owls astray

As their wings beat
So does their spirit
One thing, indeed
Will always hear it

The spirits all sing
And it will always stay still
"Nothing can withstand
The power of will"

Hey! I can even do 3!

War
by SPon11

The lives are at stake
Some already downed
Survivors have ached
Most diers have drowned

Phew...So...what do ya think?

Kyosuke February 21st, 2004 5:38 PM

I really do like your poetry its feels calming to read them, and please post more.

Hikaru's Twin February 21st, 2004 6:29 PM

Great Poetry SPon11, i love the first one "A stare not a glare" It's beautifully written and the rhyming scheme is excellent...

Sankari February 22nd, 2004 11:52 AM

Thanks, Hikaru's Twin and Liquid Thunder! I made most of these when I was about to go to sleep...I guess it makes sense, because I'm kind of relaxed...Gosh! I made myself tired!

Peace

by SPon11

I dream of a place
Where the soil is healthy
Plants never die
And the people are wealthy

A place where birds sing
Fish jump out of water
A loyal man is king
And has a nice daughter

The reeds bow to the wind
Seaweed waves in the sea
No being has ever sinned
To either you, him, or me

*bows* I just made that one up. Took a bit...

bna_li February 22nd, 2004 11:59 AM

You are good! Write more! MORE!

Sankari February 25th, 2004 5:59 PM

Okay, I updated "War", and changed the name!
The Agony of War
by SPon11
The lives are at stake
Some already downed
Survivors have ached
Most diers have drowned

The sky's raining blood
The children all cry
As blood forms a flood
That will surely reach the sky

Survivors never die peacefully
As their souls shall decend
Will this never-ending agony
Ever have an end...?

I love that one...

Kyosuke February 28th, 2004 3:48 AM

I love that one too ^^;.

But seriously, "The agony of War" captures what its like in War in such a short amount of writing and this is definatly an excellent example of quality over quantity great job.

ScArLetSkye February 28th, 2004 5:18 AM

WOW, those poems.....*sniffs* SPon, wow...........

Sankari March 3rd, 2004 11:25 AM

I don't know what else to write! I don't want to put my stupid ones in that don't make any sense.

jmac32here March 3rd, 2004 11:42 AM

Wow...I would love to see work like that on the TNSC FanArt/FanFics pages..even tho they not really FanArt. But of course noone ever visits meh site..altho i spend too much time trying to make it a little better every day. well ill post meh fanfic there..and maybe here..if its ok with the PC mods.

Sankari March 3rd, 2004 11:44 AM

LOL.:D

Okay, I know I'm going online like grandpa, but here's a Mew poem (oh, and 'A Stare Not a Glare' is about an Espeon)

Immortal
Accidently helping one
Thinking it's a game
Just wanting to have some fun
To you, it's all the same

At the strike of danger
You just give off a chortle
You're just a small pink stranger
Except that you're immortal

Heh, heh...I forgot the middle stanza...oh, well...[/arial]

Mew13 May 14th, 2004 4:00 PM

Your poetry is very calming, it reminds me of Robert Frost. I love his works, they are also very sooting to the soul.

~Ozy~ May 14th, 2004 5:11 PM

Yeah, a Frost comparison is quite valid. Yur poetry captures emotion quite well, and it's easy to read. You maintain clarity quite well, nor do you degenerate into sappy lines. Amazingly talented, actually. Might I suggest writing some haiku? I think you'd be good at it.

Sankari May 16th, 2004 9:12 AM

Now I remember the Mew poem...Thanks for the compliments! I've done Haiku, but I like rhyming the best.

Immortal

by Haley Wall (I finally reveal my name)

Accidently helping one
Thinking it's a game
Just wanting to have some fun
To you it's all the same

Having only one feeling
You are always glad
I can't even think of sealing
The way you can't get mad

At times of perilous danger
You just give off a chortle
You're just a small pink stranger
Except that you're immortal

I like your avatar, Liquid Thunder. It's Ken from Super Puzzle Fighter II, right?

Oh, and I forgot how to do Haiku...

~Ozy~ May 16th, 2004 9:19 AM

5-7-5 syllable structure. There's also an alternate format that gos 5-7-5-7-7.

Sankari May 22nd, 2004 7:52 AM

Here you go...

Lightning strikes the trees
The wind's caress is immense
The windstorm is here...

I never really was good at Haiku...

Kyosuke May 22nd, 2004 5:36 PM

Nicely done SPon11, you seem like a really calm person and I can see it in your poems if you are. I like everything that you wrote so far its calming.

And yes it is Ken from Super Puzzle fighter 2 XP.

~Ozy~ May 22nd, 2004 6:56 PM

Actually, that's a good Haiku. They're supposed t invoke a feeling of nature and yours does just that. You did well at a description of the setting, and it leaves the reader with the sensation of a storm.

Sankari June 12th, 2004 12:42 PM

Uh...okay...........................................

Isaac 1 June 12th, 2004 4:29 PM

I love peotry. It always seems to calm the Satorus in me. (Satorus is the villian in Golden Sun 1)

Sankari June 26th, 2004 8:32 AM

Yes, I know who Saturos is...:(

Ha! a fellow golden sun fan!! I'M SO HAPPY.(but no-one is as big a fan as me)

Fuzzy July 19th, 2004 2:32 PM

Wow... all this great poetry is making me want to give it a try again (but from experience that's probably not a good thing)

Sankari July 24th, 2004 12:01 PM

I had horrible poetry when I had such a small vocabulary, but now it's so vast, that I can write a poetry just out of the blue! I'll post some poems on Tuesday.
