I was just wondering who is home educated on this forum? I hear it is big in America and some other countries so there might be some on this forum - we dont have very many in England and most people havent heard of it here! Just need reasuring I'm not the only one!

Batesymon October 26th, 2005 12:41 PM

Nah. But we have friends who do that to their kids.

Squeegee Beckenheim October 26th, 2005 12:45 PM

Yes, I am home educated(or schooled). I personally enjoy, but it is not for everyone.

Forest Grovyle October 26th, 2005 1:25 PM

No, I'm not - I don't know of many people who are over here. :) I think it's bigger in America but I know there are some people in England who do have it!

Akio123 October 26th, 2005 1:54 PM

I am not, though I have many friends who are.

Miyu-chan October 26th, 2005 1:56 PM

No. xD; I've heard that it's pretty expensive though. o.o;

devilicious October 26th, 2005 1:58 PM

Some times yes. All my stuff is on CD so it's around $300-500 dollars (I don't pay for it so I'm not sure XD).

I'm homeschooled. I like it better then public school, but it sucks that you can't make any friends being home schooled.

jc_rcw October 26th, 2005 7:43 PM

I'm not, and I don't think I would stand it.

Charizard_Fire_God October 27th, 2005 2:26 AM

Not me, tch, but let me be entirely honest with y'all when I say I SOOOOO Wish I could be. <_<

Eon-Rider October 27th, 2005 2:52 AM

Nope. Not me. I don't think I would stand it.

Cybex Mewtwo October 27th, 2005 3:31 AM

I was gonna say that you were not the only one, but Hunk beat me to it. XD To be honest, Í'm not, but it would be an interesting thing to try.

bna_li October 27th, 2005 3:52 AM

I'm am. I think I would have preferred school, because I'm slacking alot now...

Rhykasho October 27th, 2005 7:31 AM

Nah, it would probably drive me insane for some reason (getting taught whilst theirs a comp waiting for u and u not being allowed to even look at it, plus there be no one to annoy >>)

QT Plusle October 27th, 2005 9:12 AM

I came out of school because of all the bullies and problems with my friends....*snivel*....! I go back to school to go to orchestra on a wednesday though and the bullies are nice to me. My friends always say hi too. Lol! I tell you people everything!

Ciervo Volante October 27th, 2005 10:01 AM

I'm homeschooled, aswell. As Arcanine said, I hate it that you can't make any friends, espeacially (sp?) because I live in a neihborhood that has no people my age. ;_;

Alakazam17 October 27th, 2005 10:03 AM

Well, I was home schooled out in the country for Grades 7 and 8. It was fun, as I learned my Math skills that I'm using up to this day :D

Anyways, I went to High School in Grade 9, and went through from there normally.

Crystal Clair October 27th, 2005 10:54 AM

I'm definitely not but I think my cousin was at a time. His father was in the airforce so they moved to lots of places like Germany and Kansas. I think it was the older brother, the younger one is the Pokemon fanatic. I know for a fact that one of them got left back one time but I'm not sure if the homeschooling had anything to do with it.

prolific_rhapsody October 27th, 2005 10:54 AM

YES! And I have never been to Public School before, and once again, I am VERY lucky to have parents that have a desire to teach me, but at the same time it gets sucky because I have only two friends, and they're both family, my cousins. But I have 4 or 5 'acquaintances.' And that's it.
I have been asking to visit public school, even just for a little while, and so far it's been a straight "NO!" every time. It's not like I want to go forever, you know? And I live in the deep south, where a lot of people talk twangy and stuff, and that just feels funny to me.

This may sound weird, but my friends are the reason I left. They kind of started to turn into bullies. Trust me, it is better to stay away from all that! You could join one of those after school groups-I meet my new friends every wednesday so it is great for making friends!:D or if you are not aloud to go to one of them...public groups are good to!

Geometric-sama October 27th, 2005 4:12 PM

I've heard some good things about homeschooling but I wasn't homeschooled. I'd guess the worst bit would be not meeting a heap of other people.

Hinoshi-chan October 27th, 2005 4:21 PM

I am , thats why you can see me regugally all the time on pc , cause I dont go to school, and Im not getting a education at home really XD the last thing I remeber being taught buy mum, was how to do the dishes !_! now I just stay on my pc all day **coughnerdcough** XD

Datriot October 28th, 2005 1:21 AM

no, well, it's kinda complex with me, I went to school, then last year I got home educated, now I'm back at school again, I just missed all my mates and stuff...

Kayleigh October 28th, 2005 9:48 AM

I am! My mom started homeschooling me in kindergarden, but then I went to a public school through 1st-3rd grade. Before I started 4th grade my mom offered to homeschool both my brother and I again, and by that time the idea sounded great because we were so tired of not being able to spend much time at home, or with our family! Being in public school just kept us so busy all of the time, and my mom really wanted to spend more time with us so that's how the idea came to be.

My brother and I have been homeschooled since then, and we love it! Regardless of what a lot of people may think, when you're homeschooled you don't have to be socially deprived just because you're not surrounded by your friends all day. I have many close friends, who even go to a public school, and even at my age I feel more comfortable and enjoy befriending older people just because I'm around one (my mom) all day. We also still have a lot of chances to meet new people just by going to church, town, attending different events, etc. I never end up feeling lonely, even when I am stuck at home, I guess because I enjoy being around my family members. I get to see people like my grandparents, who I really love, all the time so it makes it more special. I also haven't been as affected by peer pressure and all of that junk, and I think that I have turned out to be a nice, Christian girl. My mom's been a really good example for me, and she's taught me well.

(And I do actually get an education... As you can see, I'm not totally stupid. XD My mom orders books for us from a Christian academy, and trust me, she can be strict when it comes to us getting our work done!)

B-Baller October 28th, 2005 9:59 AM

If home educated, you mean studying at home, then yes. I study a lot at home, no subject bores me. I get good grades at school cos I do this.

If you mean home schooled, no.
