iPod nano or Dell DJ?
Well, I want a quality mp3 player and I'm leaning towards the dell DJ. I heard that iPod nanos are so fragile that the screens crack a lot. And plus the Dell DJ holds 5gigs for less money that the $200 nano. Anyways, what's your opinions on which should be on the top of my Xmas list.
|
Ya, I think DJ is the way to go~
If you don't want an iRiver or Zen or something <<; But, iPod's are just fragile as you mentioned + poor compatibility =/ |
Don't get either, get a Creative. They're cheaper than iPods, they are well-regarded in terms of sound quality and build quality, and they've been around for a long time, so they're not going to scarper anytime soon.
iRivers are my preferred MP3 players, due to their high sound quality and superior firmware (in my personal opinion), but they tend to be quite expensive. |
I'm going to totally agree with JA~
Except I have one of those old 256 MB players...and eh, it's not that great. I'd get a coloured LCD one if you do go iRiver. Creative rocks ;D Circuit City actually has some nice deals I noticed the other day~ |
i say u go wit the ipod nano the screens do break easily but if ur careful u shouldn't have any problems
|
The iRivers I like are over $200. My limit is around $200. Creative is nice I guess.
Edit.. Creative Zen Micro or Ipod Mini |
does the Micro have a screen? 0o;

Yes it does. |
I think it looks nice =D
But I've seen ones for under $200 with colour screens <<; |
I keep getting drawn back to the iPods great display and sound quality. I think I'm going to have to go to best buy and try them out.
|
well the ipod is better knowend , so i go with i pod
|
Yeah you should try them out first. I have a Dell DJ and it's alright but not the greatest. Creative mp3's are nice but the nano is so sexy, it's too bad about the screen. In the end it's all up to you.
|
Still, I wouldn't go for an iPod, especially since the battery's hard to change.
|
Question- Do iPods work well with WinXPpro?
|
They work well with Mac ;D
Actually Brandon~ I think as long as you have iTunes installed, it'll work fine. |
I don't have iTunes though. :(
|
Then ... you're screwed? =O I'm not sure if it works with WMP.
I think it's downloadable though 0o; Try www.itunes.com ? I have the software CD, but I personally haven't installed it yet. |
iTunes is free, and it will also come on the CD that comes with the iPod if you buy one~
|
I would have a iPod nano I like it`s shape and the way it looks better.
|
Ipod! ^-^ It comes with Itunes and is super easy to use ^^;
But..watch out, it only registers on ONE computer...try to get songs from another one and it'll erase all the songs you got from the first computer D: Ipod>All |

I still say get a Creative or an iRiver.

Another thing that I don't like about iPods (being the audiophile I am), it doesn't display bitrate info or technical mumbo-jumbo. Also, MP3s encoded with Variable Bit Rates (VBR) skip on Nanos, Shuffles, and Minis. Apple's solution? "Use AAC, it's better." |
Personally I love the Dell DJ
Ipod Nano's are ALREADY obsolete *points to video Ipod* so why buy something they replace in a week or two :3 |
I know ._.
I'd wait for the Video if you want an iPod. |
