"WOW! I HAVE A PS2!" What's the oldest computer you have?
What's the oldest kind of computer you have?
From what I gather, our oldest is a VGA PS2 286 (I think that's the number) model 30. We haven't really seen it work yet (Possibly because at the time we weren't really trying to get it to work and the monitor plug was missing a pin) The oldest PDAs we have are either the Cassiopias which are dead right now or mine which is a HP Palmtop PC 320 LX from about '97. |
I've got a SWAN XT10. I'm not sure what it's specs are, as I don't have it running. The next oldest one is a Packard-Bell Legend VIII, which is a 386. Again, the other specs are unknown as I don't have it running.

I used to have a really old second-hand computer which was falling apart (the hard drive had a lot of bad sectors). I did not remember what processor or specifications it had, but the processor was likely from the x86 era (286, 386, 486, etc.) or an early Pentium series; I have since sold it to a second hand dealer. Right now, the oldest computer in my home is an old Compaq Presario 2246 (the first computer I had). Its specifications had changed over time as the hardware in it kept failing and being replaced; the last time I checked (which was over a year ago), it only had 32 megabytes of memory, 6 gigabytes of hard disk space, and an unknown A.M.D. processor, running on Windows 95B. It has since been replaced by my current computer (in April last year - yes, I was using Windows 95 as recently as last year) and retired.
|
We also have a computer with pretty much only a Harddisk and motherboard we're using for a footstool. It has over 540 MB in the harddisk and my brother wants to fix it and put Windows 3.1 on it (See if it uses all the disk space as, I believe, 3.1 only reads 548)

My sister's 14-year-old laptop is hanging around in my parents' bedroom, but we just use it as something to lean on when we're writing; I don't think it works~
|
We have i don't know how old computer, with a pentium 3 699Mhz processor, 128mbs of ram, a 6 gb(roughly)hd, a 4mb ancient video card, and i don't know the rest. It was designed for win 98 and NT, but XP runs fine.
|
XP on a 6GB hard drive? Eww... I feel sorry for you :P. Linux would run OK though~ X3

The oldest computer we had was an old Pentium 2 (I can't remember the name on the maker, I just remember it as a Pentium 2 XD. If I had to pick a name I'm leaning to Apple). It was like 20 years old (it was older then me, I know that much), it ran on the old Black and White (well Green) DOS, no color no nothing on it. It used them big 5 inch Floppy Disks *is holding one right now*.
We since got rid of it because there isn't a use for something that old. XD |

My oldest computer is a junky old Windows 95 in the garage. It only has 16 RAM.
|
Yes, I'm going to eat it now. :3
I didn't know you could *run* 95 on 16MB RAM. o_O |
I have a old Gateway 3400 Mini I slavaged for my room. It is a PIII 933MHz, 20GB HD, 256 MB PC133 RAM.

Slackware or Ubuntu\Kubuntu with Fluxbox would be perfect. Maybe even DSL (can't say the distro name due to curse word) with Fluxbox.
|
*giggles at the second sentence* Slackware's nice. Ubuntu > Kubuntu, I like KDE better usually but it's fugly on Kubuntu~
|
Yeah, but it's easy to fix with a few tweaks.
I just found my old Packard-Bell Legend VIII running MS-DOS 3 and the strange Packard-Bell GUI for it. Memories.... |
OMFG! Photos/screenshots? Please? X3
|
The oldest computer I have is a Dell Optiplex GX110(I know, I know). It has a 6 GB Hard Drive and 256 MB of RAM.
