Arcanine:
yea ur right. a mixed sweeper probably is better. but i still think HP ground should be there to take care of rock types and is something else i can use w/ howl. also if hes gonna be mixed i have to change the nature and evs too

and the 2 extra evs i had left over wouldnt do anything anyway (4evs = +1 stat). netbattle wont let me anyway since evs will only go up by incraments of 4.

Anyway, thanks ill try it out.

Frostweaver September 15th, 2005 11:33 PM

I think that the Arcanine set is just fine... You already have overheat as the mixed sweeping move. Skarmory won't even try to challenge the moveset. If you use Extremespeed first and then Overheat (but the other way around won't work because you'll get will o wisp), Weezing will fall as well. Of course, it's best if you can avoid Weezing in total for Arcanine, but that's what you can do if you're forced into something like that.

Please consider White Herb as a possible item for Arcanine if you're using Overheat though...

Am I the only one who firmly believes that Sceptile needs leech seed over crunch just to get Blissey? 4 members of this team will be single handedly destroyed by Blissey... Leech seed is always good for using it to catch some definite switches too.

- Double Team ---> Mean Look IMO, that way you can pass to something which actually allows Arcanine to set up, and is also nice with Toxic.
- Moonlight
- Toxic

Physical sweeper:
Arcanine (M) @ Liechi Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Extremespeed
- Hidden Power [Ground] ---> HP Fighting
- Howl
- Overheat

Cloyster (M) @ Leftovers

- Hidden Power Ice
- Leaf Blade

Special sweeper:

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt

Arcanine owns. I've used another set for him myself, as a Choice-Bander/Opener.

Arcanine @ Choice Band
Trait: Intimidate
EV's: 252 Att, bit in Sp. Att, rest in HP or speed
Nature: +Attack, -Def
- Extremespeed
- HP Fighting
- Return/Facade/Aerial Ace
- Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat

Yes, you're absolutely right, doesn't last. You might go more defensive with Adamant nature, other EV's and Overheat, but meh, I like this. I suggest Return and Fire Blast on the last two slots.

HP Fighting > HP Ground, that way you can 4x hit T-Tar

Leech seed scares away Blisseys,or keep them in and have them take it like a ...woman? O.o? But thats what sub is for

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk

You're not the only one Frostweaver,I like Leech Seed>Crunch 'cause

BLISSEYS ARE FREAKIN' ANNOYING!!!

§ Bleep § September 17th, 2005 6:52 PM

no one likes a DTer :(

btw, blisseys are easy to beat -_-

Zootster September 18th, 2005 9:33 AM

I actually haven't ran into a blissey yet. But i rarely use crunch anyway, so it cant hurt to try leech seed. And someone suggested curse for Umbreon. That might work for some teams, but on this one, anything that'll benefit from the atk and def boost need thier speed.

HP: Bug on aero pls

All around tank:
Umbreon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Double Team
- Moonlight
- Toxic

double team is 'frowned upon' and is luck based

use: charm, baton pass, wish, pursuit, with:

EVs: 212 HP / 44 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
for evs

Physical sweeper:
Arcanine (M) @ Liechi Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Extremespeed
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Howl
- Overheat

HP: Fighting pls, also get more HP and def instead of atk

Physical wall/Spiker/Spinner:
Cloyster (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic

Surf over toxic, it only needs about 420 def

Special sweeper:
Sceptile (M) @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Leaf Blade

use leftovers instead of petaya berry

Special sweeper:
Jolteon (M) @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt

replace this with something to cover your weakness's

You need a normal resist, DDtar counter, and something to take on bulky water types, not bad for your first NB team

Zootster September 18th, 2005 10:29 AM

I like my Umbreon the way it is. So far, the set i have has been awesoome. And even though DT is luck based it definately helps sweepers stay in battle longer (expecially if they dont have to use it themselves). And does anyone have suggestions on who to send out first???
