bayleef, quilava or croconaw?

which 1 r u gonna get in colosseum? i'm getting quilava. i always get the firet type starter.

Arcanine February 24th, 2004 4:17 PM

I though you could get all three in the game?
Well like I care, I got three memory cards so I can get each one if you can't get all three on one card.

Scyther5 February 24th, 2004 7:16 PM

Defenintaly Quilava ,Typlosion is so Awsome!

Kyosuke February 25th, 2004 4:33 AM

I think I would get Croconaw, it seems that it would be a good to have on your team since you can't "Snag" most of the pokemon.

Pokemon ruler February 25th, 2004 1:03 PM

Pokemon ruler do not spam like that again.

Serebii February 25th, 2004 2:38 PM

You can indeed get the other two ones after you beat Team Shadow...they are some of the final Pokemon you get

But its still a valid choice since this will be a Pokémon you'll be stuck with until beating Team Shadow since you cannot trade until then

Latios Master February 26th, 2004 3:03 PM

Ok, good, I thought that we could only get 2 of them. So, I guess I'll choose either Croconaw or Quilava for the first one. Probably Croconaw because Totodile is one of my favorite Pokemon.

Shinin February 28th, 2004 6:18 AM

You can't trade until u beat team shadow? aw man...

KingpiN March 2nd, 2004 3:00 PM

I didnt knew that u can have one of those in colosseum....anyway, i have the three of them in my Gold version :nervous:

And answering yuor question....i think cyndaquil is the cuttest, strongest and coolest one.
I currently have a cyndaquil level 30......yes, unevolved.

Chairman Kaga March 2nd, 2004 3:24 PM

Poor Bayleef...so ignored ;_;

But not without reason ;P

My pick is most certainly Croconaw...I have no idea why, but Feraligatr was always my favorite G/S/C starter final evo. I doubt one can say that Croconaw is stronger than Quilava or vice-versa...it all comes down to preference.

Also, do you always automatically get one gender of starter when you play or is there a chance of getting a female so you can breed it?

Shinin March 2nd, 2004 5:35 PM

the only way 2 get cyndaquil in colosseum is 2 trade 2 r/s or fr/lg and breed it

Kenta March 2nd, 2004 5:43 PM

I would pick Quilava first considering Typhlosion is my 2nd favorite. I will get the other 2 as well^^
Course, I gotta give it Earthquake and Thunderpunch:D

Phantom Angel March 2nd, 2004 5:47 PM

Bayleef, ecause no one choose it. =P
He is cool.
And he is cute too. =D

The Vince Knight March 2nd, 2004 9:36 PM

everyone should choose quilava..
Maybe because that Typlousion is soooooo powerful!

My cyndaquil is a female :classic: ...but, i wount breed her, cuz, i wount use her egg passing moves :tired:

Pogiforce-14 March 4th, 2004 3:39 AM

I would either want a quilava because it was always my first choice back when i played gold silver or crystal, or bayleef, simply because Ash had a bayleef, still has a bayleef, and I'm currently imitating Ash's pokemon as close as I can. (Pikachu, Treecko, Tailow, Corphish) even if it is an older one.

Jirachi the Wish Maker March 4th, 2004 5:04 PM

BAYLEEF! BAYLEEF! BAYLEEF! I always go with the Grass Type! ;)

kInGdRa_rUlEs March 4th, 2004 7:33 PM

quilava, because it evolves into typlhosion, but even though feraligater(spelling?) is stronger

Arcanine March 4th, 2004 9:42 PM

Well I am going with Quilava, I love fire Pokemon (you mite have known that) and I want the fire starter.

GuardianFlygon March 5th, 2004 6:16 AM

Mine? I'd have to say.... Croconaw. Im into fire, but I've been using Dragons, so WATER goes best with Dragon.

Dragon Man March 5th, 2004 2:40 PM

I'd have to go with the most picked: Quilava because Typhlosion is really powerful and I like him. :P

beauinmexico March 12th, 2004 10:15 AM

I'm going to go with Quilava as well. I really liked Typhlosion back in G/S/C

Kayleigh March 18th, 2004 8:54 AM

I like Bayleef and all of its evolutions, but I'd probably go with Quilava. It's got some of the best moves, especially when it evolves into Typhlosion.

Legendary_Pokegirl March 18th, 2004 10:51 AM

I would definatly choose Quilava!

Pokemaster10000 March 18th, 2004 12:16 PM

I'll Croconaw probaly. Only if it will learn a strong ice attack to kill grass types and earthquake to kill electric types so that about covers up all its weakness.

Now that Blaziken is around and Typhlosion can no longer have Thunderpunch, it's much less used though. =\ And since Charizard can Dragon Dance that pushes it even further back. Might have helped if it had Flash Fire. Oh well.

Moonlit_Angel March 20th, 2004 5:03 AM

Bayleef! Although Quilava rox, I still like Bayleef best. I really don't know why, maybe it has to do with the fact that in my Silver, he was my starter, and still is. My VERY first starter.

Altaria Tamer March 29th, 2004 12:11 PM

First Let Me Clear This Up You Can Only Get TWO Of The Starter Pokemon I Have The Offical Nintendo Guide And I Have Done Research You Get One At The Beginning (Your Chocie) And One At The end (I Think Its Your Chocie But I Am Not 100% Positive)

For Me Bayleef In The Beginning And Quilava At The End(Feraligator Looks Stupid In 3D)Reason For Bayleef I LOVE IT!!!! Its The Only Qute Grass Type And Its Powerful!

TWO????? Then how come I found all 3????????????

Battery Cat April 4th, 2004 2:55 PM

I think I'll pick Quilava when I get to get the game. I also like the other two so I don't really know but I think I'll pick Quilava first.

Shinin April 4th, 2004 3:03 PM

I also have the Nintendo Official Guide. You can catch all 3. You probably read it wrongly.

ya u CAN catch them all, i have the guide as well

Pikachu Fan38 April 6th, 2004 7:40 PM

I wanted Croconaw but I fought with the guy that had Bayleef
now Im stuck with bayleef until the end of the game

BlastBurn April 6th, 2004 7:43 PM

I took Bayleef because the only other grass type you get for a while is skoploom and i hate the whole skiploom family. Plus the johto starters all werent as great as the Hoenn and Kanto starters IMO so i didnt really matter to me.

Chairman Kaga April 7th, 2004 11:49 AM

I chose on Quilava, mainly because I knew I would eventually get all three and Typhlosion is the best-looking of the three.

I AGREE WITH L.T.MINE IS ALREADY A FERALIGATR.

Dark_Absol April 16th, 2004 10:55 AM

I will take Bayleef. Just to exclude Crocanaw, i hate that Grrararg thing!

Aerith84 April 16th, 2004 11:12 AM

Bayleef!!!The grass type!!!
The pokemon with a strong will like me! XD
It's effective against rock type, water type and sometimes against elettric type!
I don't like croconaw,but I love Feraligatr!!! @[email protected]

Pokedragonfire April 16th, 2004 1:44 PM

The best one to get is Bayleef, you can get strong water Pokemon like Mantine or Quagsire, and Entei as your fire. Skiploom is one of the few grass Pokemon that is "snagable" in the game. But I picked Quilava, he's fire, I love fire.
Gender Ratio for Bayleef, Quilava, and Croconaw: 87.5% Male 12.5% Female

Greed April 16th, 2004 1:59 PM

Mwahahahaha.. Croconaw rawks =3 Its the strongest (attack) of the three starter pokemon. Besides, its moves are not bad at all =D

Are you saying Bayleef is weak? How dare you. Look at Meganium's base stats compared to Typhlosion and Feraligatr’s.

Meganium

Base Stats:
HP: 80
Att: 82
Def: 100
Spd: 80
Sp Att: 83
Sp Def: 100

Base Stat Total: 525

Typhlosion

Base Stats:
HP: 78
Att: 84
Def: 78
Spd: 100
Sp Att: 109
Sp Def: 85

Base Stat Total: 534

Feraligatr

Base Stats:
HP: 85
Att: 105
Def: 100
Spd: 78
Sp Att: 79
Sp Def: 83

Base Stat Total: 530

Sure Typhlosion has the largest Base Stat total, but can he actually use his stats effectively?

Typhlosion isn’t used very often in Ru/Sa (Yes, I will admit I have used a Gameshark to allow me to capture Typhlosion, but I don’t really consider it cheating), since he can’t learn the the punches like in GSC. It has a very little variety of moves it can learn now, and not many moves to make use of that fantastic Special Attack stat. All of it’s other stats are good, but nothing special. Typhlosion is the worst out of the GSC starters, no doubt.

Meganium on the other hand, is more much more useful. Like a lot of Grass types, it has an unusually high defense stat. It’s other stats aren’t too shabby either. Meganium is great for Pseudopassing, as it learns very good moves in that variety. It can also be used for sweeping. It has average, not too bad stats, but I don’t like sweeping with it because it’s Special Attack and Speed isn’t that high.

Also try: Feraligatr. He’s just as useful. If you want me to give a description for him, PM me.

Pokemon Master #1 May 1st, 2004 4:35 PM

What you should choose.

Any one you want, because it's possible to get all three of them.I have all three and their all purified and evollved. If that weren't enough they're all level 100!
