Wow, so how does this all work? Sounds to good to be true! :D How do you guys find the time to do all this for every one?
Can someone explain some of the lingo to me - UBER, OU...etc?

UBER : Banned from competitive plays because of either their large movepool, or incredible stats division

OU : Overused, meaning commonly used in competitive battles

BL : Borderline, Not common, not rare to see, simple

UU : Underused, rarely seen in competitive battles

NU : Not Used, absolutely horrible for competitive battles

Azonic September 6th, 2007 4:23 PM

Uber - a pokemon with skyrocketing base stats. Most pokemon with over 600 total in stats are considered uber. Mew,Manaphy, Wobbuffet, and Darkrai are also uber. Slaking is not uber. Other than that. all pokemon with 601+ in base total are uber. Ex: Dialga Groudon [email protected]

OU- OverUsed pokemon. Pokemon with good stats and a decent movepool, above average for a non-uber pokemon. Also abilities and strategies add to the OU. Ex: Garchomp Milotic Salamence Rhyperior

paratroopa, I suggest you fix a Garchomp weakness you've got

lucario_01 September 6th, 2007 5:23 PM

Does no one notice my request? I'm becoming tired of waiting. I don't think it's fair that people who requested after me are getting their teams right away!! It's not that hard of a request!

Azonic September 6th, 2007 5:25 PM

@[email protected] Stop flaming.

Do you want Lucario special or Physical Sweeper?

When pokemon can take on various roles in a team, its hard to make one that you'd like without knowing if you want a Physical, Special or even Mixed Lucario

What do you suggest I replace?

I intend on keeping Torterra, Crobat and Milotic.

Azonic September 7th, 2007 1:32 PM

Before we get to the Garchomp topic, I'd like to point out that your team is fairly unbalanced as u only have Milotic as a wall.

you probably are gonna need an annoyer, BPer, or spikespinner.

and also, you have 3 physical attackers, not good

khatzeye September 7th, 2007 5:14 PM

ive been back and forth on here for a few weeks but noone is ever on... so if someone wants to battle or talk about strats 1on1 plz email me im tryna get better as far as choose movesets go im a great ev and iv trainer so heres my email [email protected] and my wifi info is:sakura-395243822765. well if you add me let me kno thru email ty

lucario_01 September 7th, 2007 6:39 PM

Sorry...sorry...I just get that way sometimes...sorry...well, it doesn't really matter to me...I understand that it's hard to place a role on a Lucario...I'd rather have a Physical Sweeper, though. Somehow that seems to fit Lucario. Thanks...and I'm sorry for flaming. :|

And I guess you just got the easier requests out of the way first...I probably made too specific of criteria.

Azonic September 8th, 2007 4:45 AM

Lucario
Heracross
Steelix
Milotic
Drifblim
Starmie

Okay, this way you can do Mixed Sweeper Lucario.

It has a slight weakness to Fire, but it can outrun most fire types

J.M. September 8th, 2007 4:56 AM

Right, I'm after some help.

I've been doing competitive battling for about a week now and have tried out a few different combinations but now I'd like you guys to say which 6 you would use out of these:

Blissey
Skarmory
Garchomp
Dusclops
Milotic
Gardevoir
Infernape
Gyarados
Gengar
Blastoise
Alakazam
Blaziken
Torkoal
Metagross
Swampert
Dragonite
Salamence
Aggron
Golem
Lucario
Luxray

I'm quite stuck at choosing the best team out of these lot.

Any help would be much appreciated

Azonic September 8th, 2007 5:00 AM

Milotic
Torkoal
Garchomp
Gengar

I see no Baton Passers besides Blaziken. I can only help you this far.

lucario_01 September 8th, 2007 5:17 AM

Thanks! However, do you think its possible to incorporate Blissey? I know that you're the expert, but also, can we edit out Starmie, if possible? I dunno... Sorry if I'm being too picky... It's a good team, really! I understand that that's the only way for a mixed sweeper Lucario... Thanks a bunch, and if these changes are possible, then make them if you feel that they can be made. If not, just leave it and put down the team with items, nature, moveset etc. Thanks!

Azonic September 8th, 2007 5:31 AM

There is no room for Blissey seeing that you already have 2 pokemon weak to fighting.

Starmie is the only pure Special Sweeper.

lucario_01 September 8th, 2007 5:35 AM

OK, thanks!! I'm sure I'll get attached to this team!

Oh, and is Steelix interchangeable with Rhyperior or Rhydon?

Gulpin September 8th, 2007 5:50 PM

Hey! I'm trying to build a pretty good, well rounded team out of every catchable pokemon that is NON-LEGEND... I'm just wondering if anyone can help me on it.

Azonic September 8th, 2007 6:02 PM

Can you be more specific? Maybe include a strategy you want to use or a pokemon you would like to include?

There are too many possibilities.

Gulpin September 8th, 2007 6:18 PM

Ok. I loke these types:
Psychic (Gallade)
Fighting
Fire
Water
Grass (Mainly just Roserade and Grass starters)
Dragon (Mainly Larvitar, and Bagon)

Type matters very little...and TTar isn't a dragon. I'll start with gallade:

[email protected] Scarf
Jolly Nature
252 Speed, 252 Attack, 6 HP
~Leaf Blade
~Night Slash
~Close Combat
~Zen Headbutt

I think that's it. Now, here's support gallade:

[email protected]
Not sure on nature and EVs for this one
~Will o Wisp/Thunder wave
~Hypnosis
~physical attack...
~my memory at2 in the morning is bleek...sorry

I'm running out of sugar rush, so I'll leave it at that so somebody who isn't as tired as myself can help you more.

Gulpin September 9th, 2007 4:40 AM

Ok... Well I'd like these Pokemon in my team:
Roserade
TTar
Gallade (Possibly Gardevoir)
Infernape
Some water Pokes.

Gyarados, Blastoise, Swampert and Milotic would be a good addition to most teams

sudden_hit September 9th, 2007 9:33 AM

I would like a fire based team with 1 or 2 pokemon to cure its flaws, go wild!!

Azonic September 9th, 2007 12:20 PM

Roserade
Azelf
Torkoal
Blissey
Blaziken
Charizard

theres only three fire types but Roserade does pretty well in the sun. Like it?

Angelic Diablo September 9th, 2007 4:04 PM

Infernape >> Blaziken when it comes to a Fire/Fighting type
